BenchMade Modern

We couldn’t be happier with our Skinny Fat sofa from Benchmade Modern.
To start, we loved the process. We figured out the custom size we wanted, then got the print out version to lay out and make sure we weren’t bonkers on our sizing. We ordered our couch after that and got updates along the way about each step of the production and shipping. And it was ridiculously fast. I think shipping took longer than production. The only thing we weren’t able to customize that would have been nice were the legs.
The couch itself is awesome. Dangerously comfy, but not at the risk of looking stylish. We love the modern design that isn’t cold or stuffy.
We ordered the Marlow Asphalt fabric and are really happy with the color (a rich, warm grayish brown), comfort and apparent durability. We have 2 cats and any new upholstered furniture is always a gamble. No matter how much we try to seduce them into using their sheepskin throws, we can’t get them off the couch and thankfully the fabric weave makes it really hard for their nails to get stuck in it. They’re yet to do any damage.
I think Benchmade has it all figured out.

BenchMade Modern has set a new standard for custom sofas. When we moved into our new house and realized we needed not one but two new sofas before Thanksgiving we went into full research mode. We quickly realized that Room & Board, Crate and Barrel or even West Elm could not deliver. Then we found Edgar and BenchMade.
Cut to two weeks later and I have 2 gorgeous custom sofas made exactly how I want in my living room in time for the holiday.
The service was spectacular through the entire process and the quality seems top notch with super competitive prices. I doubt I’ll ever buy a sofa from anyone else.

This custom sofa company is online for now, but they are opening up a storefront in the Mission later this year. BenchMade does truly custom sofas, with sizing right down to the inch, tons of color choices and super fast manufacturing. They can make a sofa in as little as 24 hours! They’re an awesome local company with great customer service.
