Patient and gentle. This is the best experience I’ve had going to the dentist. Dr. Lee is very careful and listens to her patient’s needs. Not only did she navigate my dental problems without causing me any discomfort but she basically took my pain away from me. Her work was very effective.

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Lee… hands down best dentist experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was extremely personable, from the minute I walked in until the minute I left. I felt like I was actually being cared for, unlike some other places I’ve been (cough, Kaiser, cough). She explained everything to me in detail and in a way I understood, without making me feel stupid for not knowing. I also haven’t been to the dentist in about 5 years and was never once made to feel bad or ashamed about it, which was great. They handled all of my insurance information and explained all the costs to me, without any pressure to schedule follow-​up appointments. It’s such a relief to go in knowing what you are going to pay and not get a bill in the mail later for some random amount (again, Kaiser). If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Lee’s office.

I first visited Dr. Lee’s office for a consultation and then also for a cleaning. She was very personable and took time to explain what was happening with my teeth in a way I could understand. She wrote me a care plan so I knew what to expect going forward. Her staff were all very professional and happy to answer any questions I had.
On my next appointment I came in because I had coloration on my teeth from drinking lots of tea. They came out sparkly white and clean! I was so relieved that the coloration came off!
Overall the office is comfortable and relaxing place to visit. The location is super convenient being right on the corner of 9^th & Irving so it’s easy to jump on the N line Muni. I highly recommend Dr Lee and her staff for a great dental experience!

Didn’t even make it to my appointment to see Dr. Lee. I’m sure she’s great but each time I called and talked to the front office it was a chore to make an appointment or get any information out of them. First, it was a conversation about insurance coverage that made me feel like I was inept and in the twilight zone. Then, I explained that I have a broken crown — receptionist (Jeanette) explained that they don’t have an open appt until January (two months from now). I asked if it would be appropriate to wait that long considering it is a fairly big crack — and that my tooth is pretty exposed. Her answer? «Well I’m not sure how to answer that since we’ve never seen you». How about getting the doctor’s general opinion or having the doctor give me a call? And then when she finally relented and said she had an early December appt to check on the tooth (of course — isn’t it standard practice to save at least an appt or two here and there for emergency/​more urgent visits anyway!!!) she explained that maybe I should see another doctor because they are closed for the following two weeks. I just felt as though every effort was being made to keep me from being a patient of Dr. Lee’s, so I’ll be taking my mouth elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lee and crew since they were recommended by my hometown dentist in Sacramento (she happened to work with him) who I had been with for over 20 years. As sad as I was to switch, it’s been an incredibly smooth transition (not to mention a much shorter drive!)
Dr. Lee and her staff are extremely considerate and exercise a great deal of care in catering to each patient’s individual needs. The office and front desk staff are great as well, including their reminder system (via Demand Force). My only suggestion is that they update the video options you can watch on the overhead monitors while your mouth is being worked on!

What a great experience! Dr. Lee taught me more about my teeth and proper dental care in one hour than I had learned in my whole life. I feel very lucky to have found her.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Lee for a few years now, and the bottom line is that she’s an excellent dentist and she REALLY cares about your teeth.
I recently had a dental emergency over the weekend and had to page her — something I do not take lightly as I believe everyone has a right to time off, but I was in a ton of pain and would not have made it through the night without her assistance.
Besides that, her staff is always very friendly, helpful, and thorough. She also uses state of the art equipment, which was a huge change from my previous dentist.
I’m very grateful that someone referred me to her. So are my teeth.

This is by far the best dentist I have been to. The level of care is amazing, you can see that Dr. Natasha cares about her work and that she is really great at what she does. I love the fact that she is a perfectionist (just like me :)) and that she does not stop until everything is perfect. She uses all the latest gadgets and machines.
My first visit was awesome — she took all my information and stared asking me about whether something hurts (even a little), so I said that I have this mild persistent ache in the left jaw joint, nothing too bad, but kind of irritating (I had this for months), so she started looking and found that my previous dentist did not make a good tooth filling, so all my bite was hitting 2 spots making my left side exert the muscle more intensely. She adjusted the filling RIGHT AWAY for free. The pain was gone within 2 days and never came back.
Also, she gave me a quote for all the work I will need and the quote is 3 times cheaper then my previous dentist gave me.
Wow, could not been happier.

Okay, seriously — love those helicopter video tours of gorgeous locales. Today’s French Riviera and Italy DVDs made three hours in the dentist chair fly by. I totally forgot to pay attention to all the drilling and painting and hard-​drying and scraping and suctioning.
Plus, I too like that weird suction gadget thingy. It keeps my tongue from bouncing around and getting in harm’s way.
And great staff! All of them! Especially Ada!

