We offer specialties in Stock Options (ISO, NQ, Restricted Stock, RSU, ESPP), California Registered Domestic Partnerships (RDP), Multi-​State tax returns, Part-​Year/​Non-​Resident tax returns and various large complex tax returns.

We can also handle correspondence with the IRS and Franchise Tax Board and the filing of delinquent tax returns.

History

Established in 1995.

Bogdan & Frasco, LLP was started in San Francisco by Greg Bogdan and Alexander Frasco when they branched off the tax department at a bankruptcy and litigation firm. Since then, we have established ourselves as a boutique premium tax firm that focuses on client personal service. We are committed to our clients and look forward to the long-​term relationships that develop. We’ve been located in the beautiful City of San Francisco since 1995. We are BART and MUNI accessible from the Montgomery St. station.

I had some really complicated tax questions regarding some stock options and ended up going with Bogdan & Frasco. I worked with JT and couldn’t be happier with the results. He did a really great job walking me through everything and was really thorough making sure all my bases were covered. When tax time came, he took care of everything, making it my most painless tax filing yet (even though my taxes were more complicated than they’ve ever been). Along the way, he even helped me fix some of my other finances saving me a bunch of money. Highly recommended!

Full disclosure: I am a former CPA employed at Bogdan & Frasco and was not solicited to write anything. Clients don’t know what goes behind the scenes when they get their accounting and tax work done. But, I can assure you that B&F performs the best quality work that I have seen in my career. Nearly everyone on staff has a vast amount of tax experience, a CPA license, or Masters in Taxation. Generally the focus is on successful startups, business owners, and high earners. Also, registered domestic partnership and trust work is a specialty. Best to my old firm, they do a great job.

Similar to another review below, I called in and got some very solid advice and answers to a few questions I had, even though I’m not engaged with Bogdan & Frasco. Amazing service.
I spoke with Greg directly even though we figured out earlier in the call that it perhaps was not the right fit at this time (my business is very straightforward and simple), Greg took a good 20 minutes to give me an overview of some things to think about. So much more than other firms have done for me so far and I enjoyed his balanced approach to several tax matters.
Assuming that they go about their business like this all the time I’d highly recommend speaking to Greg and his team. Rare to find such high levels of professionalism.

I gotta say, they are pricey, BUT I love my accountant there. His name is JT and he rocks. Any time the IRS puts the squeeze on me he’s always there to help me out and explain what’s going on. Ask for him and tell him I sent ya.

Switched over To Bogdan after our old accountant was always twice as expensive as he estimated he would be. Bogdan looked over the previous two years tax returns and immediately saw that the old accountant made an error and we had overpaid our taxes significantly. Bogdan also came in cheaper than our old accountant. He’s easy to get hold of, very responsive, and just a plain nice guy. Bogdan in a rock star.

So my boyfriend had this complicated tax problem, and since he is what I call «financeophobic,» I told him I’d try to help him find someone to straighten it out. I read the review for Bogdan & Frasco and checked out their website and decided to give them a call. I ended up on the phone with Sande McGarry, who told me up front that she didn’t think she was the right person for the job, but then she spent half an hour talking to me about my boyfriend’s situation so she could give me what advice she could and refer me to someone else. She told me she’d call me back the following week, but I actually heard from her the next day and she referred me to someone outside her firm who was a perfect fit for his case both in terms of expertise and personality-​wise.
So while she didn’t actually do any accounting work for me, I think the fact that she voluntarily took all that time to help me out shows that she:
1. really cares about helping people with their financial situations
2. is very knowledgeable, but also willing to say when she is not the right person for the job
and
3. is just really cool and nice
All of these are, I think, qualities that make for a good accountant.

I knew our accountant personally before professionally, so I was a little concerned when he turned the corner for our first «meet and greet» and he had a beer in his hand. Not just any beer, but Stella and enough for all of us. My concerns were immediately alleviated when the meeting began because he was all business and surprisingly knowledgeable about tax laws. The process was as painless as taxes could be and we were happy with the outcome. The only problem we had was that it took so long for our taxes to get filed this is who will be bringing our returns this year:

Addendum: During our extension our accountant was able to exponentially increase our returns. I tried to convince him we should just keep extending our filing and increasing our returns. He informed me it doesn’t work that way. Stupid Tax Laws.
