Claws & Paws

A few weeks before our vacation date, I called her to confirm the dates. She then complained that she needed to attend to her community college adult education classes, then she claimed that we have to the right beds for her, as she needed comfortable beds for sleep.
After that conversation I had to scramble to find another sitter. She called me but I did not want to hear her complaining any more. I was too busy trying to get another sitter.
She then sent me a message saying that because of health reasons, she could not stay with my dog. (as if that was a consideration after all her complaining).
I would definitely describe her as unprofessional and a FLAKE!
(Don’t say that you can stay with our dog, and then flake out!)
Very disappointing!

Bree has an amazing way with animals! We went away for two weeks and left her in charge of our super motley crew, composed of one very large rabbit named Howard, one even larger cat named Bruce, and our dwarf hamster named Peach. This was the first time that we’d ever left them to be cared for by anyone who wasn’t family.
We weren’t worried about Bruce. You couldn’t ask for a snugglier, friendlier cat. Sometimes he purrs just because you’re looking at him. Howard, however, can be a bit of a diva (yes, Howard is a girl), and Peach can illusive inside her mass of bedding. All three of our pets, however, warmed up to Bree almost instantly.
It’s rare for Howard to take to someone that she’s just met. It’s not Howard’s fault of course. Being untrusting is in a rabbit’s DNA. That said, on Bree’s first visit Howard hopped right over and let Bree pet her. Peach also emerged from her little igloo to see Bree. As I said before, Bruce is the friendliest cat in the world, so obviously he also loved her.
I know that the love continued to flow while we were away as well because Bree sent emails, texts, photos, and even made phone calls to let us know that all of our furry little buddies were happy and healthy. She seemed to genuinely enjoy spending time with them. She also left our house just as clean, if not cleaner than when we left it, which is saying something because rabbits like to make a mess! I would highly recommend her to anyone at all who wants excellent care for their pets.

My girlfriend and I had to go out of town for ten days, but my cat needed medication twice a day for a hyperthyroid condition. Bree was great — very friendly when she came to meet him and us, and very thoughtful. She clearly made an effort to, and was very mindful of, forming a bond with him, and sent us regular updates on her visits, and on how he was doing with his medication.
I would definitely recommend Bree to anyone looking for a sitter for their pet!

Just contracted Bree’s services for the first time and i will never worry about having to leave our cat alone again. One week away, an elderly cat who needs meds twice a day, a cat who also gets a little feisty when the owner is away… and everything went great.
We got updates throughout the week and our cat was calm and happy to see us when we got home.
Bree spends time with you to get to know your habits and your pet’s and it feels like she really enjoys getting to know them.

Crazy Woman in a claws and paws car was laying on her horn while an elderly man was trying to make a turn at a busy intersection. She proceeded to tailgate him for another block or so. Not the kind of person I want watching my dog.

I can’t believe it has been almost two years since I wrote my last review for Claws & Paws. As usual Bree has walked our dog almost every weekday since then and we could not be happier. As our dog ages Bree has been able to accommodate her and understand her needs. Bree is 100% reliable and trustworthy.

Bree is the most thorough, loving, pet sitter that I have encountered. My cat is an amazing, 22 years old — yes, that’s 105 to you and me — and she needs special care. She is thin so Bree makes sure she eats. She tends to be dehydrated, so Bree has lots of tricks to make sure she drinks water. She takes daily blood pressure medicine, and she sometimes misses her litter box. Not only does Bree take fabulous care of my cat when I am out of town, she also sends me suggestions for things that might make my cat more comfortable. I recommend her highly. You won’t find a more conscientious caretaker.

Bree is terrific! She cares about our cat as if he were her own. Bringing love, care and attention to our feline companion when we travel. Fantastic!

Bree has been a wonderful pet sitter for us for several years. She took care of our semi-​feral rescue cat and took great pains to try to coax him out and calm him down. She has been taking care of our 2 cats now for some time. She brushes them (they are long-​haired) and plays with them as well as feeding them and cleaning the cat boxes. The cats love her and are very relaxed when we get home.
Bree has even gone out of her way to check on and make conversation with my very elderly father-​in-​law when she was taking care of the cats. He looked forward to her visits as much as the cats did! And when one of the cats went missing she had great suggestions for ways to locate her. (And we did find her.)
It gives us great peace of mind to have Bree coming when we are gone. She is very reliable, the cats are happy and the house is secure. I highly recommend her!

