Generous sandwiches, potato salad, dolmas, and more. This little grocery store and deli is a charming place. The family that runs it is warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to see you. They have the usual stuff: chips, candy, milk, soda… plus some stuff you’d never expect: recycled paper products, a HUGE selection of organic juices and kambucha drinks, plus a great sandwich counter. The mural on the front of the store is really special. Take a moment and see the way it moves through decades of San Francisco history.

Must-stop on your way to Dolores Park. Check out the mural of San Francisco through the years on the church st side. Great sandwiches, bagels and wraps at the deli. Most importantly, the family that runs the place is hilarious.

Incredible sandwiches. Strong service. A Franny must-visit. Ok, so apparently I have to write more because my review isn’t long enough for Unilocal’s standards. So, I’ll add more to the above by writing a poem. Restaurants, bars, warmth, and food Visiting here will put you in the good mood. Sandwiches, coffee, and snacks galore Any visit will leave you wanting more. Unilocal asks a lot of any review, But on Church Street, you’ll find the right pew. My artistic license grants me some skill, To drop a lot of knowledge but still be chill. I try, I try, I try to give deets, But this restaurant holds tasty meats. Obvi, I’m out of things to write, So maybe I’ve lost my bite. Suffice to say you should visit this place, It serves us all: the entire human race.

I am very happy to live nearby this store. They have all the necessary staples, good selection of beer and wine and great sandwiches. The people who own it are really nice and very friendly. I highly recommend it!

Awesome sauce surprise! I was rather confused when someone told me to go check out the liquor store for a sandwich but I’m very glad I did! I didn’t order any specific sandwich off the menu but told the nice gentleman helping me that I like chicken and spicy and otherwise make it how you’d like and he concocted a work of art that hypnotized me. Even though I just finished my sammy I’m considering going back… Right now. Definitely worth a shot. Get a fantastic sandwich for a steal with great service. Thanks guys!

My go-to breakfast/lunch spot when I’m around church street station! Whether your in a hurry or just hungry this place comes with the quality you just can’t find anymore in the city. Great sandwiches, breakfast bagel sandwiches, protein shakes, coffee and fresh made foods … I was really surprised at how great the sandwiches are — owner is a G and love that it’s family run and we can ‘BS’ like partners everytime I come through! His brother is super chill too — I joke about who makes sandwiches better and now they compete and I win! Muhahaha

This place has been my neighborhood corner store for 6+ years. They are friendly and funny, kind and caring, and always willing and able to help out. Plus, they have great sandwiches and delicious deviled eggs! My favorite stories: they once came over to kill a spider from my backyard for a scared neighbor(!!) and they once gave me a bowl of delicious homemade soup when I was home sick that I swear cured me overnight. They’re the best, THANKYOUGUYS!

I used to live across the street from here. Family run. Clean and while the selection isn’t huge, nothing was ever spoiled. Pretty decent sandwich bar that’s reasonably priced.

Try the sandwiches here! My hubby and I love the meatball and the chicken club sandwiches. Also, the deviled eggs are pretty good. These are in a deli case with other goods that look tasty too. Nearly every day walk by their sign advertising breakfast sandwiches. I’ve never had one, but they smell yummy from the sidewalk outside. I think the curb appearance does not do this place justice. Check out the goods on the inside. The people are super friendly. Fact, one day I was waiting outside for my husband to finish up with our sandwich order, and the guy working the counter came outside to give my sweet little puppy dog a slice of deli meat. Aw! Of the surrounding corner stores, this is my favorito. ***See my pics for food and interior.

This is a nice place, but it’s only worth visiting if you’re really, REALLY desperate for provisions like beer, wine, shampoo or mayonnaise. This place is ridiculously overpriced, which is funny considering that there’s a bodega located directly across the street; there’s George’s Market(good place) a block away, and a Safeway just a bit further. Balance your +50% cost increase with your convenience/desperation, and maybe it will be worth your while. It might be worth your time to walk one extra block for another bottle of wine. Or maybe not. Fool me once…(you know the rest).

I knew I had to write a review when I realized at the end of the day that I had been to Church Street Groceteria 3 times in one day. Not only a great selection of beer and wine– but a fabulous deli. It’s a family-run business, and everyone is so friendly. A great place for morning coffee, sandwiches for the park, and dolmas and deviled eggs to take to parties.

This is the greatest corner store. The staff is really nice. They have a wonderful selection of everything you need. Whats most important they have a wonderful wine, beer, and liquor selection. They often feature wines on special for under $ 5 a bottle. Cute little deli too with evolving selections of prepared items and sandwiches. I also come here for the last minute produce item, which isnt always the freshest, but super convenient. But I beg of you… please get rid of the magazine rack with the outdated and color faded magazines!

Hungover on a saturday morning… wake up, roll out of bed and hungry. Sandwiches are the best idea! Church Street Groceteria is the best place to get them as well — delicious bread, fresh meats, and totally reasonable prices. The store itself is also a delight — all the goodies you’d expect in a corner store. The guys who run it are amazingly friendly and they love my dog… I will definitely be a frequent customer.

The #4(Turkey, Bacon, Avocado & Ranch Dressing) Sandwich here is to die for!!! Aside from that, they are the sweetest guys ever. Also they will stock anything you ask for if they don’t have it. I’m lucky to live so close! Next time you need a sandwich & some beer on your way to Dolores, stop here! You don’t regret it!

I love Sandwiches here. Deli there but i didn’t know Deli was open as long as the store is open Couple weeks ago, I’ve tried for the first time, of course i bought few extra for my friends. I also added extra side of compound salads. specially Egg Potatoes Salad. Everything was so Delicious. All the associates are way customer service oriented. I will go back there and explore more about deli items.

They make a good sandwich, but Ike’s Place this is not… They use quality ingredients, which is great, but I can make something like this at home…

They carry It’s-Its. That’s a good thing. Besides that, I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Maybe I should come here in the daylight, but at night, it looks like every other shady corner store in San Francisco. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as shadiness has grown on me and nighttime is a corner store’s most natural milieu – I know I’m using the word wrong – but I don’t get it.
