Bumblebee Academy

Both my son (5 years old) and daughter (3.5 years old) go to Bumblebee and they both started there when they were a little over 2.5 years old. We had toured a number of different preschools in the area, and also a few in Downtown San Francisco (where my husband and I work). While Bumblebee doesn’t have the fanciest or biggest facility, what won us over was the quality and care of the teachers (Sandy, Cindy, Kelly and Laura) and the director (Tiffany). I can truly say that after dropping off my kids in the morning (they’re always excited to go) that I trust 100% that my kids are having fun, learning, and being well cared for and loved. The class sizes are small, so I know that my kids are getting plenty of one-​on-​one attention. And it certainly shows in terms of their learning. My son will be going to Kindergarten in the Fall and I have no doubt that he’ll be ready. He can easily write his first and last names, he knows all of his letters and numbers, can do basic addition and subtraction and read simple words. But most importantly, they’ve really instilled in him a love of learning and it’s great to see him so enthusiastic about the things he’s learned at school. A little while back we noticed that our daughter didn’t seem to be picking up the alphabet as quickly as my son did. While we realize that all children learn at different speeds, we did bring it up with the staff and they quickly assured us that they’d work with her more on it. And sure enough, within a month we were delighted by her progress. But more than just academics we feel that our kids have picked up a lot of great «soft» skills. They work on basic manners like always saying «please» and «thank you» (ha-​ha, and my daughter even says things like «I appreciate it when you…»), they’re encourage to positively express their emotions, and handle conflict resolution in a positive way. Overall, it’s been an incredibly amazing experience for us at Bumblebee. They’ve truly provided a family-​like environment that has been wonderful for our kids.

We love this little preschool! Our 2 oldest kids have graduated from this preschool and now we have our 3^rd currently enrolled Bumblebee.
What we really value most about this school is the low child to teacher ratio which allows the teachers to give each child individualized care and attention. Our youngest showed an interest in learning at a very early age, and Bumblebee really help to foster his love in learning and played a tremendous part in his ability to read at a 2^nd grade level at age 3.
The teachers and Director are caring, loving and fun! We could not recommend this school enough for anyone that wants to have their children be in an environment that creates a love for learning through play and creativity.

Clean, bright and safe environment, as well as friendly, skilled, and caring professionals. I found a perfect balance of play, creativity and learning for our daughter at Bumblebee.
All of the extras that they do as well through the year were a true reward and treasure.

Our oldest daughter attended Bumblebee for three years and loved every minute of it. She had zero problems getting into the private kindergarten we wanted and from a public school perspective is probably right at the first grade level much less the kindergarten level based on what we observed in our tours. (Able to read three letter words, do basic addition, etc.)
Tiffany, the director, is very involved with every aspect of the school and she and the rest of the teachers are not only competent and qualified, but also caring and truly invested in the well-​being, happiness, and academic enrichment of every one of the kids. This goes without saying, but the structure of the days, weeks, and the school year as a whole are all grounded in sound developmental theory and practice and are further enhanced by field trips and extra-​curricular events.
Our younger kids are about ready to go to the school as well and we expect the same TLC and skill building experiences with them as we did with our older child.
