ATD is a clean barbershop with a welcoming atmosphere. Hands down, Alan is my go-​to barber, easy to pre book and always comes through. For the last few years, he has styled numerous hairstyles for me and gives good recommendations. Most importantly, as any professional service, Alan is passionate about his work. Do yourself a favor and hit him up for a cut.

Looked for a spot to take my son for a much needed clean cut. Called and made an appointment with Terrell. He met us at the door and was kind enough to offer a handshake to my my 7-​yr old. This a very proper barbershop from start to finish. Definitely will be taking both my sons here.

I gotta show love for my barber Alan — he is new to Attention to Detail, but if you are looking for a barber that cares about his cuts, Alan is the man to go to.
I’ve been going to Alan for over 3 years and I have not looked back since.
ATD itself is a cool shop, located in lower Pac Heights so it’s nice and quiet.
The shop is stocked with TV’s and you can get yourself a nice beer while waiting /​getting cut.

The guys here are quality. Good environment in a low key shop. They play good music and have sports up. We got into a lively debate about basketball and football, and the jokes were none stop and funny. Pretty eclectic, positive group of guys. Only thing is the pricing. I’m from the north bay and usually get my haircuts for half of what they charge, so I was a little surprised but hey, it’s San Francisco. Overall, a fun atmosphere and the work they do is impressive.

Just got my haircut (a comb over), and now feeling like a whole new man. Terrell, my barber, was awesome and always provides great service. Granted I made a very last minute appointment, I appreciate he was able to give me haircut in short notice.
Attention to Detail definitely does it right. From brushing off all the little hairs from your face and neck, to the hot towel after the cut… they truly live up to their name. Great job guys!

I went in here sot of on accident as I desperately needed a haircut and live around the corner from here and this was the only barbershop I could find. First thing I noted is that the place is clean. Crisp even. I was greeted right away by Anton who asked if I had an appointment — I did not — but he was able to get me after a short while. The one thing about this place is that the guys really seem to take their time. I’m used to my old barbershop back home where it’s in and out and no frills, these guys seem more like artists than barbers — clearly taking pride in what they do. The end result is that my haircut is great, very clean and even though the cost is on the pricey side I may find myself back in Anton’s chair in a few weeks.

If you’re looking for a chill place that pays attention to every detail of a haircut Attention To Detail is definitely the place. Each barber takes the time to assure the best service and makes sure that the clients needs are met. Definitely making this my regular spot to get a cut.

One of the reasons I got into Unilocal reviewing was to do a review like this. When I first moved to San Francisco and really most of my life it was incredibly hard to find a barber that would cut a black mans hair. Imagine one of things you take for granted someone telling you that it was too complicated to do. Or if they did it they actually destroyed your hair so often that you became afraid to go to a barber in general.
It was this experience that led me to try very few barbers and when I found one I stuck to it for life. After three years of searching I have finally found that place. I hope this review helps any black male or a person of any race that wants a quality haircut save hours of frustration and bad haircuts. As long as ATD is here you have a place to go in SF. Whether its fades, fauxhawks, designs, or the latest haircut these guys can do it. The five star reviews are justified.
I have had my haircut by pretty much every barber at ATD and they are all excellent. Anton, Terrell are some of the best barbers I have had in my life which is saying something. There is artistry needed to fade and blend hair and these guys have it. The rest of the team is also great I just didn’t have their cards in front of me. Brandon was the only one I avoid because he didn’t do a great job and admitted he hadn’t been cutting for long.
A word of advice make sure you call ahead. It is just good etiquette so you can make sure you have a time and can get your cut when you want. If you walk in you risk long lines or maybe not even being able to get your haircut as they are busy most of the time.
The atmosphere is top notch. It feels like getting your haircut in a five star hotel. The location is peaceful and serene and inside is a classy man cave. High def tvs on all the latest sports they offer you a free beer or water when you come in and everyone there is has excellent customer service. I have never felt uncomfortable in the place or felt like i didn’t belong there which some barbershops can do when they have a loyal fanbase.
These guys have been here for years but I just discovered them in the past year and I haven’t gone to another shop. I have come in with all sort of complicated designs and styles but the team has years of experience and has seen every cut out there. They will also throw in their own suggestions and styles to make your haircut unique.
The saying you get what you pay for has never been more true. You could go to a supercuts or to a random cheap haircut place in the loin or mission like i used to do but you are rolling the dice everytime you do. If you have an important life event or need to look your best you need to know it will be great and I have never felt more confident in that gamble than i do at Attention to Detail.

Great place, modern barbershop. Jonathan has been cutting my hair for 2 years and I’ve never been disappointed! His taper is amazing, if you’re looking for something new or classic this is the place, they welcome all hair types, which is hard to find in SF.

Let me start by saying this a fabulous place for men to indulge in a refreshing hot towel shave or anew and improved sharp haircut.
In particular, Armando Martinez Jr., happens to be the nicest and most skilled barber I have ever met.
You might be asking why a Woman is writing a review for a barber shop?
Well, I came in with my business partner to accompany him for a trim done by his friend, Armando. Not only did Armando shape his hair into the finest edges I have ever seen, but he made my business partner look years younger.
I’ll finish by saying this is a fine establishment with great refreshments, a professional and friendly staff, along with fresh and modern décor that truly enhances your grooming experience.

I come here when I need a cut. Great cut, always leave fresh. I go to Mondo. Just my personal preference but everyone has the skills to get u right.

Great barber shop, best in SF hands down. The import of a barbershop catering to business professionals is an extremely untapped market in San Francisco. I really appreciate the professionalism and décor matched with well dressed barbers with great attitudes. Anyone can cut hair, but not many treat it as a true business. That’s really where ATD excels.

Do NOT go to Brandon. A year later and my hairline is still recovering from that cut. Not worth it.

I’ve been getting my haircut here for a few months now. At first I was caught off guard by sticker shock but quickly l realized you get what you pay for. I used to get cut by a local barber who charged less, had great skills but lack professionalism. Anton is my barber and ATD is exactly what he does, respectful professional team great shop and the cuts last. Always on time, appointments are consistent and he has the perfect skill set for this type of business. I go every week and sometimes I go twice a week to keep my beard groomed and clean. A real grown up expefeince made for people who appreciate the finer things in life.

I have been going here for couple of years now. I really enjoy the ‘attention to the details’ by the staff here. The first thing they offer you is beer or water when you enter. Makes you feel home! Worth the price!

I went to this barber shop for the first time today and was cut pretty bad during the neck shave with the straight razor. I did not realize how bad the cut was until I got home. There was no apology and I cannot believe they let me pay for the haircut. See photo…

Pretty sure I just found my spot to get my hair done. The space is well put together and clean. The staff is very professional which is not the case at some of the other barbershops I have been to. They cut everyone’s hair from white, black, yellow, green (unlike the woman at supercuts who told me she didn’t know what to do with my kind of hair). Anyways I would say check this spot out for sure.

My boyfriend has been goin to Ken for years and Ive never complained his fade is always on point. I highly recommend him. Support him at his new shop. It’s really nice and clean.
