Dr Hume was the hospital assigned pediatrician at CPMC for our very healthy newborn as our regular pediatrician is in San Mateo. Her group charged us over $ 1000 for the cursory 15 – 20 min exam Dr Hume provided. Completely rip off. Avoid Dr Hume with your CPMC newborn.

Dr Hume is wonderful with both of my children and is always quick to return calls with any questions I may have. She is calm, kind, and gentle and manages to help my children feel relaxed and at ease in an environment which neither of them instinctively feel comfortable in. I am touched and impressed by just how invested she is in each child, and how obvious her commitment and compassion toward all of her patients is. I also genuinely appreciate the fact that Dr Hume (along with her colleagues) is completely non alarmist, she has managed to keep our sick doctor visits to a minimum (only when we legitimately needed to go) and has always left us feeling much calmer and confident in our child’s condition. I recommend her to any and all parents looking for a pediatrician who genuinely cares about each and everyone of their patients.

Dr. Hume is a great doctor. She is friendly and my boys love seeing her. She always patiently answers any concerns and questions that we have during our visitis.

Dr. Hume is a wonderful new addition to Dr. Langston’s Team! The Langston office offers a friendly, thorough, responsive team with amazing access to doctors when there are questions — both for illness and wellness.
We love this practice and enjoy seeing any of the doctors here, but have come to prefer Dr. Hume. As a mom of 2 young boys, she’s going through it all with us, so can offer great guidance during those well-​check appointments and knows how to help the kids get through those sick appointments. She’s so thoughtful, that once she brought in her ipod touch to distract my son during the appt., as she remembered he really didn’t like having his ears checked.
She’s thorough, thoughtful, outgoing, listens and problem solves well, and has provided our kids excellent medical attention. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

«I could sum up Dr. Hume in one word — condescending. I’m a first time mum; however, by no means call my pediatrician every five minutes with every little thing. My son is 2 months old and I noticed a change in his behavior last week. He developed a new cry sound and his crying exceeded up to 80% of his waking time. I knew that he has gas, but this cry sounded different from his „gas“ cry. I thought that it might be colic, but wanted to rule out any other potential problems. When Dr. Hume spoke to me on the phone, she asked about Kaleb’s schedule and assumed that he is just tired. I explained to her that he gets his naps, and that I’m not sure what causes him to be so unhappy. Dr. Hume then delivered her diagnosis: „He is just a high-​strung baby.“ !!! Let me tell you how mad this made me. Not only she made a character judgment without ever meeting him; babies don’t come high-​strung. They only cry if they need something (feed me, change my diaper, I have gas, etc.), or if they are in pain, which is what my worry was. I was deeply disappointed in the way Dr. Hume dealt with me. Kaleb seems to be doing ok. I have talked to some mums at my new-​mum group and also to my lactation consultant about his cries, and we might be on to what’s going on. I think that if Dr. Hume doesn’t like to deal with new parents and their concerns, she perhaps should choose a different field in medicine.»
UPDATE: Dr. Hume has personally called me, explained to me her situation and apologized. I gladly except her apology and would absolutely give her another chance. I raised he stars to 3, and perhaps after next time we speak, I can give her 5! :-)
