Bai Qing Deng Acupuncture Clinic

Terrible terrible doctor. I went there for acupuncture because I was having anxiety issue and acupuncture had helped me in the past so I decided to give her a try. The first visit was okay. She asked me a whole bunch of questions regarding my health and after checking my pause, she recommended that I take herbs first then do acupuncture when the time is right. She gave me 3 bags of herbs and tell me to take it and come back in 3 days. I was charge for the doctor exam (check tongue and pause) and 3 bags of herb. I have to say her price for the herbs was very pricey.
My last couple of visits, she didn’t check my tongue or pause nor did I sit on her patient chair. she gave me the same herbs to take even though I told her that the herbs is not helping and that I am not feeling any better. She charged me for the exams and when I ask her how come I am being charge for the exam when I didn’t even sit on ur patient chair nor did you check my pause or tongue. Her reply was «check or not, still charge». Really?! My first visit, she told me there will only be a exam charge if she had to check my tongue and pause. I felt like I got ripped off! Anyways, I asked her when I can do the acupuncture and she said next week I can start. I went to see her for another 4 more weeks and told her that the herbs she gave me is not helping and if today I can do acupuncture? She always say next time. That was the last time I went back to see her.
I am seeing another acupuncturist and he is so much cheaper than her. Not only does he give me herbs to take but at the same time he do cupping and needles on me. My anxiety is getting better. I am so glad that I decided to take my money else where instead of continue seeing her.
If you go there and she suggested that you do herbs first, get up and go to another doctor. I think she is okay as a acupuncturist but definitely not a good herbalist and her herbs are super expensive.

I came here to get some chinese herbs. Dr. Deng asked me questions about my health and was also chatting with me about other things in life. The next time I went to her clinic in Chinatown to try out acupuncture as well as the herbs. I suggest that if you want acupuncture that you make an appointment because she doesn’t know how to manage time well. There were other patients who came and she had to see them at the same time that she had to put needles in me. She was so hurried that she didn’t double check if the needles were fine, which they weren’t. Some needles were uncomfortable on my nerves and she left me too long with the heat on my stomach. Anyways she usually does not bring up acupuncture unless she thinks it is necessary. The herbs helped a little but not so much.

I have been to other SF acupuncturist for my wrist tendinitis. They just treated my wrist, it helped somewhat. I have to say that Dr. Deng was the best of them all. She tested my whole arm, not just the wrist and found that my elbow was affected. She tested my shoulder and there was pain there too. I didn’t really notice it that much because the wrist pain was so overwhelming. She then even tested my other arm. That’s how thorough she was. But it was ok. She treated my wrist and arm with Acupuncture with electrodes for deeper healing and applied a heat lamp. She then gave my arm a gigong massage. All for only $ 40 and parking for 2 hrs. Free at Portsmouth Square on Clay & Geary. For additional healing, she applied an herbal wrap on my wrist for another $ 40. I am very pleased, I had this bad wrist for 4 mos. it’s not totally healed yet, but greatly improved. She was the most thorough of the acupuncturists. I highly recommend her.

came by today for my lower back muscle spasm. Dr deng is amazing, after 30min treatment I was now able to walk straight again. the best part, she now offering 2hr free parking at Plymouth square, that eliminated my only complain about the office location. five star for u doc!

In 2008 I was having severe pain in both of my shoulders. I had almost no strength and very limited mobility. We were on vacation in San Francisco and visiting the fortune cookie place next door. I saw Dr. Deng’s storefront and was hoping she could see me and perhaps give me some relief.
We chose to work on the shoulder that hurt me the worst. She did accupuncture, electric stimulation of some kind and a very deep massage. I was actually impressed at how she muscled me. Afterwards she told me that I would be sore for a few days but I should have some relief after that. She was exactly right. For the next few days I was sore but not in pain like I was before. In fact, about a week later I was completely pain free in that shoulder.
We live in S. FL and although we travel often I could not seem to get back to see Dr. Deng to have her work on my other shoulder. I ended up have laparascopy surgery in 2009 on the other shoulder followed by months of therapy. YUCK!
I am now having problems with the nerves in the top of my foot. I have seen two different «western medicine» doctors, had mri’s and x-ray’s only to be told they see nothing and offer me narcotic pain relievers. No thanks! I am planning a trip to see Dr. Deng to see if she can help with the problem.

Last year I had cancer and had to go through chemo, radiation & surgery. From my oncologist, the recovery after surgery should take about 8 weeks. Yet, 7 weeks had elapsed but I still felt very weak. It was difficult for me to even walk half a block. I looked very pale and still had much pain due to the side effect from radiation & surgery. I finally went to see Dr. Deng. Only a few days after the first visit and taking the prescribed herbs I was seeing major improvement. After a couple of months of weekly visits, I got back the full energy level and pain had been gone. All friends around me had noticed a significant difference on me. I was really thankful for Dr. Deng to allow me to have a life again.
Dr. Deng is very patient and spent time to understand my symptoms. It’s also an advantage that her clinics also have herbs and I don’t need to go out to another herbal store to buy herbs. Unlike most other herbalists/​acupuncturists I had visited, Dr. Deng keeps medical records for each patient including the details of what herbs were prescribed. So, she could easily refer back to previous history during subsequent visits.
Now I continue to see Dr. Deng every other week to make sure that the cancer won’t come back again and I continue to stay healthy.
I have referred many friends to see Dr. Deng, from small issues like cold & flu to big issues like cancer treatment. They all gave positive comments about Dr. Deng. Though in the recent years prices of herbs have increased significantly, Dr. Deng still kept the fees reasonably low. She does accept some insurance but Kaiser insurance is not yet covered. I am hoping that soon she will be able to set up an agreement with Kaiser as a contracted provider so that I can save even more.
I go to her Sunset clinic (open on Tuesdays & Saturdays) for easier parking.

I had very similar miracle with the above reviewer, Steve. Dr. Deng treated my tennis elbow once and my level of pain was drastically reduced. I am a weekend warrior of tennis so I get injured pretty frequently. I had gone to several acupuncturist for needle work and massage and herbal wrap. It helped slightly but I noticed the difference right away after having visited Dr. Deng. She was able to figure out where my source of pain was and it wasn’t just the lower and upper arm as the other acupuncturist had treated. Dr. Deng detected that my pain went as far back as my shoulder and neck! She was right she inspected that area and there was pain and treated it. Shortly after my tennis elbow went away I reinjured my wrist. I am on my second herbal wrap now and will get needle work once the inflammation goes down. I’m hoping Dr. Deng will give save me again.
I’m a fan. The clinic is large and its chilly so dress warm.
