Closed. thank god. Perhaps the worst restaurant I have seen… well except that one in Nigeria. New restaurant looks great Café Europa… good luck, make tons of money, and make people happy. By the way the Schnitzel looks pretty darn good!

You know when you want some good olé fashion diner food, but you walk into the place and it’s just another Asian restaurant? Well this is one of those places. We walked in and asked for Bob and the Asian lady said he wasn’t in, but we believe there isn’t a Bob at all. We began by ordering the«steak» ‘n’ eggs and a veggie omelet. The steak came out resembling some sort of elephant jerky and the omelet had unidentifiable substances. I started to gag while I chewed on all the spinach. When I asked her about one of the vegetables, she did a double take and stared at it for a while. She then told me it was a mushroom. It tasted like hell so I pushed them around my plate. The eggs that came with the steak were an oily mess, borderline raw and were practically chirping. Our recommendation is that one should only go there if they hate their life or they hate the life of the person they are dining with. Post script: The ice in the water melted entirely too quickly. That’s it.

We were a bit skeptical about eating here, since we’ve never seen more than two people at a time. However, we were pleasantly surprised and have a higher-than-never chance of returning. Things that were good: –the coffee was drinkable –my order could have been tricky(soft bacon, eggs over easy) but it was totally fine –the biscuits are delicious –the location –the natural light and décor are good for a diner –the bathroom was clean The not great things: –the attention to clean detail is a bit off(there was some coffee stains on the mugs, photo here, and some fries on the ground) –the waiter is young, and on his way to learning how to be great… Just not quite there yet(couldn’t remember who ordered what, put the dishes on the wrong place)

I love having breakfast here. Everyone here is really friendly and I don’t have to order anymore because the staff remembers what I eat(I’m a creature of habit). The food is made to order, so everything is fresh. I will keep on coming here because the service is excellent, the staff is friendly and they remember my order!

Alright, I hate to do this again, but our last 2 experiences here were horrible, and we definitely won’t be coming back. What I observed was the first time I visited, there was an older couple working there, and the food was inedible. A younger gentleman briefly took over the restaurant, and the food improved immensely. The last two times, the older couple have been there, and the food has been on the verge of rotting, and completely inedible, My hash browns tasted like dirt, they had the weirdest texture that I can only attribute to being really old and dry before being cooked. And my husbands biscuits & gravy were ice cold, like it had been briefly heated in a microwave after being in the fridge. My husband decided to give it one more try, and he ended up getting violently ill that night and missing 2 days of work. I can’t say for sure what happened, but there’s no way we’re eating here agin. So sad to see it back to it’s old ways so quickly. I don’t know what else to say about it. :(

It’s really deserving of 4 – 4.5 stars, but seeing all the negative reviews here really breaks my heart. This isn’t a five-star dining experience, why would you expect that anyway at a diner-type place? We came here knowing nothing about the place. No Unilocaling the restaurant, no looking at the menu, none… we just walked in. And boy was it a pleasant surprise. The interior is very clean and well-decorated(looks homey). I think they need a new sign outside to make it look more inviting. It was around lunchtime on a Thursday and we were the only ones there. The waitress was VERY friendly. I ordered the veggie omelet and my husband got the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were yumtastic. The only problem might have been the wait for our food, but we didn’t mind. I’m often skeptical about food that’s ready too quickly, thinking about pre-prepared, frozen, totally not fresh ingredients going into the dish I ordered. The time they took on the food spoke for itself. My omelet was so, SO fresh. All the veggies(spinach, mushrooms, avocado, etc.) were all very yummy and the omelet itself wasn’t over-flavored and drenched with salt like most restaurant foods. I could taste the veggies in every bite. The home fries were different. How? They were fresh potatoes. Often times when you get home fries, they’re fried to crispy deliciousness, but somehow you know they just came out of the freezer. Not these. Service was great, food was great. Every restaurant has room for improvement, but if you nitpick on every little thing in life, where will that get you? Absolutely nowhere. I can’t wait to go back to try the truffle fries.

