Specialties

While I have worked on pretty much all types of Pianos thru the years, the majority, by far have been Steinway Grand Pianos. I specialize in the «Fine Tuning», «Action Regulation”(Mechanical Adjustment),“Voicing» (Tone Adjustment) as well as having a small team of Specialists for complete Restorations.

I also assist buyers in finding the right piano for them as well as assist sellers in the process of selling their instruments.(Steinway, Yamaha and other World Class Pianos only)

History

Established in 1978.

I fell in love with music and Piano’s at about age 9. At age 16, I started playing in my first band. After High School I went on national tour playing keyboards for Bobby Womack & Mary Wells, then numerous other bands in the South and Midwest. Now, it is 1977 and the up’s and downs of being a Musician have sunk in!

I really wanted to continue playing Music, and always stay close to Pianos, but knew I needed to have other means of income. (I still remember the blind gentleman who came to tune our Gulbransen spinet and being fascinated by all the working parts inside!) So, after pleading with the manager to please let someone teach me, I began the process of learning to Tune Piano’s at Forbes Piano Co. in B’ham. Al. in 1977. After one year as an apprentice,(and performing in Home Tuning on Spinets, consoles and uprights the last 8 or 9 months of training,)I relocated to the Bay Area and began Tuning as a private contractor for Sherman Clay & Co. (while still performing ;-) Lucky Me!
