Los procesos para reniovar pasaporte para las personas colombianas que viven en otras ciudades y np hay embajada los servicios por telefono es muy malo nunca contentan y deberian tener mas lineas de atencion o personas que residan fuera tener mas flexivilidad para renovar cualquier tipo de documentacion.

This place is absolutely worthless! I went in over a year ago to get my Colombian passport and ID. I received my passport within 30 days and was told that my ID would come in the mail with in the next 6 months. Its been almost 18 months and nothing. I have called dozens of times, left over 5 voice mails and still nothing!!! The most un professional place ever, they don’t even answer there phone now! Terrible!

I needed to get a tourist visa (called TP-​11). I had called earlier and the friendly lady told me to just get my passport, itinerary, a money order of $ 130 and a bank statement. There was no need for an appointment.
Showed up at around noon. Was whisked in within 5 minutes. She asked me if I filled the online application which I hadn’t. She was like «no problem» and proceeded to fill it out, took a photo, sent it to the printer and BAM!, there was the visa. Stuck it on the passport and I was out of there in under an hour. YES, I had my passport back with the visa in under one hour… that is unheard of.
I’ve never been to a consulate that is so friendly and efficient. I travel a lot and require a visa everywhere and this was the best experience ever.
Can’t wait to go to Colombia now !

Went to the consulate to get a tourist visa on short notice.
Service was courteous, warm, and efficient.
— The waiting area is nice a comfortable.
— The visa officer was extremely helpful. She helped me fill-​out the required forms and pointed me to post-​offices/​shops where I could get a money order to pay the application and visa fees.
— Was in and out within an hour.
Visa was processed without any delays.
Passport pickup was a breeze.

I have traveled to over 60 countries and need tourist visa for almost all of them. Dealing with different consulates is a very tedious task, full of slow bureaucracy and rude staff.
The Colombian Consulate in San Francisco is the opposite. Recently I need a tourist visa on a short notice. When I went to their office, I was greeted by the staff with genuine warmth and friendliness. Within minutes I was in the office of the consular officer. She was extremely polite, friendly, efficient. There were no thick security glass windows that separate you from the consular staff that you find at other consulates. No waiting in line. It was the most pleasant experience I have ever had.
She checked my papers, give me an estimated day to pickup the passport. When I called the office few days later a real person answered, unlike at other consulates where you would be even lucky to find a real person. I was transferred to the consular officer and I left her voice mail. Very promptly she called me back and told me my visa was ready.
This is really a reflection of Colombia as a country. It is the safest, nicest and friendliest country in the world. If you ever go you will experience how kind and friendly the Colombians are. I can’t say enough good things about the Colombian consular staff and the great country they are from. If you have never been to Colombia, go and discover the most amazing country. Colombia is passion as they say. You will feel this passion every second you are there, the only danger about this lovely country is that you might not want to come back.
