Want to update you on my visits with Dr. Balbon. I was away for about ²¹⁄₂ months caring for family members and unable to receive my regular treatment care. Well let my tell you, I have been overridden with debilitating depression, insomnia, headaches, prolapse returning to name most of the problems. I was able to get into the office today. I have energy this evening and I’m not feeling depressed at all! That’s amazing.

I have been in both locations but my favorite is the one in mission St. The office is very welcoming and Patty will assist you with all you needs thank you so much see you in couple of days Dr. Balbon you are the best and thank you!!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Balbon for about two months after being diagnosed with a slipped disc. In that time I have experienced a significant reduction of pain and symptoms. I’ve been able to run and cycle again without pain — awesome! I appreciate the doctors patience in listening to symptoms and following through with a consistent therapy where I’ve seen amazing results. Always on time, the mission office is nice in convenient location.

Obviously very experienced doctor. I have only been to the Mission Street office. It is in line with the other offices in the area, décor wise.
I have seen chiropractors all of my life. Dr. Balbon, from my non-​chiropractor perspective, seems to be a top notch adjuster and very thorough.
I am a fan. He is my doctor!

Through my years of lower back pain, I have come across many chiropractors. Dr. Brian Balbon is the absolute BEST. With a sincere and sweet disposition, he very carefully listens to the existing problems and does his best to come up with the correct course of action. He has helped me TREMENDOUSLY with my pain, In addition, his office is very clean, well organized and well kept. I have nothing but positive things to say!

I started seeing Dr. Balbon for neck pain about two years ago and have come back whenever I do something wrong to my neck and be it only sitting in front of the computer screen for too long. More recently I had problems in the back and he took care of that with a few sessions. Dr. Balbon gives really great adjustments and good advice on doing neck exercises at home. His office always accommodates my busy schedule. They may not star brand new furniture, but I prefer excellent treatment to that any day of the week.

I am sorry, but this business owner has written letters to my home and work address (which he only had access to as part of my medical records) in order to convince me to change my review. He just called my work number to talk to me. This level of harassment is unacceptable. The fact remains that I bought a Unilocal deal that was valued at $ 55, so should have been given a free first visit, but my insurance was billed. Perhaps I never should have given him my insurance card, but I just gave it to him as part of the process and never thought I would regret it. I have a limited number of chiropractor/​physical therapy visits per year under my health care plan, so when this was billed to insurance, it cut down my total for the year. I found a physical therapy practitioner who was actually helpful, so I wasn’t pleased at this outcome and thought I should note it for future folks who might buy a Unilocal deal.
If you don’t have a Unilocal deal, it might work for you, but if you dare to post a bad Unilocal review, be prepared to be harassed.

I was referred to Dr Balbon and I must say, I am glad I went to see him! My 3 children and I were in a car accident and I had upper and lower back pain. Dr. Balbon took care of me and even has the patience and knowledge to treat my children! He’s amazing. His office is convenient to my area and you leave feeling relaxed. My kids love going for their therapy! Thank you Dr. Balbon

Dr. Balbon is a great healer and a very dedicated Chiropractor. I have been a patient of his for over 12 years and have always been pleased with his work. He is extremely thorough in his treatments and always keeps up with new techniques.
He is always trustworthy, professional and a conscientious and honest practitioner.
Being a woman, I feel completely safe and well cared for by his practice, he has great communication with his patients, speaks English and Spanish. His prices are reasonable and will bill insurance for you. He has 2 offices, in the Mission and on Ocean Ave, he keeps very flexible office hours and always makes time for me.
I highly recommend his work and will continue to recommend him to my friends.

I came in with a sharp pain in my back that was causing me grief for days. Dr Balbon was great. I left the clinic feeling like a new man. Went for a second check up a day or two after, and there was no pain left.
I pulled something yesterday, again. I think it might be my 80 lb dog tugging on me as I walk him. Walking to the clinic now, with the confidence that I will be feeling better soon.

Dr. Balbon is a great chiropractor who listens and cares. I originally went to him for a severe back pain from playing hockey. I could barley get out of a car. After a few visits and some other treatments I was back on track!
Now I go for «tune ups» to keep my back in healthy condition. Back pain is no fun.
I highly recommend him!
Oh, he also is great about last minute visits and has a super nice assistant.

yes i do like this place a lot cus, since i hurt my self at work many years ago, and i practice! marshal arts and hard worker, and i been hurting my back many times, in many areas of it, and every time a go he always fix it! and the next day I’m like new again! thanks! I’m highly recommended to any one, and it’s very flexible in prices.

I have been attending Dr. Balbon practice for maybe 2 years now due to my recurrent condition of muscle strains. His office is nicely located in the heart of the mission and the entrance has just been remodeled. He and Patricia (his assistant) are very welcoming, friendly, and make you feel comfortable. I do believe they accept major insurance company and I never had an issue processing payment thru my insurance. Dr. Balbon is very skilled and I enjoy very much heading there at times 2 or 3 days a week for adjustments, electrophysiotherapy, deep tissue massage, and stretching. Following my appointment I feel much better, pain free, and able to resume activities. Therefore in case you are looking for a skill and talented chiropractor in the mission I strongly recommend attending Dr. Balbon practice.