Updated 3÷1÷2012 — giving them another star for the kind response by one of the co-owners and his insistence on their usage of organic produce and products. MM Mediocre is how I’d score BB Bob’s Restaurant. It’s kind of a shame, since it is an inviting little place with a jaunty paint job and a menu that looks quite appealing. The place is spick and span clean and brand new looking, even after being opening more for a year. I think that is mostly because of the dearth of customers. During the time I was there only one other customer appeared. We chose from the«all new and organic farm fresh menu» and I was looking forward to my hamburger. For starters, I sincerely doubt the iceberg lettuce, pallid piece of tomato and sad pickle slices were organic and farm fresh. I asked the proprietor what ranch his beef came from, and he was unable to answer. He was also unable to answer when I asked what organic bakery prepared their rolls and bread. In any event, my hamburger was just OK, kind of overdone. The frozen crinkle cut french fries were cooked beautifully — nice and crisp. I did note that the catsup was not organic, just regular Heinz. On the plus side, the service was very friendly, and again, the place is very clean and bright. On the down side, too bad the food isn’t organic and farm fresh as they claim.

My first time coming in here today and the guy who works here is very nice. I ordered French Toast and Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries and a 7-UP. This diner is not super big so speaking of its size, it is suitable for a group of 30 – 40 people. Nice diner spot on California St between 5th Ave and 6th Ave!

Breaks my heart to write this update but my hopes of this place becoming the new breakfast spot for my grandparents have diminished. The skinny asian lady with the glasses who’s the owner was a very sweet waitress, also very invitingly warm. The new waitress they have there has made all of my recent experiences with my grandparents there just uncomfortably frustrating. My grandparents are good enough people to bring business to this place for example myself with my other half, my 2 sisters, their husband, bf, My aunt and uncle etc. For the past month or so now at least 3−4x a week. The recent times I’ve brought my grandfather here, as polite as he seems to the new waitress(chubby, short curlyish reddish hair). She gives a smile, then walks away with frustrated exhaling or saying something negative under her breathe. Besides the fact that they have a damn microwave visible in the dining room, while I’ve seen them throw coffees and soups in this thing with the customers right there watching. I’ve always gave them the benefit of the doubt. Last straw was when I ordered an eggs benedict, the yolk was way over cooked, hardened to say the least. The hollandaise sauce was just tasteless. I just had enough. Now I’m just going to tell my family to steer clear and go to a place that appreciates their business!

What do these words — blueberry pancakes, Dolores Park, Mighty, Miguel Migs, turkey burger — have in common? BB Bob’s. Sunday was supposed to be splendid(though it looks to be a little chillier and windier than forecast). Saturday night Miguel Migs was due to rock the Mighty dance floor. This meant two things: 1) I needed dancing food 2) To maximize Dolores Park time, I should brunch at home the next morning. BB Bob’s was the answer to both. Bob himself was manning this clean if sparsely populated diner in the inner richmond, and rather than look at me funny with my request for takeout dinner and breakfast(hey, roll your eyes, the sign did say breakfast was served all day), he enthusiastically took on the challenge. Burger was served no mayo, no cheese as requested, and the pancakes were sans butter but had plenty of blueberries. I like that ratio. Slight misunderstanding on the side salad, but Bob insisted I take the full size one at no charge. And without dressing. Thanks Bob. Great place. Not high end dining, but you wouldn’t be coming here if that is what you are looking for, right? If you go, which you should, tell Bob I said hello, and that I loved my pancakes. You will too.

I like supporting the little guy and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered a Rib Eye Steak for like $ 14.00! Of course it didn’t taste like a Ruth Chris steak, but it still hit the spot. It came with salad, which was nothing to write home about. just some lettuce, tomatoes, and some beans. The steak fries that came with it were pretty good, with generous amounts of green peppers, and the steak itself was not bad, however just a slightly overcooked. It was nicely covered and sautéed with mushrooms and onions. As I waiting for the food, I browsed at their menu and noticed that the prices were pretty cheap compared to what you would usually pay for at other diners. Overall, service was fast, food was decent, and prices are great.

It’s a pretty good location in that you can sometimes find parking around there. But I agree with a previous review that the food isn’t that great. I wouldn’t say awful as I sometimes like the crappy processed cheese. This place is an offshoot of Bob’s restaurant on the corner of Polk and Sacramento. The food is the same(quality).

I was excited to try this place, the Inner Richmond needs a good burger joint. Sadly, this is not it. My 2 friends and I all had burgers and fries and like another reviewer here, it all tasted like it was just plain old processed food. I’m sure the burgers and fries were just some frozen stuff from a giant manufacturer. We expect more in San Francisco. We’ll have to continue to drive to Pearl’s, or Burger Joint, or Barney’s for the really great burgers.

