My daughter and I have been going to Selina Fowler for over 5 years. I love the color, cut, and styling every time! We appreciate the great products and styling tips she recommends to help us maintain our hair between visits. She has done my hair for special events and my daughter’s hair and make-​up for prom, graduation, and other special events. Both of us feel beautiful and elegant and receive so many compliments! We completely trust her and know that she will make us look and feel beautiful! I appreciate so much about Selina — I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

I have had my hair trimmed on a regular basis by Danlel Hancock for the past 5 years. Daniel did my updo for my wedding several years ago and I was hooked! Love Daniel! I’m very picky with my styling and color. I definitely give him major props for putting up with me always wanting to change my hair color and styling! He always does a great job and listens carefully to what I’m saying. I have been seeing him for 5 years and won’t go anywhere else.

Cirilo is a magician! I have been getting my hair cut by Cirilo for a couple of years now so this review is long overdue! He is an absolute gem and such an artist. My hair is long and medium blonde and I used to get highlights every time I had it cut. With Cirilo, I get an ombré done twice/​year. It’s incredible! My hair is healthy and looks completely natural and I always leave the salon very happy as he does a beautiful job cutting it. Plus he’s such a lovely person and we always have fun catching up. I would highly recommend him! Thank you Cirilo :) I also want to add that the other staff are super friendly and it’s easy to make appointments. Such a great salon! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I came to Berenice for a Deva cut with Blair. I have curly hair and came to the salon with a long hair to have it cut shorter and to give it a nice style. What I ended up having was a bad, uneven cut, with a lot of my hair not cut at all and sticking out in a terrible way.
I have a lot of hair, it is not like the Deva cut catalogs where you can count the number of ringlets on the model’s head. I have A LOT of hair. And I think that was the reason I was given a very bad haircut.
Blair spent over two hours on my hair, which was a red flag. She is really nice and I appreciate that she tried hard, but she probably didn’t have the skill set to give me a haircut. I wish when she saw the amount of hair I have, she realized it is outside her area of expertise and refused to cut my hair. Instead, she spent over two hours, probably got lost in the large amount of my hair and gave me a bad haircut. There is a lot of my hair that has not been cut at all and stick out since they are much longer than the rest. My hair is completely uneven and has no style or shape to it.
The thing about curly hair, when you have a lot of it, is that even with a bad haircut you can style it in a way that the uneven cuts are not too obvious, especially to those who do not have curly hair and find it pretty no matter what style it has. And that is what I have been doing for the past few weeks; spending a lot of time on my hair everyday to make it look normal until it is long enough to cut it again. And I won’t be able to even straighten the hair since the unevenness becomes completely obvious.
I will not come back to Berenice for a haircut and I will not recommend it to my friends with curly hair. I wasted a lot of time and money to end up having a bad haircut. Now I have to find another salon to fix the bad cut, so I will be losing even more :(

Sadly, this salon did not work out for me. I came here a while ago to touch up on my blonde highlights that I did at my regular «go-​to» salon. Bad choice! I should have stuck with my regular salon but I can’t help that I tend to venture out, sometimes.
After the hair stylist was done with my highlights, I saw that she did a bad job. The hair color that she applied DID NOT match my previous highlights, so the top section of my hair was wayyyyyy too light compared to the rest of my hair. The hair stylist told me that after a few washes, the color will cool down, but I knew it wouldn’t because the color was almost white! They would not fix it that day because there was another customer waiting to be seen. So, the stylist told me that if I wasn’t satisfied after a few days, then call the salon and she can fix it.
I called the salon a few days after my visit. However, they DON’T ANSWER THEIR PHONES! I’ve called a few times throughout the day and there was no answer.
Overall, their customer service is bad for the price they charge. I wished they would have told me from the jump that the hair stylist was not experienced with coloring my hair type.

This is the BEST salon I’ve ever been to after living in multiple cities! Jenny has been doing my color and cut and is beyond wonderful. I can walk in and just ask her what I should do and 100% trust whatever she chooses will look great. Everyone is super friendly and I’m sure the other stylists are equally is wonderful. I highly recommend Jenny for any service especially if you have long and thick hair.

I live in Portland and was recently in San Fransisco for a wedding. The night before I left I got my hair done in Portland and my stylist turned my hair orange! My friend recommended Berenice Salon and lucky David had an opening. David did an incredibly job on my hair. The color was beautiful and natural. Not only did he correct my hair color but he made it stunning! I wish I lived in San Fransisco so I could have him as my stylist always! I highly recommended David.

They stayed open for me and did a great job

I have been going to David Morris for a couple of years now. He does THE best natural looking blonde highlights. My hair always looks sun kissed and not streaky or brassy. David is so kind and personable and really makes you feel comfortable (offers you water when you arrive, gets you magazines while you sit under the dryer, chats with you if you want or not). He is conservative with color and cut and is careful not to cut too short or color too much. He will always go back and do more if you want, and if you for any reason don’t love your hair when you get home (even if it’s because you changed your mind about what you wanted) he will fix or change it for you at no cost. His prices are extremely reasonable, especially for SF and the location is so convenient. Thank you David!!!

David is seriously amazing. He has a contagious positive attitude and does his work fast/​efficiently. I was one of those people that walked in with a few pictures of what I wanted and he took that and ran with it. I couldn’t be happier with the results. My cut and color were on point. I have officially found my go-​to guy and would HIGHLY recommend him.

Berenice was a great recommendation by a friend of a friend when I was in need for a new stylist. I highly recommend Cirilo for cut and color. Having blonde hair, it’s always a risky move changing stylist and I have had nothing but a fantastic experience with him. He is so patient and was spot on with the results I was looking for (and so reasonably priced!). Even when my mother was looking for someone to jump in for a hair cut, Cirilo gave her a great cut, and she’s a tough woman to please. The staff at Berenice is always friendly and the studio is clean, as well. Love that they carry Oribe!

