I had to review this place since I’ve eaten there about 15 times. I always get the buffet, always fresh, always good. My favorite is the meat items at the end of The buffet… curry chicken, BBQ chicken, and other stuff like meatballs… always good!

Been here a few times for lunch now. Awesome pricing. I would challenge you to throw together a salad here for over $ 8. Not possible. All the standard salad-bar fare with and some chicken and sushi dishes. Today, they even had mac n cheese!

So delicious food! So kind owners. This is one of the good place to grab brunch and lunch in financial district! If you are working in financial district, then you should to go and stop by here to grab some food! you will never regret :) Thank you Insalata!

Fair selection of items that are fresh and more to my taste than Lee’s, Julie’s Kitchen or Chez Fayala. It is a salad bar type of set up and you can also order sandwiches and daily lunch specials. Prices are great! While everywhere charges $ 9.99/lb. of food, Café Insalata charges a tad below $ 7. It’s a steal!

Good food, nice salad bar with plenty of options. A nice lunch spot if you like classical music and want to avoid pricey trendy chain lunch spots

Awesome salad bar! Make it however you want with whatever you want. They even have hot food available. I wouldn’t necessarily call it Asian cuisine but it does have that Asian flavor to it. Very good in my book! They also have nice pastries and breakfast items. Definitely worth checking out!

So I walk by this place a lot and have always just shrugged at it, thinking it was just gonna be mediocre. Boy was I wrong. First of all, their salad bar is only $ 6.50 a pound, which is cheaper than most places. Second, their coffee is incredible. I’ve been going to Café Me and Coffee Roasters for my bagel and coffee in the morning and I’ve been making a mistake! Now, both those places are great, but this place is better and the same cost! The staff are very friendly and their prices are excellent. The asiago bagel I got was incredible, and the coffee was perfection!

I go here a couple times a month, as part of my regular rotation of salad bars in the area. The Good: Sushi Rolls as part of the salad buffet – I crave these more than anything else. Big, yummy, and totally unique to a salad bar. The Spicy Chicken is a regular staple on my salad plate as well. The guy who wraps your salad up is super nice and has an adorable apron he wears every day. Keeps me coming back! The Meh: The lettuce is always fresh, but not SUPER fresh or organic, like you would get at Green Bar(organic) and RJ’s(super fresh). Overall, I’m super happy to have this as part of my regular repertoire, although after the initial multiple-times-a-week visits when I first discovered it, It’s settled into an every-other week kind of place.

I used to grab a quick lunch here quite a bit and actually felt like I got my money’s worth, but recently, their salad bar has not been all that fresh — semi-slimy spinach, veggies, and the hot dishes have been either dried up(spicy chicken — tried and was very disappointed) or slimy — looking. I am all for supporting small businesses, but if I end up with a stomach ache a few hours after the lunch, it’s just not worth it to me. I recommend the Wildflower Café on Sansome St. instead. Always fresh(most important!) and huge selection.

I like to go here when I’m tired of eating so much meat over the week. The business operates like Yogurtland: the price of your salad depends on how much it weighs. Vegetables are decently fresh, nothing spectacular about them. A bigger variety would have been nice. Random dishes like meat lasagna, lemon chicken, or meatballs are also available if you’re not a big fan of the«only lettuce in my salad» route. The staff are really friendly.

Been coming here for years! Make sure to get a salad card so after so many salads you get one free! Always fresh food and everything is clean and neat. Owners are always smiling and cheery =)

Walking to the office from the Embarcadero Safeway & passed Café Insalata. Always wanted to walk in & grab a latte so thought today should be the day Latte — $ 3; 2 shots. There was a nice milk to coffee ratio & coffee was pretty smooth but another shot would have been ideal The people working there were nice as could be & I could totally see myself making this a regular latte stop after a morning Safeway run Have to say this place is A-OK!

My coworker and I refer to this place as the«cheap salad place.» If you’re aiming for a more top notch salad bar, Wildflower Café is a few blocks away – it has better food and a bigger variety of it. However, this place is significantly cheaper and has a pretty good salad bar itself. Nothing to write home about, but it’s quick, tastes good, the workers are friendly, and I don’t leave with that sad feeling of spending a ton of money on a freaking salad. They price per pound, so if you avoid the heavy foods(those roasted potatoes are like bricks!), then you can get out of there for only 4 or 5 bucks. Not a bad deal!

Salad bar: ingredients are decently fresh, and the selection of ingredients is fairly wide, with some uncommon but welcome choices, like hot meatball marinara. Hot items: hit or miss. I enjoy the meatball marinara, but the other choices aren’t well made or very tasty. Coffee/tea: no complaints. Decent if you don’t want to walk a block or two to the coffee truck or Starbucks. The service is usually kind and quick.

Love the spaghetti and meatballs w/salad and garlic bread on Monday and Wednesdays. Also love the couple who run the shop since they’re always cheerful and super nice =)

Bar fight. Late lunch. Fighting hunger. Very well assorted salad bar. Difficult decisions. Lemon chicken. Tofu. Spicy BBQ chicken. Wanted everything. Plus the grilled potatoes. Corn. Peas. Bread Had to make a decision: — Go big with one.(most people) — Go big with a medley of everything.(me) At $ 5.99 a pound you can get out the door with something delicious for less than a Lincoln.

Myself being a Fresh Choice /Sweet Tomatoes patron… I passed by this establishment and became automatically interested. Walking in, you notice their nice salad bar with all the usual ingredients you would find to make an awesome salad. NOTE: They charge by the weight… that being said. my salad came out to be like $ 9.00! No fear, I loved every bite of it… When I go to Fresh Choice, my plate looks like a little mountain of freshness. but here, I will have to be conscious about how much I pack on. I love making my protein salads… perfect for a light lunch… which helps me during my workouts after work. I recommend it for those looking for a nice health alternative.

Another solid place for lunch in the FiDi and luckily for me, it’s the close to my office! They offer a full salad bar, hot entrees, and sandwiches. I have yet to try their sandwiches, but I am a fan of their salad bar. There are tons of options as far as lettuce goes — mixed greens, spinach, iceberg, romaine — and tons of toppings, as well as dressings. They also have different sides as well — like caprese salad. They charge you by the pound so you can get a good amount of food for cheap! I never pay more that ~$ 6 for a huge plate of salad. The service is quick and the staff is really kind. Definitely a good spot to grab some lunch!

I work a block away and I go there ONLY when i really have to. No much selection on the salad and the hot entrees are not good: dry chicken, slimy chicken or salty chicken… your choice! Togos next door is better… avoid this one
