Bench in Dolores Park @ corner of 20th and Church

This is one of the best views in SF — it has the perfect balance of park and city skyline… but be prepared to have your picturesque shot be photobombed by homeless people passed out on the bench, naked guys laying out on gay beach, and people smoking grass on top of the hill if you come during the weekend and/​or hot day. The best time to visit is sunrise or weekday. If you plan on sitting on this bench, you might want to sit on a newspaper, bring sanitary wipes, or burn your clothes after getting up if you are a germaphobe.

aside from the gays, the view is spectacular. you don’t have to go all the way up to twin peaks. this is it. the best view of the city. take the j train and it will drop you off right at the bench.

Sit down, take a break and enjoy a great view of San Francisco. In one of the most popular parks in San Francisco, this is a great spot to overlook the entire park.

This is my favorite spot in the city. I think it has the best views of the city. I used to live about a block away and would start and end every day looking out over the city from this spot. Want a great place to take someone special? This is it!

I’ve seen lovers kiss here, moms– to– be rub their tummies here, people doing ab work here, people of all ages and walks of life sitting here enjoying the day and the view.
It’s a beautiful spot.

I can’t speak for the bench, but I can speak for the view. Spectacular. Every time I come here, I’m pleased. And every time I bring out of town visitors here, they are pleased too.
Instructions:
1. Pull up to the corner.
2. Turn on your hazards.
3. Step out of the car.
4. Take in the panoramic view of the City, the Bay Bridge, the Bay itself, and the far horizon of Oakland, Berkeley, or whatever East Bay locale that is.
5. Get back in car, and drive to the next destination.
6. Or stay.

I’m not a Dolores regular in the least. I live in a quieter, more boring niche of this beautiful city. I do think I will be returning more frequently, if for no other reason to sit on this bench and take in the spectacular view. Next time you are stoned, full of La Palma tacos and chips and in Dolores’ neighborhood, stop by my new favorite bench and spend some quality time.
P. S. One star removed for my fat ass not fitting completely on said bench.