I first visited Dr. Lee based on a recommendation from my co-​worker approx 5 years ago. I moved to NYC 3 years ago and still have her as my primary dentist. Why would someone retain a long distance dental relationship? She is that good…
Often I was surprised at the gadgets she would produce from visit to visit. My work life balance is pretty terrible so when I showed up for a filling hungry and exhausted, imagine my elation when she introduced this comfy tooth wedge that propped my mouth open for me. Imagine taking a nap during a filling! That is how comfy she made it (although she prob wouldn’t recommend sleeping during her procedures). It’s cool to know your dentist is actively pursuing the latest tools in her trade to make the experience much better for her patients (it’s right in the name of her business)
Ever had your teeth cleaned to Depeche Mode? It’s much cooler than it sounds.

Update: Dr. Lee took the time to write me a rather lengthy rebuttal to my review and reimburse me for some of the costs I’d paid.
While I still won’t be returning, it was a nice surprise.

I’ve had my fair share of dental drama in my life, so I very much appreciate having a dentist that I trust.
When I first saw Dr. Lee about 2 years ago and had more cavities to fill than my insurance would cover, she and her team helped me to prioritize the work over a period of time to maximize my coverage. They also offered to help set me up with a very low interest (possibly no interest, I can’t remember) payment plan.
Since that time, Dr. Lee has really helped me become proactive about taking care of my teeth, to the point where I had NO cavities at my last visit (for the first time in 5 years)!!!
Beyond the good doctor herself, there are other reasons to like BLTD. Her hygienists are friendly and skillful (they are also often dental students that Dr. Lee mentors, which is sort of cool), the receptionist is helpful and organized, you can watch Planet Earth while you get your cavities filled, and there is a Morrissey poster on the wall in one of the exam rooms.

Best dental experience I’ve ever had, …HANDS DOWN.
…With that said…
I have had PLENTY of dental work my life and its to the point where now I’m having to get stupid root canals. I had to get one in LA while I was visiting friends and had 3 weeks to get a crown. Low and behold, I was able to go and get one on the SAME visit made out of porcelain!
Dr. Lee was awesome and the procedure was painless. They even have little TVs that keep you entertained with beautiful places in the world where you’d probably rather be than sitting in that chair! Why doesn’t anyone else do this?!

I JUST came back from my first appointment with Dr Lee, and I was so impressed I wanted to write.
I have teeth that easily get cavities. So I’ve had a lot of dental work in my life. She did THE MOST comprehensive exam I have ever had, hands down. She was really nice, explained everything to me, and prescribed me special toothpaste to help with my cavity prone teeth.
I was/​am concerned about money, and she’s going to get back to me with a plan of care for my husband’s teeth and mine that work from very necessary, to less necessary so that we can take care of some now, then save for the rest.
I’m going back for a cleaning tomorrow.
If I could give her 6 stars, I would.

I just went for my second appointment. I was super cold and Dr. Lee noticed and her response was: «Oh! You should have told me! I’ll turn up the heat and get you a blanket!»
3 minutes later I’m ensconced in a soft blue blanket and hear and feel the heat turn on. No joke.
Also, my crown feels great.
Seriously, best dentist ever.

Wow! Dr. Lee is awesome. I was referred to her by my childhood dentist in Petaluma, who I was afraid of leaving for so long… but, it was an emergency. I was so lucky to get in on such a busy day, right before Christmas when they are totally booked. They made an exception for me in such short notice, and I really appreciate it.
I’ve been in SF for four years now and always ended up driving an hour away to see my old dentist. Thank god I found Natasha Lee! She will be my new permanent dentist. She is amazingly comfortable, hip, cool to talk to, and intelligent.

After reading my post here, Dr. Lee wrote me a detailed 3 paged letter detailing her diagnosis and treatment recommendations; including photos of my teeth and journal articles. While I truly appreciate this outreach, I confess my eyes glazed over by page 2.
Let me just clarify on here that I do not question Dr. Lee’s thoroughness and professionalism. I still can’t drop over $ 2k on my oral health at the moment and have chosen other options that is good stopgaps. Perhaps I’ll go back to Dr. Lee when I can prioritize my teeth and save up more Benjamins.

I predict that no one will ever give Dr. Lee anything less than 5 stars. If someone does, then that person has either never been to another dentist and has no real reference for comparison, OR, more likely, they are dangerously, criminally insane.
This is unquestionably the best dentist office in the world. It has A) the best dentist, 2) the best equipment, and finally, no doubt the best staff ever to work in a dentist office, and one more thing, the artwork on the walls is consistently interesting.
I’ve been going here since Dr. Lee started the practice and continued to go even after moving out of the city. I would continue to go to see Dr. Lee if I moved out of the country. Why not? International flight fares can be purchased, but a PERFECT dentist is a once-​in-​a-​lifetime find.
I know from hard experience just how bad a bad dentist can be. A mediocre dentist is no great shakes, either. A good dentist is a rare gem. A PERFECT dentist is blissful, wonderful, a huge boost to one’s overall quality of life. Never underestimate the importance of a dentist and what she safeguards.
