So sad to come here and find this closed. This was my fave place to come to in busy downtown. My roast duck noodle soup will not be forgotten

I go here for Thai food most times I’m in SF. Super inexpensive. Super quick. Super convenient. Food is delicous! Maybe a little hard to find. lol. I’ve only walked past it twice while looking for it. I’m Thai and I would recommend this place. They can serve dishes a la cart if you have a bigger group and wanted to do family style– all my asians should know what I’m talking about. Anyways, this has been a favorite spot since first visiting the city many years ago. Glad menu and prices have not changed much since then. Highly recommended for travellers, people on the go, foodies, real Thai food lovers, etc.

My love for this place has been ongoing since 2011 — so much that I had to update my review to show continual support. This is a place for you to get your food fast, hot, and something that’ll «hit the spot». The portions are appropriate a.k.a. just right. Regardless of when you come, it’ll always be packed with people. There may be a wait during lunch but it’ll go by quickly. They have a great range of noodle soups(my favorite is #12, the curry noodle soup — not too heavy, great when piping hot), stir fried noodles(you can never go wrong with their Pad Kee Mao), and more. The menu is simple and full of photography if you need help deciding. Aside from the food itself, I’m super into how it’s a spot that’s great for eating alone. Made a shopping trip and need a quick bite to eat? This is the place. On your lunch break and you only have 30 minutes? This is the place to go. Are you an introvert like me and just don’t care about hanging out with other people some times? This is the spot. Now, it’s not a place full of lonely people, but that option is always great. Try it out whenever you’re in the area!(I’m currently drooling thinking about the food.)

This place is a solid 3.5 that deserves the round up to a 4 based on the food alone. My husband and I were happy we stumbled across this place. We were on a weekend trip to the city and it was late. We had an itch for Thai, but many places were already closing(it was around 10pm). Luckily, this place came up on my Unilocal! We stopped in and got a seat right before the«rush»(they get busy around 11pm). The best thing about this place, of course, is the food. We had yellow curry, curry noodle soup, and we split an order of the duck fried rice. Everything was much better than expected. Definitely better than the Thai we can get at that hour in the OC(HA!). There were some downsides. First, the place is small and it gets crowded. Some other customers complained that my husband and I were seated at a four person table — but that’s the way the cookie crumbles, lady! Get over it. The service is sloooow. Took a while for the waitress to take our order, and then it took quite some time to get our food after that. We were probably there for a solid 1.5 hours. But we were tired of walking and didn’t mind sitting, although the people waiting for us to leave weren’t thrilled. It’s not the cleanest of restaurants, but I feel that could be said about most of the places we ate at during our stay in SF. The bathroom was atrocious, and the floor under our table had not been swept for a majority of the day. But, I did look into the kitchen and it looked decently clean. The price is more than reasonable. It was our least expensive meal the entire weekend. For three entrees, and 2 drinks our total was $ 27. Not bad at all, especially for decent food. We will definitely pay this place a visit again when we are in town!

Ran across this place and was a little hesitant because of the reviews. All I can tell you is for the money you pay and the fact they are open late night I would recommend this place. The food is not to die for, but if your hungry as we were @ 12:30am this is my choice for the area. P. S. They allowed our little dog to sit with us to eat. *++++

Tonight, I came here early and that means before 1130 to eat. This place is occupied to the max tonight on a monday night. I guess because it is the summer and most of them are tourist. My table was lopsided but the lady was cute and fixed it in a hurry. The atmosphere can feel crowded since the place is small and not loud compared to other locations. Always get here before midnight to avoid the garbage take out in front of your face. No lie. They even clean up when customers are still eating which can stink of the chemicals. The food is AWESOME! Please understand thats why Everyone comes back. Price is best too!

Big portions for the somewhat low price you pay! Not the greatest Thai place I’ve been to, but the location is great. Located right in front of Uniqlo and in the heart of all the shopping in this area. Some dishes are definitely a miss, as they lacked flavor or went light on the meat. Soups can be bland. The place always seems to have a line forming outside. Inside, it’s always packed. Once inside, it’s very busy for the servers, so make sure you ask them for everything you need right then and there, because you may not see one again for a while. If you want a quick Asian fix, try them out. Again, inexpensive, and very filling.

This place was surprisingly legit in terms of price, amount of food, and quality. As others have said, you get what you pay for, so don’t expect the best Thai you’ve ever had, but this definitely does the job, is open late, and isn’t a tourist trap despite the location right off Union Square. We ordered pad kee mao and a rice plate with eggplant. The rice plate wasn’t that great since the eggplant was super greasy, but the pad kee mao was fine with some extra sauce added on the side. This place is open late and very affordable, but cash-only. I’d probably come back next time I’m in for a late dinner, and try their curry noodle soup options or some of the Chinese menu.

Bangkok Noodles & Thai B.B.Q. is a little hole-in-the-wall spot in the Union Square/Tenderloin transition area. The plus sides of this place are that it’s open late and inexpensive. I’ve definitely been«saved» by some late night noodles here. The minus is that it’s a tiny little place and the food is «what you pay for». If you want good Thai, you should probably eat dinner before 10pm and go somewhere else. It’s not that this food is bad, it’s just that it’s basic; this is basically Thai«fast food».

Looking for late night eats in SF? This is one of the few places to go. But this is not a place where you are reluctant to go to, the food here is good. And cheap. With lots of rice, noodle and soup noodle options all for under $ 10, you will get full for cheap. Had a fried flat rice noodle dish with chicken and they are generous with the ingredients. Lots of chicken and veg. I will say it is a little sweet for my liking though but still very good! Staff is a little forgetful and you have to remind them of drinks ordered. But that’s not too bad.

