Good place to stop in for some essentials before grabbing your groceries at Trader Joe’s. They have an especially wide selection of small kitchen appliances, utensils, knives, tools, etc. I suppose this is part of their Beyond section.

For a big box retailer in the city, this store is surprisingly large with a much bigger selection than many of its suburban counterparts. friv.red/

I went into the store today, and her assistance helping find an out of stock bedding item was phenomenal. She was helping me in such a caring way that I felt like I was shopping with a friend, and this made me want to buy more items. I ended up buying a beautiful throw blanket because of her attention.

Terrible experience. If I come into a store looking to spend over $ 1,000 on pots, I would really like some assistance if I can’t find the set I’m looking for. I came in with my husband and we wouldn’t find an associate to help us, after almost 10 minutes I walk to the front customer service area. The older woman working the cash register, put out her hand and said No! She was first. I said I’m just looking for some help with the pots. She pages and no one came. After another 15 minutes I went back and spike to Jordan who paged for associate about 5 times. Why are they so under staffed? Not to mention, while I was in line, there were three other customers who had big blow outs with the staff (no idea what the issue was) but it is just a reflection of the poor customer service. Customers seeing other customers getting yelled at is bad for business. I came today expecting to be in and out because I already knew what I was getting. It ended up taking an hour to finally find someone to get the pots out the back and leave.

Love the coupons and great deals ! This past Black Friday I saw samsonite luggage was on sale not wanting to go there and find they would be sold out I called ahead to check if they still had some in stock. Spoke to Dina (sp?) and she was kind enough to put one aside for me. I got there and saw they were sold out but asked for Dina am sure enough she had set it aside so I scored the sale price till noon was only $ 63.99 usually $ 159 ! So happy and thought it was great customer service I’ve always found customer service there great I love the prices especially on toothpaste ! Cheaper than Walgreens

I love the products and price, but I am completely offended by the employees and the «customer service» I’f you can ever call it customer service…
I am a very loyal customer at this location, I shop here and at Trader Joe’s at least twice a week. I live a few blocks away so it’s just really convenient. They have a great selection and great prices, but terrible employees. Every single time I go there I get followed around and treated like a shoplifter. I know how employees act around shoplifters because I have worked in retail for many years, and know about lost prevention very well. I have no idea why they treat me like a shoplifter when I am a loyal customer who spends lot of money there and has never stolen from them or anywhere else ever. I have an alternative style with tattoos and piercings, but so do some of their employees. In this day and age especially those things are not a red flag for shoplifters. I am extremely offended by their constant behavior with me when I am there so often and have never stolen from there, I get followed around constantly, I hear them radio to other employees about what section I’m in, at least one person is always close to me, staring at me making me uncomfortable. I’ve been shopping their at least twice a week for over a year and I’m still treated the same, I keep hoping its going to change, but it doesn’t. I love the products and pricing so much, but if they continue to wrongfully treat me like a shoplifter I’m going to take my business else where. I understand that lost prevention is part of their job, and it’s good to be on top of that, but it’s not right to continue to treat a very loyal customer who has never stolen from them or anywhere like a shoplifter, that’s how you loss customers. It’s extremely hurtful to me simply because I shop there so much, and spend so much money, and I’m always polite. I just don’t understand why they do this to me. I went in there yesterday at 8:20pm and the whole time workers surrounded me, giving me dirty looks, fixing things that didn’t need to be fixed just so they can stay by me, and radioing to other workers what section I’m in, they even continued to watch me while I was at check out, purchasing everything I picked out with cash, one worker who was an older man with gray hair and a blue Hawaiian shirt on followed around the whole first floor radioing people about me constantly, when I was at check out I hear him on his radio saying «the suspect is at check out now» while he continued to stare at me and give me dirty looks, this has happened to me countless, countless times and I have never ever even looked like I was shoplifting, I just don’t understand how they can treat such a loyal customer like this, my father is a loyal customer as well and I have told him about how horrible they treat me, and he doesn’t want to give them his business because it’s so upseting, because we live together and he knows how much I go there and how much money I spend there so he really doesn’t like or understand why they continue to treat me like this…
I give two starts because they have great products and pricing, but they treat their loyal customers like shoplifters.

