Cal Steam, a Wolseley Company

Please be careful when dealing with these people. My hot water heater was under warranty and failed. I had to pay for the new one and apply IN PERSON for the warranty return. I have called many times to get my money but was told a series of lies (I’ve spoken to Trisha, Robert and the manager, Mario Santos). I found out Cal Steam was credited by the manufacturer back in April. It’s September and I continue to get new dates for the application of the warranty and when the check was sent out, «The check is in the mail!». They seriously gloat and think they are funny when you get irate on the phone — and they purposefully say things to anger you then laugh about it among themselves (I heard this last bit from an insider). Stay away from them. I am headed to small claims court. They owe me $ 570. I’m also contacting the BBB.

First of all, this is a supply house, not Home Depot, so you come here for plumbing fixtures, and plumbing fixtures only. That being said, they people behind the sales counter actually know what they’re talking about, should you have to ask a question. The prices may be a bit higher than HD or Lowes or wherever, but the quality of both the parts and the service is higher by far.

A local hardware store suggested that I call Cal Steam to order a part that is made by a company who makes high-​end bathroom faucets located in Germany. Gave this location a call and spoke to a salesman and was told that since the part I am trying to order isn’t very expensive, they won’t order it since it’s not worth their time.

Before heading to home depot, check out a place like this where the professionals shop. Cal Steam carries some great classic bathroom fixtures in stock at reasonable prices. I needed to buy a pedestal sink in the am to be installed that afternoon, and they had the Kohler Memiors sink in stock for $ 300. (and even loaded it in my car). It is not a showroom experience, but if you know what you want, Cal Steam is extremely efficient and reasonable.

Shop here all the time. They have a super duper smart and awesome sales staff that know almost everything. They carrry just about everything. Little more expensive on some items but more or less average. Delivery is super fast. Maybe for me cause our company is special.
