CHW Health Center At Pacific Bell Park

Going to see Dr. Moy for my darn shoulder. He’s been treating me for a few weeks. Good doctor, friendly staff.
Long story short, I have a suspected torn rotator cuff or labrum tear. WTF? Ok, guess that explains the searing pain in my shoulder.
Dr. Moy is not in a hurry to jump to worse case scenarios. He’ s patient and waits to see if your body will heal before he sends you to a specialist. Why incur additional costs if you don’t have to. By week four I’m still in pain so he orders an MRI and sends me to physical therapy.
The front staff is super nice. Hard to come by in medical offices. I hate dumb ass twits that work most front offices. They spend more time giggling and gossiping amongst themselves then they do helping you, the patient. But I digress. Back to front staff, here. They remember you when you come in. They take care of your insurance papers and they call you with any new appointments that may come up.
Early morning appointments start at 7:45.
They give you a parking pass.

Everyone in the Physical Therapy department is GREAT! Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is an open, and clean space with plenty of equipment. Martha is great to work with and my knees are getting stronger and feeling better (even the one that is not here for PT). Scheduling is no problem, and I have never had to wait for any machinery (from other patients).
As for the person who complained about cost, you should be blaming your insurance. This place has nothing to do with that, unless their billing depart, ment made an error. Have you taken a look at your EOB from your insurance? Doctor visits and physical therapy sessions are costing up to $ 300 and $ 150, respectively these days.

I remember visiting this place about 3 years ago for an employment pyhsical and one of the nurses (she’s one of those white girls that tries to look latina in her late 20’s) was in a shitty mood and was completely unprofessional and rude; I guess she was on her period.
The Dr was not much better, an older Chinese man in his 50’s talking as he was my father and not a Dr.
One star.

I cannot say enough how GREAT this place.
Dr. Z is a genius!
I had some confusing symptions, she zeroed right in on what was wrong, had the appropriate tests ordered and she was spot on.
The front office staff is warm and welcoming and incredibly helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone.
If you have a «mystery» ailment… see Dr. Z… she’ll cure what ails ya!

I saw Dr. Jeffrey Blue for an routine checkup (annual) because my husband had seen him the year before. My husband could not give high marks for him or his staff and warned me against going here for my physical. What can I say — it was convenient (location) and I wanted to try it.
I have to agree with Janey J. that Dr. Blue seemed very disinterested — actually, confused, at why I was there for a physical even though I had explained to him that I hadn’t been in for one for about 10 years. and I thought it «was just time» and that my husband and I were planning to get pregnant again and I wanted to make sure there were no obvious issues before we started trying. Dr. Blue didn’t seem to understand why anyone would want a physical when there seemed to be nothing wrong with me.
I think he spent about 10 minutes with me. had me move some joints — rotated my ankle and checked for motion. then had another staff member come in and draw my blood. Dr Blue told me he would send me my lab results in the mail …
After this, I received a bill for about $ 180 from the hospital which did the lab work on my blood. To this day, almost 2 years later, I have not received the results from the lab. I have tried contacting the lab directly but was told that my doctor has the information (that I paid for!) and I need to contact him to get it. I paid $ 180 for nothing! I have tried contacting Dr. Blue’s staff asking them to get him to call or mail me my results that I paid $ 180 for. His staff finally called back and said they would leave the message for him. and nothing. absolutely nothing. In order to get my results, I have to schedule another appointment to come in to see him. NO! That was not the agreement and I will not schedule an appointment to see him when he told me he would call or send me the results.
Funny thing is, I had forgotten about this debacle until just this month, out of the blue (pun intended), I get a card in the mail indicating that Dr. Blue is moving his practice to San Jose. Frankly, I don’t give a flying F*ck.

I have seen both Dr. Blue — for a broken foot, and more recently Dr. Zacherowicz (hope I spelled that right — everyone just calls her Dr. Zac) for an ongoing back injury. Dr. Zac is wonderful — good listener, asks good questions, has empathy, and is willing to discuss your situation instead of just handing down her opinion and scooting out the door before you can ask any questions. I have a really frustrating injury and she’s been extremely patient and thoughful with me, which when you’re injured, means a lot. Front office staff always pleasant. Only downside is I often have to wait — usually 20 minutes, one time over an hour. This is why 4 stars, not 5.
Physical Therapy at the same facility — I have Heather — is also great!

I must be missing something. I have been to see Dr. Blue 2 times for the same injury and he seems totally disinterested. He hasn’t diagnosed it, nor does he have any interest in doing so. He says it will probably get better over time, maybe I need some Celebrex or Prednisone. Just what I need, some overpriced pharamaceutical! He also x-​rayed the area when we had already determined that it is a soft tissue injury, and my physical therapist (whom I have spent more then 3 minutes with) recommended an MRI. It is not getting better. 3 months of relative rest and Physical Therapy and it seems to be getting worse. I guess my non-​professional-​career-​ending is simply not important enough for him to bother with.

I chose Dr. Jeffrey Blue from the long list of doctors my insurance company provides. Why? 1) In the right area, 2) does both sports medicine and family medicine 3) he was the only one with any sort of mention on Unilocal.
I liked him. I didn’t get the warm fuzzy feeling from him, but he seemed very knowledgeable and professional. I got the feeling every once in awhile he thought I was a bit ridiculous. But doctors always ask weird questions and you have to give them an honest answer, right?
The good:
I was having trouble with my back and he was interested in fixing it in the long run. He doesn’t seem the type to just prescribe drugs. He recommended physical therapy to learn a system I can use regularly. The PT facility is in the same building. I called with a follow up question and the receptionist said he was standing right there so it was answered in less than a minute.
The bad:
Parking. They say they have free parking, but I think it’s 8 spots. It was full when I went. Parking is in Lot A at the Ball Park — only a short walk over the bridge. I paid $ 3 for 2 hours. Not too bad, but not super either. 4 stars instead of 5 was mostly from me feeling lame while answering the Dr.‘s questions.
Overall, I liked Dr. Blue. I’ll go back.

This is a fairly new clinic (since est of the ballpark), so it’s nice and clean. My physician is Dr. Jeffrey Blue, and he is AWESOME. It’s nice because he’s fairly young, so I feel comfortable talking to him about anything. Where as with some of these old docs they are always judging you by what you do. There is a funny smell when you first walk in… almost BO-​ish. that would be the only reason why I haven’t given it 5 stars. But it’s clean, new, the staff is friendly, and the doctors never make you wait more than 10 minutes (which is REALLY rare in doctors offices). Dr. Blue does sports medicine as well as family practice, so you can see him for pretty much anything.
7÷6÷05 — Just an update. I went back for the first time in a month and a half… and the funky smell was gone :) so i had to make it 5 stars!