I really like coming here for candles and other kitchen supplies. The place is huge with 2 floors and is very well organized. I was able to pick up a set of candles from this place at a pretty reasonable price.
The other thing I are all the kitchen supplies. Pots, pans and other cooking tools. The people are really nice who work here and the 20% coupons are great too.

I love this place, which has everything and some for my tiny kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Prices are reasonable but only if you use the 20% coupons of the $ 5 coupons (for purchases over $ 15).
The staff is nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

It was my 1^st visit elsa super star she save, by finding chair cover and table cover with a good quality it was not on display she find from stock and it was great she was very positive, friendly and my family friend was coming over 1^st time she was hero for me that day I really love the stuff I buy

This place is a mess. They have a good selection of (over priced) stuff, but you know what you’re getting into when you go there. The thing that bothers me the most about this place is the service. It is impossible to wait less that 15 minutes to check out, even if there’s only one or two people in front of you in line. If you want to buy something that was locked up in a case in the store, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes in the customer service line to pay. I’m not sure if it’s just this location or all of them, but you’re probably better off just going somewhere else.

I love collecting the coupons and having a cow like Abbey in Broad City. Anyone mess with my coupons, I will cut you!
I love coming in here to find unique household items from silicone ice cube trays for my bourbon on the rocks or a funky looking jewelry container made in Japan. The best thing about shopping here is the price. Even without the 20% flyers, you still get a deal on contact solution or salon shampoos. They also have a great selection of environmentally friendly cleaning products ie. 7^th Generation and Meyer.
The only detraction would be the parking, so bring your inner Zen or do some yoga before driving over. I avoid all this by taking a 30 minute walk (for health!) or taking the 19 Muni here (which is a whole other review to itself because you meet so many characters on this bus line).

I’ve never felt so bad as a customer in this store that I’ve patronized for 4 years. I was at the Express line for the first time, not realizing it was the express line for up to 5 items. I had 7 items in my cart. When it was my turn, the cashier Derek rightfully asked me to leave the express line. I told him I would buy only 5 of the items in my cart and leave out the other 2. That was when he started to show me a face of how annoyed he was that I tried to stay in the line after his initial refusal. I didn’t understand why he had to be this way when I obeyed the 5-​item rule.
Then he continued with his grumpiness when I used coupons for my purchase. When I handed him the first coupon, which was a manufacturer’s coupon, he said, «I can’t even read this.» I was speechless at first and thought he definitely needed better glasses to perform his job. Then I told him what I could read with my glasses. He was obviously not adequately trained to process my coupon and had to take time to walk away to inquire with his colleagues before knowing what to do with it.
Next, his attitude continued when I used gift cards to pay for my purchase. When he could not successfully scan any of my three gift cards, he showed me something that’s hard to read at his register that the last card he scanned had «no value». I told him all of them were new cards and asked him to try keying in the card codes. He showed impatience looking down at the express line full of customers and reluctantly started to key in the gift card codes and voila – every single one of my cards worked! I had to believe he wasn’t trained how to scan a gift card correctly as the three scans he did of three valid cards all failed and he even tried to show me there was «no value» on my cards.
As a courtesy, I apologized to him when he handed me the receipt saying «I’m very sorry, sir, for causing all the trouble and inconvenience with my purchase today» and he did not say a single word or made any eye contact to return the courtesy, or thank me for my purchase at all. There was not one smile or gesture of basic courtesy I received being a customer in my loooong transaction in the express lane.
If BB&B doesn’t welcome coupons or gift cards in the Express lane, they should indicate so on their sign. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be fair to a customer like me to be mistreated for the extra time it took Derek the cashier to process coupons or gifts cards, especially when he appeared not to be trained to do the job courteously and efficiently in the express lane.
After this experience, I won’t go back to this store again. There’re certainly other better BB&B locations. I give 2 stars for the pleasant service I received the last four years until this time.