Bree has been taking care of my two kitties for a number of years and I am very satisfied with her attention to all of the details regarding my cats and my home, in particular the types of food each cat eats and how much, their favorite toys and their personalities. She also is happy to feed a homeless feral cat I care for daily and would otherwise go without his meal when I’m away.
Bree also gives my kitties medications and can care for special needs. This is essential, as I would not be able to travel and be away from home if I could not rely on Bree to administer my senior cat’s required daily meds.
I definitely recommend her to anyone needing great care for their pets. I especially like how she follows up with a phone call or email if she notices something of particular interest or concern about my cats.

We have used Bree as a cat-​and-​sometimes-​house sitter for nearly three years, for periods from three days to three weeks. We’ve been totally satisfied with Bree. We’ve trusted her not only with our beloved indoor-​only cat, but with our house, plants, mail, etc. She’s always been conscientious, professional and reliable.
You have to have a special personality for this profession, and Bree has it! She adores and understands cats AND dogs (all animals, come to think of it), and they seem to return the favor. Our kitty is very shy and skittish, but Bree had her literally eating out of her hand within a day.
Bree is also good at keeping in touch – reassuring us about our cat’s well-​being, giving us peace of mind. I recommend her without reservation.

I purchased a gift certificate for Claws & Paws’ services via our school auction. Only after it arrived did I discover she did not list our neighborhood in her area of coverage. When I inquired what I should do, she told me she would lose money coming out to my neighborhood and I should give the certificate to someone else.
I would have tipped her well for coming out of her way (and maybe I should have said exactly that in my email to her), but I’m not throwing away any more money.
Allowing someone into your home when you’re away — someone to care for your pets — requires trust. I trusted that the certificate I bought was worth something, but it is not.
I see that Unilocal is offering a discount coupon for her services now. Buyer, beware! Do not spend the money until you’ve confirmed she will honor the coupon.

Bree has been taking care of my cat for several years now. My cat hates to be alone and gets stressed out very easily but whenever Bree takes care of him, he is happy and unstressed when I get home. He really seems to like her. She really loves animals and does an excellent job. I highly recommend her.

One reason my wife and I don’t travel together much is that we have anxiety about leaving our three demanding cats. They have very specific requirements and needs or so we like to think. We interviewed several cat sitters and realized we needed someone that would stay at our house versus just coming by twice a day.
We felt good about engaging Bree. She related well to the cats. She’s an obvious cat person plus she was thorough with getting the details down. We were fortunate that we had internet access on our trip. Bree emailed us daily with updates and questions. She also went above and beyond what we expected by recommending alternative types of food for our finicky eater plus a great brush to comb them with plus advise about caring for them. She is a professional when it comes to cats and respected her advise.
We would definitely use her again.

Bree loves animals. She walked my dog for several years before my dog passed away late last Summer. The love she showed my dog was so genuine and I was happy to have her in Bree’s care.
Oftentimes, people are either dog people or cat people but Bree is both. I also have a cat. The cat is not the friendliest but she would always come out to greet Bree and appreciated all the love Bree would give her.
Aside from the daily dog walks, Bree would occasionally pet sit for me. While I was only paying her to walk my dog for 20 minutes and give my cat just «a little love», she would wind up staying for much longer. This always made traveling emotionally easier because I knew my pets were getting a good amount of attention and love in my absence.

We been working with Bree for 1.5 years. I have an Aussie, eleven year old. Bree comes every day to walk her. As soon as Bree comes close to the house Chacha starts getting very excited, greets Bree with loud barks and can not wait to have Bree bring her to fun places. Bree is always looking different fun places to take Chacha.
We also used her boarding services. I can say I can go worry free when Chacha stays with Bree. Coming back to found Chacha, clean, safe and well care is been a great experience.

I think my cat is happy every time I go on a trip, because it means she gets to spend time with Bree. Bree is wonderful with animals; I trust her implicitly. She is also flexible, accommodating and has reasonable prices.
Highly recommended for pet-​sitting services!

My regular cat sitter was otherwise engaged, so I Googled «cat sitters, SF» in a pinch and found Claws and Paws. Bree was great. She took good care of my cat, notified me while I was away with status emails, and left a report for my return. She even left a few gifts and mailed me something while I was on the road. Rates were reasonable. I will recommend to others.

Bree has been caring for my very sweet but very shy 16-​year-​old cat for about five years now. She is the first other person to earn my cat’s comfort and trust, which is a testament to her skill and her care.
In the last year or two I’ve begun to spend half or my time away from home, which is stressful in many ways. But I never have to worry about my beloved kitty. Bree does everything she can to provide her with attention and a bit of companionship each day. She is also happy to handle other chores, such as taking in my mail and moving my car, which makes all those travel transitions as seamless as possible.
Bree keeps in close touch while I’m gone, so that I always know my cat is happy and healthy, and so that I can answer any questions she may have.