Have not been to many Chiropractic offices but I’ve never seen and office like this. Old outdated and just creepy looking office. Dr Balbon seemed legit and a bit creepy himself. Def do not recommend woman to come here because you will probably feel uncomfortable by the office zen. after all i did get aligned but I will not go back.

I have never been to a Chiropractor before, but found out my work insurance covers it. I’ve had some issues with my back, but never thought to have it looked at or try anything.
Dr. Balbon answered the phone when I called, after checking these reviews, and told me that he could see my that same night, and he would even come to the Ocean Ave. office to meet me. I was impressed by this, and scheduled the appointment. He was 10 minutes late to the appointment, but since it was late afternoon, I didn’t have much to do, and figured he was still on his way from the other office.
Filled out paperwork (gah, so much paperwork!), and then had a brief interview with him about what I put down on the paperwork, and why, and he was very detail oriented to understand why I put the answers I did, very thorough.
He had me stand in various formats, and then did some reflex tests. Then he had me lay down faceup, and did some stretches with my legs. I found out that my right leg is slightly shorter than my left, which was weird… isn’t it really weird learning these things about yourself? He took note of when my legs and lower body wouldn’t stretch enough as they should. He then did some stretches and popped my back a few times while laying face up, which was interesting — and he took note that my back was the same — very tight.
He started adjusting my neck, and actually cracked it on each side at least four times on each side. I have never been able to manually crack my neck, always just happens naturally, and boy do I feel great! I felt it immediately, but within two hours I really felt much more lose than before, and relaxed. Slept very good that night.
He took some X-​rays also of me, and asked me to come back on Tuesday. I look forward to learning more about myself, and to feel better from his work.

I had been going to Dr. Balbon off and on for at least 7 years, and then tried acupuncture for my chronic lower back pain. It worked once and that was it. Meanwhile I was developing these very sharp pain spasms in my middle back. They started in November of this year, into December. So I called Dr. Balbon the Saturday before Christmas. He took me right away, and started a series of treatments, almost every other day between Christmas and New Years, and by the 3^rd session, my middle back pain was disappearing. As of today, my 4^th session, the pain is completely gone. I am so thankful to Dr. Balbon and his good work for getting this under control as I am leaving Jan 2^nd for a week vacation in Florida and I couldn’t bear the thought of dealing with this pain while on vacation. I feel great, my mood is great and I plan to set up monthly appointments for preventive maintenance as soon as I get back. If you are looking for a great chiropractor, I highly recommend Dr. Brian Balbon. He has offices on Ocean Avenue and Mission St. and always makes time for you no matter when you call.

I rarely write a review, but when there is a gem provider in the community like Dr Balbon, i will.
I started working out intensely at 45 in a local boxing gym. I had been a couch potato most of my life, but I loved the rush I got from boxing workouts.
At 45 I was working out like a 20 year old in training for a real fight – 200 push-​ups, 150 burpies, etc etc. 3x to 4x a week. i got into really great shape, but my shoulders started to hurt and I ignored it and kept working out!!! Now at 50 year old, I have some shoulder injuries from over use and a stiff back. I could not work out at all, cause my arms were killing me. I was in big time pain especially in my left rotator cuff. I could not lift my arm without pain.
First, I went to kaiser and they referred me to PT, but the male therapist was looking at MORE THAN my arm and back!!! With this vibe going it felt so uncomfortable – I just stopped going – and I suffered for another year until the pain became intense.
After this experience, I was hesitant to go to a male provider and I looked for a female provider on the Kaiser
Chiropractic list, in SF, who was taking patients to no avail. I booked an appointment with Balbon as a last resort.
Dr Balbon has been very professional, gentle and focused on my healing. I had gained weight after being inactive for so long; he weighes me at my request each visit.
After 4 visits and deep tissue massage on the rotator cuff – I feel 90% better over-​all because of Balbon healing touch. I just got clearance after my 5^th visit from Dr Balbon to go back to my sport, but I learned a huge lesson about balance. With the doctor’s continued support, i will continue to exercise and rebuild my core strength more gently, so that I may age with grace, continue to walk with good posture without a wheelchair in my golden years and respect the limits of my joints, bones etc.

If you’re looking for a pushy, ‘schedule a lot of visits’ chiropractor, don’t look here. Dr. Balbon is very empathetic and cares enough to make sure you have the right kind of treatment. He’s been treating me for many years, including after a rear-​end car accident. I’m certain I recovered more quickly due to his treatments.

Dr. Balbon has been taking care of my back for about three years, and he’s been great. He’s gentle but effective and has resolved my various stiff neck/​back spasm issues quickly.
His staff is really nice, it’s easy to get in when you need to, they doesn’t try to upsell a bunch of stuff (or pull the «you have to be adjusted every week forever» rap that other practitioners trot out).
Dr. Balbon is very low-​key and a good listener. Oh yeah, and he and his staff are fluent in Spanish and English.
His Mission Street office is a little shabby, and street parking is a pain, but his office does validate parking in one of the local garages.