So, I bought a bunch of tiaras on Bed Bath and Beyond’s website had to return 5 tiaras one week and 5 the next. At Christmastime.
Also, it turns out that the tiaras were shipped directly from the seller (so, not BBB but through their site) so they were dubiously labeled, came in a million separate boxes, and were kind of impossible to determine which tiara corresponded to which item on the packing slip.
Yeah. It was insanely frustrating and I probably should’ve waited til after Christmas, but I’m an idiot, so – eh.
Anyway, the nice (flustered) guy manning the return line by himself helps me out. There are a ton of people and he’s doing his best to return everything according to the packing slip, but good lord it’s a mess.
Granted, that’s not my fault – the distributers decided to label only some of the tiaras with numbers and then refer to the tiaras by names on the packing slip. So. Not very bright of them.
Anyway, same thing happens when I have to return the second batch. Long lines, flustered employee doing her best to assist me. I get in and get out.
When I get home, I take a look at the receipts and realize that one tiara was returned for less than the correct value, so I’m out about $ 20. I decide to place a call and see if BBB can by any chance recount the tiaras I returned and see if I can get that $ 20 back. It’s a tall order and I think I’ll probably end up having to drive down there, but I do it anyway.
I speak to the manager who is very polite and understanding. Despite the fact that it’s a frustrating task, he promises to do it and credit my card, as well as send a receipt. And he does. The credit shows up in a few days and I even get the damn receipt in the mail a while later when I thought he’d forgotten. Amazing!
Anyway, I love BBB and this experience was awesome thanks most of all to this great manager who really totally delivered. … I just wish I remembered his name!

Two stories of massive awesomeness make this a dream place to shop at! Everything you’d expect in a B, B and B except… More! Good deals, great selection. The only drawback I could find is that it can be tough to find someone to help you, but the keep the floor swarming with staff so you don’t have to wander far to find someone. Worth walking into just to check the ‘Sale’ bins in the middle of the floors around the store.

This review is for the registry customer service experience only, not for the store overall.
The hubby and I stopped in to add a few things to our registry. Even though we didn’t have an appointment (nor were we particularly looking for someone to help us — we just thought we’d browse on our own for a few select items), a woman named Mary stepped in to show us around. We were pleasantly surprised at how helpful she was, especially since we weren’t that prepared or knowledgeable about the items that we did want. Everything was going well…
Until pots and pans.
At that point, another very helpful gentleman stepped in to familiarize us with the ins and outs of pots and pans. It was clearly his area of expertise, and we learned a lot in the process.
The problem arose when we started expressing hesitation about adding a multi-​piece, several-​hundred-​dollar set of pots and pans to our registry. The few pieces in the set that we wanted weren’t available separately, but we didn’t particularly want the whole set and besides, we knew that no one would spring for a set that cost so much. We started considering whether a few people (relatives, for instance) might want to go in together on it.
In the meantime, both Mary and the gentleman began peppering us with advice: «People will want to get together to buy that for you», «That set is beautiful, you’ll have it forever», «That’s what people do, they form a little group and take on some of the bigger items» — seriously it was non stop from both sides for a solid couple minutes. At which point I simply said, «Ok you know what, let’s add it for now and talk about it later. I’m a little stressed about getting back to work.» (I was being nice… Really I was just stressed out by THEM.)
Mary’s response? «Ok, let’s move on to knives.» And then muttered under her breath, mockingly, «Unless that’s going to stress you out.»
Not ok.
Things got worse at knives, when Mary began by asking us which brands we were considering, ignoring our response and then rattling off a bunch of other knives we hadn’t mentioned at all.
Basically I left the experience wondering about the quality and sincerity of every recommendation she had made (Why so aggressive on that set of pots and pans? Why push these knives we already said we weren’t interested in?) I also left wondering about BB&B’s incentive structure for registry employees.
That said, the (totally different) man who checked us out for a few odds and ends we were purchasing that day was perfectly pleasant to us, joking around as he processed our purchases. Promote that guy.

