Established in 2007.
After graduating from The FCI, Pastry chef Daniel Saravia established Cakemonger as an outlet for his sugar-loving alter ego. When he is not making desserts at his conventional «daytime» job, you can find him baking hand-crafted custom cakes, cupcakes and desserts from his kitchen in San Francisco.

Business Owner
Daniel earned his Grand Diplôme in Classic Pastry Arts from The French Culinary Institute (now called the International Culinary Center) in New York City. Shortly after leaving New York, he was hired as Pastry Chef at Home Restaurant in San Francisco, where he created contemporary interpretations of classic American desserts. In 2010, Saravia was invited by chef Jeff Banker and pastry chef Lori Baker to launch and manage the bakery at their new restaurant, Baker and Banker in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. During Daniel’s stay as Bakery Manager and Pastry Chef, the bakery and dessert menu have received top reviews from the Bay Guardian, 7×7 Magazine, and Michael Bauer at The San Francisco Chronicle.
Outside of the restaurant, Daniel creates custom, luxury cakes via his personal business, www.cakemonger.com. He is also a avid photographer and musician.