I have been going to David Morris for 15 years and he does amazing work for such a great price. I can’t recommend him enough and look forward to always getting a great cut/​color combined with a lovely experience. David isn’t happy unless you are thrilled. I always leave happy!

FANTASTIC SMOOTHING TREATMENT by Blair Everett. I’ve been stuck with curly hair all my life, yeah I know «oh your sooo lucky» trust me that’s not the case especially in SF where the weather changes every 3 seconds. I’ve been going to Blair for years (she the only one who get my hair color and highlights not to mention my cut perfect)
So she contacts me to remind me of an upcoming appointment and mentions that she is doing a Smoothing Treatment for Curly Hair would I be interested?
YA THINK… you bet, made the appointment had a couple of martini’s before I went in just to get my courage up, cuz I know you have all heard of straightening styles like the Brazilian or Japanese, the one thing they never tell you is that the main ingredient in these products is formaldehyde, yup you got it formaldehyde. Last thing I want on my hair or anywhere near me if you know what I mean.
I get there, she asks me how smooth do I want it and describes in detail, what levels I can do, what I can expect (so basically I wasted $$ on the martini’s)
Put it on just like your getting you hair colored, no strong smell or burning scalp. Once it was out my hair was SILKY SMOOTH, «no frizz, no I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do today hair, no it got misty so I look like I just stuck my finger in a light socket» nope none of those at all.
I’ve even walked in the mist and rain since I’ve had it done and nothing changes.
BEST OF ALL IT LASTS 3 – 6 MONTHS DEPENDING ON YOUR HAIR GROWTH!!!
What’s not to love. GREAT, GREAT PRODUCT, I’ll never go back to curly.

She does the absolute best color –especially for blondes! Every time I go in, I just give her a general idea of what I’m looking for in terms of color/​highlights and then just always trust her to do her thing. And it always comes out stunning — gorgeous, natural looking blonde color and I always get so many compliments. She also always ensures that the color you’re looking for won’t mess with the integrity of your hair. LOVE LOVE LOVE her!

I went in for my first Deva cut yesterday with Leeanne. I came in with a weird haircut caused by a bad mall haircut and she fixed it perfectly! She has curly hair herself and understands it well. She did an excellent job of explaining how to best work with my particular curl pattern and how to style without creating frizz. It was the best cut and style experience I have had and will be returning in 6 months!
If you have curly hair I highly recommend getting a Deva cut. It is worth the slight price increase.

I went to Daniel because my hair was breaking off.
That’s right… every girls worst nightmare!
I was brushing it out and finding these little one inch pieces everywhere. I had actually resorted to brushing it only on my patio so I could keep my bathroom clean. Pathetic!
I looked like I was raised by wolves! I was thinking… is it my thyroid or my Lyme disease? What is this now?! Urghhhh. Always something.
My hair is curly and I have a lot of it so we agreed that I could grow it out once we got rid of the 4 inches of brillo attached to my ends.
I tried putting Keratin over it however I still was wayyyy overdue for a cut.
Also I just have to say I find him personable, what I like about Danny is he wants to know how YOU feel about your hair.
He asks you to tell him what you’ve done in the past, and what you like or don’t like, or what you are wanting to change.
A consummate professional for sure.
I also have a thing about meticulous blow dries.
A good blow dry either makes or breaks the cut. It’s the showcase to the art. He did these gorgeous old hollywood pin curls on me which he releases once the drying is complete. My hair is so soft and wavy.
Lastly, he never pulls your hair and not one strand broke as he worked on me. He gives an amazing head massage while he washes and it really hits you that he is a massage therapist.
I didn’t want it to end ever!
Next time I go I am having the Agave smoothing treatment. Nobody in the area does it and I love that he found a non-​chemical option.
All the products he uses are clean, gluten free no parabens ect. So your scalp will thank you.

Highly recommend it. Must see David Morris. He is the best!
He is very calm, a good listener, and conservative when it comes to cutting hair. Most of the stylists in the past have cut my hair a bit too long than I wanted. David makes sure that he doesn’t cut it too much. He takes his time to work on your hair.
He did my first highlights and I LOVED it! he did that for a very small fee because I had casually shared that I wanted to do it but never made an effort to try it. He gave me a few highlights for a very small fee to see if I liked it. I loved it so much that I went back to get more hair highlights. The first round was very light; we could barely see it. And he saw on my face that I wasn’t too excited. He re-​did the whole thing with more colors and I LOVED my hair color.
I would not trust or go to any other stylist but him. His customers stick to him for years because he is so good!
His price is pretty low too!
He doesn’t dry your hair 100% and he doesn’t straighten it with a straightener. That’s not his style but if you asked him to, I am sure he would do it for you.
He gave me some nice tips to promote shine and health of my hair at home. His remedies are useful!
He only takes cash or check. No credit card.

I booked an appointment based on reviews because I’m not local. Best decision I’ve made on this trip! My stylist was LeeAnn and she was amazing. She gave me exactly what I wanted and managed to get me talking about my travels (I wasn’t feeling talkative having just flown in). LeeAnn wrote me a list of tips, things I need to see and gave me her email for updates, she even gave me a hug goodbye! Ohh and the receptionist was amazing too. Got me in twenty minutes early so I didn’t have to wait, offered me tea, coffee, sparkling water and wifi. The premises was lovely, clean, professional and stylish. The price was better than I would get in NZ. I was expecting about a hundred more, especially with the free wave to finish it off. Unreal service!!!