I hate giving restaurants bad reviews, but my most recent visit was not great. The service was perfectly described by Ed U as robotic. They forgot to bring some items on my order and still charged me. They forgot to bring the receipt back when I pointed out the missing items. The food preparation was sloppy, the pork in my dish was some sort of end cut that that was not sliced and came as one chewy lump. The location is great they are right off Union square. They are an emergency late night option as they are open till 1am. The broth in the soup dishes is bold and quite tasty, but the totally unfriendly and hopeless service, along with the sloppy food prep, made for an unsatisfying meal.

For under $ 10 meal on Powell district, this restaurant is very competitive. Always a long line in front of the store, but they do have pretty fast service! If party size is 1 or 2, wait will be shorter. Environment: tiny, I came several times, one time with a party size of 4, very tiny room and table for 4 people, I can barely move! But if I came there alone, table size just works fine for me Food quality: 4 stars, recommend seafood other than meat! I do have a high meat freshness standard, tried chicken and pork(no.17) fried noodle, meat does not taste fresh! Seafood tastes better, a lot of choices, I will definitely come back to try some other kinds of food Service: fast and accurate! CASHONLY!

Pros: cheaper than the other Thai restaurants I’ve been to so far. I love their Pad Ga-Prow(minced meat). They make it perfectly the way I like it! I also love their spicy chicken curry soup. Cons: staff isn’t as friendly. Tables are wobbly so be careful in ordering soups. Bathroom wasn’t as clean and there’s only one. Over all, place needs to have more space and updates.

Very disappointed! We were starving so we stopped by. I should’ve checked Unilocaled first! But like I said, we were starving!(I didn’t even have a chance to snap pics. Lol) We ordered the duck noodles and udon pad kee mao. I wouldn’t recommend any of those! Sad, because I love Thai food!

I’m sick of going to the mall in downtown SF for my lunch break. I also love King of Thai noodles but sometimes it’s so damn annoying walking through the crowd of people downtown to get there, especially if I’m limited to a 30 minute lunch. My coworker said this place was good and I saw the prices were cheaper than KOT so I decided to give this place a shot. It’s just down Powell where the cable car line is and much closer of a walk for me. It’s such a small spot and I always see a line out the door. I called in my order and literally had to squeeze my body and have physical touch with the people in line just to get inside and pick up my to go order… the struggle. I ordered the chicken Pad See Ew. $ 7.95. The one at King of Thai is more grilled and tastes better, but this place wasn’t too shabby. I wanna try their different fried rices as well as their curries, so expect an updated review on that hopefully soon.

Long line… yes!!! out the door long line… but my mom insisted to go here and started reminiscing when my father was still alive and really like the food here. This is my first time… good thing while in line. there’s so much distractions like cops and protesters on the street, a person who’s having a conversation with himself(not sure if he has a blue tooth), and crowds who are just in a shopping mode. I saw the price on their menu and it is quite affordable… cash only though. but I know it will be ok coz lots of my Unilocaler friends raved about this place. I ordered one of their soup. one with balls and spicy soup and my choice of Udon noodles(i like my noodles a bit chewy and big). I also ordered Thai Iced Tea. The noodle soup did not disappoint!!! It was very good IMHO. Thai iced tea was good too. I will definitely try their other soup and dishes when I’m feeling like getting in line hahah… and btw. I find that the service is very good.

Lecker, lecker, lecker.

Late night dinner after the Jay Z and Beyoncé concert. It was my first time here so my friend recommended me to try #12 their curry noodle soup. They have your typical Thai food choices along with some unique ones I haven’t seen before. The place itself is very small with limited seating. But luckily late night there’s not much people dining here on a Tuesday. Service was mediocre, typical of an Asian fast food restaurant. The curry noodle soup was very tasty. It wasn’t too thick either for a curry soup. I got beef with mine and vermicelli instead of the thin rice stick noodles. You can pick your choice of meat and noodles. I enjoyed it. My friend ordered #22 the sukiyaki I believe. That was also very tasty if you’re looking for something stir fried. We also ordered #20 feeling a bit adventurous, which was a mistake! It’s thick rice noodles with a spicy peanut sauce. It tasted like peanut butter on top of noodles. No thanks. You’re better off sticking to your traditional Thai dishes or the curry noodle soup. I was happy with my meal. Will definitely return to try more items off their menu such as their fried rice, duck noodle soup, and Tom yum udon.

My review was updated to 3 stars because I finally ordered my go to noodle dish here, and. sigh. It was too sweet. The price is great for what you get, I just did not enjoy my noodles, and again, the peppers were not spicy at all. I ordered the #4, the hubster the #5. The #5 was Plaaaaiiin, and the non spicy peppers did not help. He actually let me add fish sauce peppers into his noodles and he NEVER lets me add fish sauce to his soups. That was how bland it was. I also go a crazy eye when I asked for my water to be refilled at half empty. Next time we will walk up another few blocks to King of Thai.

Went there for lunch the other day. Had to wait for a minute, but not too long, the place was very crowded. It’s a small and noisy restaurant, don’t expect to sit down there for long hours — but it is good for a quick lunch. Ordered some thai food, took them only a few minutes to serve my plate and the food tasted very good. Summary: Get in, have a quick lunch of good thai food and then get out quickly. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is the place for you.
