Citizen Snap Photography

Erin shot my wedding in June 2015. My husband and I chose her because we looked through her portfolio and loved her work. She is able to capture those candid moments and her photos really bring out the emotions of the moment. We scheduled a phone intro with her and we immediately felt at ease — she was so easy to talk to and I felt like I was talking to an old friend.
She brought one assistant to our wedding who was also great. We received a ton of retouched photos after our big day and couldn’t be happier. Every time I look through the photos, they make me laugh and tear up because they really bring me back to that wonderful day. Thank you so much Erin for capturing US so well.

Erin is wonderful with children! She has done our family pictures for 2 years now. Everyone is blown away with her pictures and always ask me who our photographer is. I would highly recommend her for any kind of photo shoot. She is so versatile and such a pleasure to work with.

We booked two photo shooting sessions from Citizen Snap. Tory took photos for our city hall ceremony, and Erin took our pre-​wedding photos. Both Tory and Erin are easy to communicate with and talented to capture the moving moments. We all love the photos! They have a lot of great ideas about the scenes and our postures. In addition, they are very positive and fun people. They were part of our memories for these special moments.

We discovered Citizen Snap Photography through a Gilt City Special, and took a leap of faith. We were planning our San Francisco wedding from Boston, so great communication was a top consideration for us while selecting vendors. From the beginning, working with Citizen Snap Photography turned out to be a step in the right direction.
From the outset correspondence, Erin Moriarty, the owner and main photographer, was quick and clear. Her thoughtfulness and consideration for the couple was a highlight from beginning to end.
Pre Wedding
Prior to the wedding, Erin’s first step was to schedule a meeting to get to know us and the wedding venue. She was extremely accommodating with us while we scheduled our first trip to San Francisco to meet with our vendors. Our first trip was a short one, and we had to schedule it last minute due to work considerations. Erin was happy and willing to juggle her schedule so that we could meet. She’s so dedicated that she arrived to our meeting despite fighting the flu. She was kind, professional and fun the whole time despite being sick. Shortly thereafter, we received beautiful engagement pictures that Erin took during that first meeting. Prior to our meeting Erin had researched the wedding venue, and she walked the entire ground with us to take pictures at pre-​determined locations. Looking at the pictures, it was clear that she captured the best of the venue. Best of all, she was able to capture a ton of fun and light-​hearted interactions between us. The pictures were beautiful, and we received a ton of compliments from friends and family.
The week prior to the wedding we had a conference call with Erin, her second shooter Nick, and our wedding planner. The call was efficient, and handled very professionally. Erin walked our planner through her shot list as well as the minute-​by-​minute agenda for the photography team at the wedding. Once the logistics were worked out, Erin then walked us through the requirements for dress shoots at the hotel the day before the wedding, including a final run through of specific shots that we wanted to capture during dress, at the wedding, and during the reception.
Wedding Day
On the wedding Erin and her team arrived at the hotel, and immediately started to capture great shots and b-​roll of the hotel and the bridal party. Citizen Snap Photography and team were extremely flexible as they spent most of the morning with the bridal party due to the fact that the groom’s party arrived late. As soon as the groomsmen arrived, then Nick and Brad ran down to capture as much coverage of the groomsmen getting dressed as possible. Because the groom was running late, Nick even offered to drive the groom to the wedding venue, so that he wouldn’t be late and run the risk of bumping into the bride prior to the first look photos.
At the wedding venue, Erin and her team captured extremely natural and interesting shots of the bride and groom as they waited for family and friends to arrive, as well as first look photos. The first look was as fun and exciting as the engagement pictures we took with Erin. We recreated some shots from the engagement shoot, and took it to the next level with some fun locations that Erin had reserved for the wedding day. I should note that it was an extremely windy afternoon, and Erin’s ability to adapt and improvise helped keep us calm and have a great shoot. In fact, the windy day lead to some amazing shots with the bride’s veil turning into a very interesting «prop».
Erin’s team connected with us and with our family and friends during the wedding. That comfort level lead to some very fun interactions, and great photography. The vibe for our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be.
Post Wedding
Erin sent the processed photos to us within a month of our wedding. Some photos were in colors, while others were black and white. They were thoughtfully edited to maximize the expressions and compliment the subjects. The photos ended up being very unique; the first look photos, especially very artsy. It was such a joy to look at them and relive the day.

