Specialties
Come try our famous Pupusas, which come in a variety to choose from. Traditional pupusas include cheese, bean and pork, while our specialty ones include spinach, ground beef, and shrimp.
We also offer traditional dishes such as yucca, panes con pave (Salvadoran Turkey Sandwich) as well as hearty Mondongo soup. We also serve traditional breakfasts that include fried plantains, refried beans and homemade corn tortillas.
We are honored to have been voted Best Pupusa in SF Weekly and 7×7 magazines, as well as voted one of the 100 Best Bargain Bites by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Our name, Balompie, means «soccer» in Spanish and it represents our love for the sport. We honor that daily with our large television plasma screens showing live soccer games from around the world.
History
Established in 1987.
We first opened our doors on 31 October, 1987, with the commitment to provide the best Salvadoran food we can, using local ingredients as well as ingredients imported from El Salvador.
