Custom Picture Framing
History
Established in 2015.
Kingmond and Mary Young have occupied the space at 416 Cortland Ave in beautiful Bernal Heights, San Francisco since 1999. In the beginning, Kingmond Young Photography was the sole business at this location. In 2010, a photo gallery was added to showcase examples of Kingmond’s photography and to sell prints to locals and visitors.
It was soon apparent that the available readymade frames that Kingmond was using for his photographs were not the best way to show his work. Altering photographic images to fit ready made frames can be frustrating. Why not create custom frames to show the artwork as it was meant to be seen? This brought a whole new element to Kingmond’s work, and local customers seemed to love the idea of being able to bring Bernal «Neighborhood Style» into their homes. It didn’t take long before gallery customers were bringing in their own artwork for framing. Thus, Bernal Village Frame Design was born!