I can’t say enough great things about the lovely Erin Moriarity. Her artistic talent, passion and creativity are apparent in everything she does, particularly her photography. She is committed to providing an exemplary level of service to her clients and relentless in her desire to ensure that they love the work she does for them. Erin took beautiful photos at my 2013 Ojai, California, wedding. I can’t imagine not having had her by my side on my big day. She has a heart of gold, a calming and nurturing presence, and a sincere love for capturing the love between people. She’s one of a kind. You will never regret working with her!

I feel so lucky to have had the most personable, fun loving and passionate photographer capture our engagement photos in our neighborhood in San Francisco a couple months ago — thank you Erin for giving my fiancé and I an unforgettable 3+ hours of the most beautiful photos of us that we will have forever and ever. The session alone was a gift in itself as we had such a fun time snapping photos in one of our favorite places in the world (the block we live on!!). Erin’s got an eye for an eye, and truly captured exactly what we had envisioned — and she made our photo shoot extremely relaxed and comfortable (two things that my fiancé and I were not expecting because we don’t really like taking photos to begin with). I can’t wait for Erin to capture our wedding in Cabo San Lucas next year. Erin is the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Hands down would recommend Citizen Snap. Truly an intimate blessing.

Generally, I am more concerned about the photographer’s ability to capture smiles and the moment than being able to photoshop the colors and the lighting, etc. Erin delivered. She is great at capturing the moment. I am very happy with her work and would definitely love to work with her again on family photoshoots.
Note — My corgi was a part of my wedding and Erin took some great shots for the three of us (Husband, Wife, and Dog).

This is my first Unilocal review, but I wanted to make sure I gave Erin a shout out and a VERY big thank you for the incredible job she did capturing our wedding day. We just got our photos back and it was so fun to re-​live our wedding day through her beautifully captured images. Erin was so easy to work with and gave me great advice on good moments to make sure we captured. She was sweet and so unobtrusive while capturing so many special moments.

Erin recently photographed some portraits of me so I could add them to my modeling portfolio, as well as a few portraits of me and my two dogs for personal use. She did a great job in all respects. We had a phone consultation ahead of time to discuss shoot objectives and what type of photos I was looking for. Erin also had many ideas on locations to shoot at and what time of the day provides the best lighting. During the shoot, she was very friendly and warm, which are important traits in any photographer because how comfortable the subject feels while being photographed definitely translates into the images. Finally, she provided me with a large number of final images, all of which had been retouched. She was very kind in offering further retouching should I request it, but she did a great job already so it was unnecessary. Overall, Erin is excellent to work with. I’ve shot with many photographers before but I can confidently say that she is a favorite!

Erin photographed our civil ceremony/​pre-​wedding at City Hall. We chose Erin based on her portfolio, professional background, and personality. She was a pleasure to work with from the get go, and communication was great — Erin was very prompt in any responses and easily contactable.
We met Erin at City Hall and immediately felt very comfortable with her. She has a great positive attitude which put us at ease and we got right into shooting. Erin had great ideas for the photos and worked with the surroundings to get the best shots. She also encouraged us to speak up with any ideas of our own.
The photos that we have received from Erin are stunning. As it was just the two of us (no friends/​family) our family and friends have been able to experience the day through Erin’s photos, and they absolutely loved them!

My partner Paul and I were married at SF City Hall in September 2013. We were searching for a photographer, and our friend recommended Erin Moriarity of Citizen Snap. We set up a meeting and decided to hire her and her business partner Mike to shoot our wedding. We are so glad we did! They ended up spending three days with us, shooting our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and a get together at our home in Berkeley. Erin and Mike are professional, punctual, and extremely talented photographers. Our photos turned out great.
Erin went above and beyond– she even did our flowers for the ceremony! Her fiancé, Brad Dollar, shot and edited our wedding video and it was top notch. He is extremely talented. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product, and highly recommend Citizen Snap!
