He has always been a cyclist and his first job was doing bike repair for the Ann Arbor Parks & Rec Dept. Scott now serves on the board of directors for the sunburst projects, a non-​profit assisting children infected or affected by HIV/​AIDS. I contacted Scott Love when I was involved in a collision with a taxi 2 years ago today (I was on a bicycle and the driver was clearly at fault). He responded immediately and after a 30-​minute discussion where he asked great questions and demonstrated both interest and compassion, recommended I handle my situation in small claims. He advised me the best way to pursue my claim and has been helpful along the way.
I’m not technically Scott’s client, but I feel as though I have a trusted advisor who is willing to help me find a fair settlement. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Scott and while I hope I never need his services, would not hesitate to contact him again.

I was hit by a drunk driver when cycling my bike in Market street. After a bit of research I contacted Scott who offered me reasonable conditions to deal with my case. Despite my case turned quite ugly when we noticed that the driver’s licence was suspended when he hit me and he was driving a car that was not hers, Scott keep commited with the case and managed to negotiate a good settlement with the insurance company. I am very satisfied from his work: the results we achieved, his honesty dealing with the case and his flexibility when we had to accommodate unexpected circumstances arising during the case.

Scott’s a biker himself, so he gets it.
I was in a minor bike accident that resulted in more trouble than necessary because the driver was underinsured, underemployed, and from out of state. I would’ve taken care of it myself if I wasn’t dealing with school and PTSD. I contacted a few law firms before I knew about Bicycle Defender, and they declined to take up my case because it was too small. I was about to lose my mind when Scott picked it up. He took care of EVERYTHING and went out of his way to help me out, even though there wasn’t much money in this case for him.

I am working with Scott on a case where a motorist ran into me.
Scott is a regular guy. He and his wife both bike. Scott’s passionate about serving cyclists because so many do not have full insurance coverage for bike accidents, and can end up in serious difficulty. He’s the opposite of those greasy lawyer ambulance-​chasers on daytime TV advertising slots.
Scott is empathetic, well-​seasoned and persistent. He has helped me to articulate my goal for the case, explained the process clearly, proposed next steps and is pushing through with the claim. He is taking on the burden for me, when I’m not in the best place to deal with the case myself.
