AWS Pop-up Loft

On a scale of «waste of time» to «complete, utter, unrecoverable waste of time» this was about a 9 ½. Made an appointment to talk to an architect — 1^st slot was at noon. Arrived at noon and they were all at lunch, which is where I wanted to be but postponed it because I HAD AN APPOINTMENT… hint, hint. Some guy tried to field our questions, but soon admitted he didn’t know anything and Amazon just rotated him down from Seattle for no discernible reason. The «architect» showed up around 12:20 and spent an hour demonstrating his complete lack of knowledge. I kept trying to steer the conversation into areas where he might know something. Attempts were futile. Maybe their parties are fun.

This is a great space ranging from co-​working space, free wifi, AWS technical help, bootcamps or evening events. Highly recommend stopping by. They have free drinks & snacks too!

They offer a lot of tech courses for their software. I came here for a party and I am going to another party this Thurs. Conclusion: AWS throws parties and they are pretty awesome, so you should go too. Drinks, appetizers, free swag.

Great place to hangout and learn about cloud technologies! I put them on the Unilocal map! My friend invited me to check out this free co-​working space and I’m very glad I got the opportunity to check it out and see what it has to offer. Modern and very industrial, it’s a tri-​level commercial space with a pretty open floor plan. Free to use if you have signed up for a visit. I also opened up a free 1 year AWS account to run some virtual cloud servers for testing. Very easy to setup a basic free tier Windows Server!
Co-​working tables on the bottom level with a bar and couches for meetings. Plenty of free snacks for people who are stopping by to work, learn, and network. They have a couple computers on the bottom levels where you can do lab tutorials on how to use the various features of AWS. I did one lab with my friend towards the end of the day but it was honestly kinda of boring haha. When I first came in there was a class in session about AWS network topology it seemed like. I really only understood half of what they were talking about so it was a rather advanced class. I didn’t spend too much time in the second floor kitchen but it is apparently sponsored by Intel and has a TV with couches that you can chill on for a bit. Drinks galore and basic snacks.
I like the fast wireless connection (SSID: AWS 5) — look at the whiteboards or ask for the wireless password. It is a very clean and safe atmosphere here. Extremely comfortable to hang out in and work on whatever project you are working on. GREAT MEETING PLACE! My friend and I even ordered some food while here through SPRIG and got it delivered very timely. It only cost me roughly $ 4 with a promotional $ 10 credit. It is very close to Union Sq., so I might hang out here every once in a while even on the weekend.