Why did this place get so many bad reviews? Sad!!! We biked there and got a seat by the window. The food came steamy hot and it was really delicious! I was happy to have a place… with no wait that was UNDER $ 20 for two people! The waitress was super sweet and they refilled our coffees 6 times… no joke… they were ONTOP of toppin’ off my coffee. I’ll def. go back here… although I’m scared to see so many bad reviews when there is so many positive reasons I had found to come back. Aaw… wouldn’t be the first time I clashed with others on Unilocal. I’m telling you… the Inner Richmond needed another Diner… and they needed one like this place. I’m a fan.

Went for dinner, we were the only ones in the restaurant. I had an omelette with bacon and avocado. The food was decent and simple. This restaurant opened not too long ago, there’s always room to improve. Maybe I’ll come back and check out the rest of their menus.

I mean… um… it’s newly renovated! And clean! And the lady is really polite. Okay, let’s go to the advice corner. Please… take the microwave out of view. It does not belong behind the bar, in plain sight of all your customers(which has been, the two times I’ve been here, one table. Consisting of me.) I’m not even going to try to pretend that you don’t use a microwave, but when I see you walk from the microwave to my table with the soup that came with my order, I find it just slightly less appetizing. And while you’re at it, the little boxes of cereal can go underneath the counter, too. Just thought I’d throw that out there. Burger had a very… home-made-by-your-grandma quality to it. Not really greasy, which is good, right? I didn’t want a big portion anyway. Simple and clean, like Utada would sing. Prices could use some adjusting. Owner came up to me and asked for my opinion on new hours. May I suggest going for the 24-hr route. Or graveyard shift would probably be best. When nothing else is open in the neighborhood, people will come, no matter how… interesting the food is.

I’d rather have Ikea’s 99 cent breakfast. Actually, it was just like it, besides the taste and it being a ripoff. I didn’t see anything I liked on the menu, so I ordered plain eggs, bacon, and potatoes with an english muffin. The eggs were not very good… and eggs are eggs, right? The bacon was too dry and looked old, and I only had one tiny potato piece. Parts of the English muffin were a bit burnt as well, and that meal was around $ 7. IKEA’S is $ 0.99! The only pro is that they were nice and frequently checked up on us, but that can only go so far. They say you find true love through your stomach, and despite the delivery you’re getting, if the actual contents aren’t so pleasing, it’s just not worth it. Again, do yourself a favor if you want breakfast and go elsewhere. Or just spend a couple bucks to make it yourself :)

Had to try this place. It just seems so inviting with the new signs, the bench out in front, new paint, and the new interior modifications. The food, on the other hand, was bad. Do they make anything from scratch here? The chicken pot pie was from either Marie Calenders or Swansons(yes premade frozen pot pies). They could have at least taken the cardboard bowl out. Enclosed is a picture of it. My suggestion, take it out of the menu. The chef’s salad was dismal. Looks very sad on the plate, no bacon bits and why were there kidney beans in the salad? My suggestion, put the salad in a glass bowl. Chop the eggs up, add fresh bacon bits on top and take out the beans. Use thicker cuts of tomatoes and cucumber. The turkey, ham, and cheese tasted old or were lower grade. The eggs benedict… untoasted muffins, the hollaindaise was thick and there was too much lemon in the sauce. Try toasting the muffins, using a higher grade of ham, ease up on the lemon, and loosen up the sauce. The chicken fingers for 7.25 was Costco chicken nuggets(6 pieces). Shouldn’t they be in strips. Take it out of your menu or start having strips of chicken. As I was walkng out, I saw some of the burgers. Premade patties… most likely from costco as well. Trying making your own patties. Was very disappointed with the food. This is the only 1 star restaurant that I might actually come back so that I can try the other specials that they have. I would love to update my review to give them higher marks, but it was just very bad today. They seem like very nice people and our neighborhood need a restaurant like this. I hope they can get rid of their grand opening jitters and become a great addition to our hood.

EDit: The burgers were frozen. And the toppings standard. Eh,… Not bad, its more of a standard diner menu. Give it a shot. HAd the french toast. NOT Stellar. I am not expecting much here. I amnot even expectin this place to be around that long. Unless of course they step up their game. Ill try their burgers. and report.

I was excited to try this place out, but it was soooooo disappointing! The service was decent, but the food was awful!!! I got an bacon omelette and it was filled with processed cheese. Not one slice, but three and it didn’t melt. Who does that??? My BF got the texas omelette and it was full of chilli from a can. The home fries were cold and the toast was soggy. Skip it! This place uses sub-standard ingredients and the prices just don’t match up. If you’re looking for good breakfast in the inner richmond– try Eats or Hamburger Haven on Clement.
