GLIDE is amazing. With limited space and a worn out kitchen, it makes food for the underprivileged with effort like the Little Engine That Could. The soup kitchen primarily serves the Tenderloin area.
The lady and I volunteered to be servers and it was an enlightening experience. The people coming in were just so happy and grateful for the free meal. One could tell that from the eyes, expressions, and demeanors of the patrons that they have experienced some dire circumstances.
Final Call:
If you feel inclined, don’t waste the Saturday. Volunteer here and help the non-​profit pursue its mission of aiding the underprivileged in an overlooked area of SF.
