Clary Sage Organics

This store has gone through numerous transformations since it first opened on Fillmore, but I think it has finally found it’s groove.
The salespeople are very helpful, not pushy, extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell, and just overall nice. Ambiance is pleasant and not at all stuffy, which is rare on upper Fillmore nowadays. They have an exceptional apothecary selection, a plethora of women’s fine organic cottons, and locally made accessories (cashmere and modal scarves, cashmere gloves. etc.). Men’s clothing selection needs a little work, but the shoe selection — suede boots, moccasins, rugged monk straps — is well edited.
Fave find: illuminance hand-​crafted marzipan soap — a steal for $ 8.

Fantastic shopping experience-​super lovely customer service and best shop in all of SF! Everything is top notch quality and eco friendly, LOVE their own design brand and bought a gorgeous sweater, love the fair trade «Indigenous» brand from Peru, and the whole concept of this awesome boutique.
At first, I thought I got the wrong address as just wanted to pick up some rosewater and figured it would be an apothecary of kind and was surprised when I saw the cool layout of the store and unreal, super chic, earthy clothes.
The staff were super helpful and sweet, really knew their stuff and gave me great advice and everything they carry are simply outstanding!
I was introduced to local Californian super effective organic skincare I hadn’t even been aware of that really works, the ladies are such a pleasure with their great hospitality that I returned only 4 days later. Most relaxing, laid back yet top notch shopping experience ever, totally down-​to-​earth and friendly and with clothes and skincare to die for! Watch out for Illuminence’s Jasmine scent, heavenly, as are Duchess Marden products, Sequoia, the silken headbands and so much else. Would like to spend an entire day in there!!!

I came here because i purchased a bloomspot voucher that offered $ 200 of Earnest Sewn products for $ 100. So, i went in with the intention of buying only 1 pair of pants, but i ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THESE PANTS and left the store with 2 pants instead.
At least for women, i don’t think they offer any dry denim… most of what i tried on were already rinsed, so the fabric had a soft feel on the skin… but OMG the moment i put the pair of pants on, i knew i’ve never had a pair of pants that fit better than Earnest Sewn, and i’ve been looking for the right pair of high-​end denim for about a year now.
When I walked in, I told the ladies that I was looking for the Earnest Sewn section, and they basically served me and attended to me from when I walked in to when I left the store (on a sunday afternoon). I liked that I didn’t feel snubbed when I told them I was using a bloomspot voucher. I also liked that they had literally just received a new shipment of Earnest Sewns, so the pants I was fitting had only been in the store for a day. Furthermore, they told me about their own experiences wearing Earnest Sewns, so I got advice on how to care for them if I chose to buy them. One of the ladies was wearing a wax-​coated denim at the time i was there so i got a chance to see what it looks like after 4 washes. …it still looked as if it was her first time wearing them…
i could seriously go on and on about my wonderful shopping experience here, and rant about how perfectly the pants fit my tiny waistline… but i’ll end it here [=

I can usually count on this place for a nice new cardigan or lovely shirt, sometimes a dress. A little spendy, but always worth it. They have stuff on sale pretty regularly — especially if you are interested in their yoga line or self-​produced materials. It feels good to be in there. Even though there is often a slightly overly aggressive sales person — on balance its a good experience.
I love their curation — style and politics at once!

Holy customer service Batman! What a wonderful store! The sales people are super friendly and helpful, and their in-​house line is organic and made in Northern California. It doesn’t get any more local than that! Not to mention how adorable they are. I’m wearing the leggings I bought there right now, and I swear I’ve never felt so sexy in a pair of stretch pants! I also like how simple and elegant the other lines they carry are. Yes, some of their things are a bit pricey, but that’s what you pay for things that weren’t made in third world countries, so quit your bellyaching!

It’s rare to experience serenity while shopping, but I guarantee if you set foot in here you will feel a sense of calm. I admire the interesting array of holistic remedies, super soft yogawear and loungewear, and organic skincare… there’s also a small cabinet displaying mixed media jewelry and precious gems. I’ve come by a handful of times to browse — the price ranges of most of the items are out of my budget, but I did treat myself to a rose scented body oil on my last visit. I give most of my stars to the always kind employees who are never overbearing… usually something you don’t get in boutique-​style storefronts, especially on Fillmore street!

