People, do not have margaritas at Absinthe, flirt mercilessly with a cute boy who is too young for you, convince yourself that you are a sex goddess, slam a beer, then go shopping. And — if you know that you are prone to such behavior — leave the credit card at home. If you, like me, don’t know that you are prone to such behavior, didn’t mean to drink that much, and thought you took that credit card out months ago — well, in that case, convince yourself that it is a sign, wander into backspace, cozy up to the cute chick working there, marvel at how such swank clothes are kept in such somewhat shabby digs, convince yourself that you look slammin’ hot in that dress, and pay it off… later.

Backspace used to be, well, a back space. You had to march through the sleek modern furnishings in Find to get to the cute clothes. No longer. Last week, Backspace moved out front to a new storefront at 508 Hayes St. I headed on over after seeing the new Cass Guy line in DailyCandy SF, and they have a great selection of unique yet wearable pieces and are clearly thrilled with their new space. «Shopping should be fun!» the owner declared as she wrapped my new Cass Guy outfit (yes, the line really is that cute — and only Backspace has it) in red polka dot tissue paper. My sentiments exactly.