I moved to SF about a year ago with only the contents of two suitcases to my name. I considered trying to fashion some sort of shelter from my clothes, but thought better of it and went to Bed Bath and Beyond, where I proceeded to I foolishly decided to spend $ 270 a heavy down duvet. I am also quite possibly the only person in history to have gone to BBB without any coupons and paid full price for everything (don’t worry, my roommate laughed in my face when she found this out and has corrected my behavior).
I loved my new goose down duvet, it was like being cuddled by a fluffy cloud. However, our love affair was short lived when it essentially decided to spew a sea of feathers over everything I owned. This is not an exaggeration, I went to work a few times and had colleagues ask me why there were feathers on my clothes/​in my hair/​in their office. I was livid, it was time to take the duvet from hell back. However, at this point, I realized I had lost my receipt and had now had the duvet for 5 months.
I stood in line at BBB. Waiting. Quietly bubbling with anger at the feathery injustice of it all. When I got to the front I was fully prepared for a battle considering I had no receipt. I explained what had happened and to my surprise received quite a sincere apology. I was promptly told to go and locate some items which I would be happy to exchange for. There was no heavily drawn out arguing, no asking to see the manager, just a nice polite store assistant. I would add that whilst had I no receipt, I did have my bank card statement showing the purchase. Also, in the end I couldn’t find things I wanted to exchange for, so they just refunded me the balance. Whilst it was five star customer service, I’ve minused a star for stocking the fluff-​monster duvet in the first place.
I am now very happily involved with a non-​feathery, hypoallergenic duvet.

My favorite BBB location to go to, it carries all personal hygiene items. The best part is their coupons, never expiring 20% and $ 5 off coupons can’t be beat. They let you use multiple coupons at the same time too!!!
This store is huge. It has two floors and everything is laid out very nicely. Everything from kitchenware to bedding, furniture to cosmetics. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of parking available. Great place for getting all sorts of things for the home.

Standard selection of products, though I have definitely had moments of surprise when they didn’t have something that seemed fairly basic to me.
I am mostly writing this review about the incredibly off-​putting experience I had with an employee during the checkout process. I was purchasing a $ 15 banana holder fruit bowl for the office. During checkout, I chatted amicably with the cashier. I attempted to use my boss’ VISA, as I have done on numerous occasions, and for far larger purchases, at this location. The employee asked to see my ID, I explained that I was using the card with my boss’ approval for a work expense, and was rejected. Understandable. A little less understandable was the abrupt change in his demeanor as he began to glare at me as if I had attempted grand larceny on his watch.
No biggie — I pulled out my debit card and figured I’d expense it, and asked for my boss’ VISA back. Employee mutters something about needing to protect my boss, and is clearly on the fence about calling management or security on me. I offer to show him correspondence on my phone demonstrating that the name on the card is my boss’. He relents, returns the card, but still seems like he’s strongly considering calling someone on the phone about this whole business. Keep in mind, it’s a fruit basket. I’m not out here trying to purchase Le Creuset and a collection of Wusthof knives.
We conclude the transaction and he wordlessly hands my receipt to me and stalks off. I needed a bag, and alerted him to this. He returns, demands the requisite 10 cents, and bags my purchase before stomping off again.
I worked in retail for years, and dealt with similar situations as this. Protecting your bottom line is understandable, but treating your customers as if they are criminals is inexcusable. There is a tactful way to handle even the ugliest of customer service nightmares, which this most certainly was not.

I know it sounds silly to check in & do a review of bed bath & bed bath & beyond but this one is actually really good.
My husband & I did our bridal registry here so we came many times before & after out wedding and only had one «okay» experience. This experience was with a younger woman «helping“us with our registry. She spent soooo much time with us explaining about china & things that we told her we were not interested in. Finally she let is go on our own & since that point we have had fantastic help from all of the other employees helping us with the registry & everyone out working the floor!
They have ample employees at all times out on the floor who are knowledgable & helpful! The managers here do a really good job!
The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because a lot of their towel color are mis-​labeled & as I result, all the towels that I registered for were the wrong color & every time we got the towels I had to return them (& we registered for multiple sets).
I informed several employees of this & so far in about another nothing has been done (I know this because I’ve been here about every other day purchasing, exchanging, & returning)