I have been to this store twice now. First time I bought one flowing cami at full price (gulp) but I love it. The last trip in I tried on everything and let the sales people really help me. I left with 2 really cute tunics and a pair of black yoga pants. One tunic and the pants were ½ off. I love all of it. The pants I wear to work they are so nice. I love this store so every time I am in SF I will stop by. The sales staff are very nice and helpful.

Another great find as a result of the Fillmore Jazz Festival. We’ve been to Fillmore but probably not hitting the right blocks or something…
A cute dress in the display drew me in… so pleasant and peaceful inside. All the sales were friendly and helpful. They were having a special sale and almost everything is 30% off. There were some men stuff too although nothing caught hubby’s eyes but he came across some lavender scented items that he thought I would enjoy — yes, I love all things lavender…
Anyway, I picked up on a cool cotton wrapped cardigan and a great leather belt with a super cool buckle — made in Italy is a big plus.
Look forward to returning…

I went in to redeem a bloomspot coupon my sister had given to me, I had called ahead to see if they could take the code off my phone and the woman I spoke with was lovely and accommodating saying they could print a hard copy for me there. When I had made my selection and made it to the cash register I explained to the woman who had been helping me what the situation was, another woman standing over to the side made some snide comment to me that unless I had a printer connected to my phone I was out of luck. Huh? Luckily the original woman I had spoken with stepped in and took care of it. In fact they had a list of coupon numbers and names that they had to cross off, hmm not very green making hard copies unnecessarily. If you don’t like people using coupons in your store you should not sell them. I was under the impression that these coupons were all about getting new people to come in and experience the store and come back again?

i love all the clothes at this store. everything is so soft and comfy, and i just wanted to buy everything in site.
the gals who helped me at the store yesterday were super cute and nice. i can’t wait to come back.

Love this place! Yes, it’s pricey and most of the stuff has an unpretentious style but once in a while there are really interesting design ideas. Everything I bought there is very comfortable and makes me feel good wearing all natural organic.

Man, forget Lululemon. Yeah, yeah. I know their pants make your ass look bodacious, but listen here. I have major flat ass problems. I’m talking as flat as the great plains of South Dakota flat, but when I slip into a pair of Clary Sage Miracle crop capris I suddenly have a rump… and a pretty righteous one at that I might add. It’s no wonder they call them «miracle.» God knows they saved me and now it’s all a wear.
So why would you shop at some chain when you can support a home grown joint: The Clary Sage line is all locally sourced, locally made and, duh, organic.

I always seem to find something here that I like, but sadly I often feel like they don’t care about ME. Its worth a stop and a look-​see.

If you’re looking for soft hoodies, tees, pants and other organic clothing this is your place. And it’s especially your place if they have a 20−50% off sale like they did last weekend!
While the clothing looked comfortable (especially some of their sweatshirts) I found most of the stuff in here to be boring and overpriced, even on sale. However, I would stop back in if looking for an eco-​friendly gift.

I like this place and the staff was way friendly and helpful.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Clary Sage. Their customer service is really the best. I call them to find Prarie Underground items and they are just the best connection on organic clothes in the Bay Area. Their staff are together, so so friendly, and do everything to make your shopping (or in my case often phone ordering) experience feel simple, easy and fun.

I am writing this review based on my personal experience shopping at the store for myself. It is really hard to find green clothing in general so I was thrilled when I walked into this store and found EVERYTHING earth-​friendly. I ended up buying a great dress and sweater and love the design and fabric (both washed extremely well and are great travel pieces). The sales staff was very helpful and I will be sure to make the trek up to the city when I need new clothes.

Great place with excellent customer service. I happened upon this place when I was on my way to meet some friends at a restaurant in the area. It has a great array of the top eco-​conscious brands, cute accessories, and an extensive cosmetics/​skin care selection. The sales associate was really sweet and took the time to show me around. I will definitely be a repeat customer. :)

Although I’m on a very limited budget right now, and was just browsing, the staff was friendly and helpful with a refreshing lack of attitude for a store on upper Fillmore. The selection of merchandise is great; the casual clothes and yoga togs are absolutely scrumptuous and the cosmetics look and smell lovely. The prices are not inexpensive, but its good value, and I’ll be spending some money here when I have it!

Best new shop on Fillmore! Wonderful clothes, luscious lotions and homeopathic care. Look great and feel great. One stop shopping!
