the bookstore is a joke!
i ordered my books online set it to (store pick-​up). they immediately took my money after i purchased the books online but i never got my books.
i received a confirmation letter that my books were ready to pick up in store but i knew it count be ready so i waited a day to get my book.
when i went there
person #1– said to come back tomorrow because the book was not put out
person#2– told me my books were on its way (next door and to come back later)
person #3– said the order is not on file and that its from 2012
person#4– –told me my books has been shipped to my provided address
person #5– my book was shipped to a different book store
everyday for 2 weeks straight i went to this bookstore to get my books that i already payed for and they gave me so much bull shit.
in the end the only way i was able to get my books was by getting upset at them because they were unwilling to refund me my money back.
if i could choose to give it a worst rating i would!

It seems like some big chain took over bookstore operations for the whole campus. It’s sad that the annex closed, these guys are now your only resource for essentials like scantrons (which are hidden among the medical supplies for some reason.) At least they stopped playing top 40 country music, the vibe was really weird at first this semester

Says open at 8am and closed at 7pm mon to thr but when I was there on wed 6:10 pm bookstore was closed. People were workin inside but they didn’t allow me to get in. Please change time in website that nobody would get problem with assignment like me

Terrible hours. How is someone with a full-​time job supposed to get their books? They should be open at least half the day on Saturday or Sunday.

I was just here yesterday. (I had to buy 3 textbooks [custom editions] and one that was surprisingly cheaper here than it is online.) There were people there but it was relatively empty. I already had the books I needed written down along with their ISBNs, handed it off, he found the books quickly, I was in and out in less than 4 minutes. Awesome.

It’s just a college bookstore where you can get textbooks for the class you’re taking. Although the cost of books here are on the ultra high-​end side, it’ll be worth it when you get your associates degree and transfer to a CSU/​UC. After all, this is college which means books, supplies and tuition are some of the biggest headaches for college students! Other than that, getting the textbooks you need for class is more important!
If the books at one college bookstore starts inflating its prices, then other college bookstores will start doing the same thing! Oh well, this is nothing new since getting a college education is so costly these days!

College textbooks these days are pricey so I am not too surprised since I have had this experience myself.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Textbooks are placed on the shelves by course name and number. In addition to textbooks, there are also a few school supply items as well as food and beverage items available. More school supply items, CCSF logo as a bigger selection of snack and beverage items are available at the Bookstore Annex across the street. Be prepared to see a long line during first two weeks of school. This is one of their busiest times of the year. Don’t want to wait for your textbooks to be shipped to you? Wow, what a bunch of whiner crybabies when it comes to textbooks! And the commentators are not even reviewing the bookstore — they’re complaining about the textbook prices. The bookstore does NOT set the prices, guys!
The CCSF Main Bookstore has a good interactive website that one can use to get their books. The sales are defaulted to the Used book price which I think is fair. If it were a moneygrabbing organization as some here are insisting, then the default would have been for the expensive books, right? And the shipping is set by UPS, not by CCSF. Kinda obvious.
Buying a book on the web can be cheaper, that’s true. Selling it back to CCSF, they would not care about the Web price, they would care about the new price. If you want to be dishonest and rip them off and brag about it on Unilocal,I guess that’s your own problem with dishonesty. Live and learn.
The student volunteers are friendly and helpful. It’s unfortunate they have to have a bagpack section thanks to some dishonest students and shoplifters but that’s the sign of the times.
The online site is better only because you can reserve your books well in advance of your classes. As for the price of the texts, the best thing to do is complain to the publishers. To put that on CCSF’s head is nonsense.

Nope. It just isn’t that great. And they tend to run out, but which campus bookstore doesn’t? Their registers malfunction all the time and nobody ends up to class on time. No, no, no.

The books here cost more than the classes at City College. that’s how ridiculous it is. I like that the bookstore is full of useful and interesting books but they’re so darn expensive !! If you’re lucky, you’ll have teachers who worry about the wad of cash in your wallet getting thin and make you get cheap books. If you’re unlucky, you’ll have teachers that will make you buy really expensive books. It also depends on what class you’re taking. Some books cost over $ 100. I remember my dad’s friend telling me that there’s a website where you can get cheaper books and return it to the site for some money back. I heard that you save a lot more money. not sure, but I think I’m going to try that for next semester because when you buy a book here and you return it, you get ripped off like crazy. You barely get any of the money back. Despite the high prices and ripped off returns, the bookstore has five nice things about it. The first nice thing is that you can get used textbooks which are cheaper than new ones. Second nice thing is that all the books are all under one roof so that you don’t have to go around looking all over for them and they almost always have the books that you need for your classes. it’s good for busy and lazy people. Third nice thing is that you’re reusing books. you’re helping the environment !! & saving a lot of manufacturing work. Fourth nice thing is that you’re helping the school earn money. Fifth nice thing is that the bookstore supplies jobs to some of the students. So it’s not all that bad.

CCSF charges 20/​unit and their books are like 100 bucks a class. they sell there books higher then normal.
the best to get the most out of your money is to buy the textbooks online and then sell it back to ccsf when your done wiith it. you can even break even with your textbooks most of the time when you sell it back

I’m having to buy a $ 55 CCSF only Package for a class so, can’t get it elsewhere. Yuck!
Also, shipping is high and I can only pick this up at the Phelan campus.

Feeling wealthy and lazy? This is your place for text books.
Or you can be wise and sexy like Sani and visit,
and get all your text books for half the price of this buck guzzler. + you can sell those books you buy from the net to the CCSF’s bookstore for the same amount or more once done.

I last step foot on this campus in Spring 2004, but it still seems like they are price gouging on books. Then again, I’ve been to several school campuses and it seems like a conspiracy between all college/​university bookstores and publishers to charge as much as they please. Imagine being forced to use a new edition of a book and pay $ 100 for it when all the publisher did was switch some words around. Even used books aren’t saved from the high markup. And they have the nerve to give me back $ 20 dollars for that Calculus book I bought for $ 100+. I guess the CCSF Bookstore copies their pricing policy from CompUSA. BTW,
is another good place to good books at a more reasonable price. Also you might be able to catch a «sleeper» auction once in awhile on eBay too. I was able to get a poetry book for an English class that costs $ 80 at this store, but was able to get it on eBay for a measly $ 10 shipped.

This place is super expensive. Buy the book here AND on
on the first day of school. Then return the book to ccsf bookstore on the last day they take returns. Then you get the book right away for amazon prices. =) Also a money saving tip: ask your teacher if you can get by with an older edition. This can save you between 20 and 100 dollars.

It only has textbooks and a limited amount of stationary and supplies. What sucks is for some things they send you to the «Bookstore Annex» just across the street, but even that one is limited.
Best to go to Walgreens or somewhere if you need anything besides a textbook.
