Asmbly Hall

I used to work in this area but i’m *pinkcheeks* to admit, I’ve never stepped in – though I’ve always been curious – until today.
A friend of mine wore a really sweet lookin’ pair of pants, brought here, and he spoke highly of this spot.
I love the fact that the labels/​brands are unique and that they support local businesses by sourcing + carrying their products here. Anyone who knows me knows i’m a cheap-​o (or tight fist) when it comes to my money but when it comes to quality, I don’t skimp. Same goes for supporting individuals and local businesses.
Alas, the pair of pants are gone (duh) and the really cute coat I saw was out in my size; but the folks here are so friendly + welcoming, I did something I haven’t done in ages. I browsed. I chatted with the staff…
and I walked out with something.
Except for a pair of Celine sunnies I got 30% off of during black Friday last year; I can’t remember the last time I actually walked out of a store with a purchase. (I have so many boxes shipped to work my colleague always teased me about em).
I can’t explain it. It’s just REFRESHING. I can’t wait to see what other artists/​labels they source and custom tees? heck ya.

I just have to note that I stopped in here on a whim, exploring the area as I’m new to the city, and Tricia and staff (and baby!) were the friendliest, nicest people I met all day. They took the time to welcome me to the area and give me advice on neighborhoods, shops, and ways to get around. Honestly, it put a smile on my face for the rest of the day, and I can’t wait to go back and support these great people. Because the clothing selection is awesome — a great mix of streetwear and more feminine pieces, plus some great stuff on the guy’s side I need to check out next time. Thanks, Tricia!

Looks like a cute store but they weren’t open when they said they would. Waited for 20 minutes past opening time and saw people in the back. Knocked, no acknowledgement. Stayed later on Fillmore specifically for store to open. This is the second time it wasn’t open when it said.

Ron is an amazing entrepreneur and inspires me to open up my own pizza joint in the future. His interactions with patrons epitomizes ideal customer service and he will help you make decisions based on who you’re shopping for. Furthermore, he emphasizes the importance of buying local – that’s consciousness and awareness of the big consumerist American apple pie we’re all in, but we don’t think about it when buying that $ 2 T-​shirt from Target.
Support your local vendors!

This place is awesome. The reviews won’t do it justice. They support smaller, local brands and Ron and Tricia are just incredibly nice people who care about their customers and the experience. Just go and you’ll see what I mean.

Super hipster trendy clothes with the most helpful people working there. I went there before a party and got a shirt and a bow tie and got compliments all night… it’s now become my go to going out outfit. I can’t wait to go back and do some more shopping… just need to clean out my closet a bit to make room first!

I have seen/​heard of this venue a couple time through social media and always found it trendy. I came for a small social event that they were hosting.
This was my first time entering and I love the whole décor. It isn’t too big by just the right size store where you have enough space to wander around and browse, while at the same time close enough to ask for help if needed. Aside from the art from the event going on, everything hanging around & the store front is very welcoming. There was a wide variety of clothing lines that I would say fits the vibe of the Fillmore but also the trends going on right now.
As I said, I came for an event. First time being here I could tell who the owners were right away just by the way they were conversing and the friendly atmosphere directed towards other people. The owners are Ron and Tricia who are very welcoming! They make you feel comfortable to socialize with random groups of people but you can also tell are very knowledgeable in the fashion game. Remind me of long last family members that you didn’t know you had. The event had live music, drinks, and spamusubi. How can you say no to free spamusubi?! Now that’s awesome.
You can come here for the latest clothing or trends in fashion, check out some fresh art on the wall, or just stop by to meet the owners! I’ll definitely be stopping by when I’m in the area. If you support local talent and fashion, then this is obviously a place you want to visit in San Francisco.

dope little shop! stumbled upon it while walking on a Saturday night with a few buds after bar hopping. there were some watercolor art pieces on the wall for sale, which initially drew me into the store. they carry a lot of dope brands like Publish and Stance. i ended up copping a nice Publish l/​s button up shirt, which i ended up forgetting in a cab after multiple adult beverages… LOL. nevertheless, it’s a great shop and i’ll definitely be back again.

During my SF visit last weekend, a few friends and I stopped by to check out their store since I follow them on IG. It’s a small world that we are connected thru my boyfriend’s associations. I met Ron, the shop owner and we were chopping it up. I’ll definitely come back here with Jeff when we come and visit for Thanksgiving! I love their selection of clothes and accessories for both womens and mens’ wear.

I came over here while my sister was shopping at Crossroads. I wanted to buy something of quality that would make me feel good. I popped into Asmbly Hall and was immediately greeted by Ron and Tricia. They were super friendly and interested in how I was doing. Honestly, the whole experience changed my mood dramatically for the better. That is the greatest thanks one can give to a business establishment.
The women’s section is full of cute items in a reasonable price range. I was so happy to stumble upon a place I could both afford and love! I left with a gorgeous, fitted skirt.
I cannot wait to come back! Don’t waste your time sorting through the grime at Crossroads. Come here for a real shopping experience! P. S. the mens wear looked really classy and hip. I would totally bring my guy here.

I’m new to the area and decided to explore Fillmore St, which is how I came across Asmbly Hall. I’ll echo the other reviewers’ sentiments: the clothes were great — local designers at affordable prices — and the service was even better. I ended up purchasing a really soft t-​shirt and left with a couple of music and local watering hole recommendations too. Keep up the good work, I’ll be back around soon.

My addictive «substance» is dresses. When I walked into Asmbly Hall a few weeks ago, the dress count in my wardrobe had reached 97 — all neatly organized by season (skimpy summer linens and wooly winter frocks), occasion (little black dresses, colorful cocktail attire, even a few conservative funeral-​appropriate garments, not to mention work attire and the «only appropriate in Vegas» section), and color. I get cranky when I don’t buy a dress a month.
The sales associate greeted me very warmly, but then left me alone to peruse the selection of unique designs. Once I had an armful of items to try on, he helped me hang them up in the dressing room. Two gorgeous dresses with popping colors and cute prints made the final cut. I was told that the designer for those dresses was based in Los Angeles and a limited number were sewn. I’m a sucker for unique pieces and love supporting smaller scale designers. The price tags made the whole experience even better — one was $ 60 and the other was $ 40. You can’t even find mass produced designer items for that low! I’ve worn both dresses several times and got numerous compliments. The quality of the fabric is simply amazing!
I’ll be back here soon when my addiction needs to be fueled!

I can’t believe we’ve lived down the street from Asmbly Hall for 2 months and we just stumbled upon it.
Clothing — For a smaller shop, they have a a great selection for men and women. I’m personally a big fan of their accessories.
Service — 5 stars! Husband/​wife owners… very friendly, know their merchandise well and just all around lovely. They are one of the many reasons I’ll go back… often.
Prices — 5 stars! Seriously… INCREDIBLE! Boutique feel and quality with department store prices.
Overall…awesome service, awesome prices and awesome selection. Just awesome!

Ron and Tricia are the best. Clothing selection is on point. They usually swing by the Social Study for a drink and Ron knows his clothes. He doesn’t hesitate to find you things that would match your style. My new favorite clothing boutique.

Clothing for men and women. Nice array of basics and sportswear with a twist. The prices are comparable to Zara, which is rather expensive for the average shopper but still more affordable than other boutiques on the lane. I would take advantage of sales or groupons when available. The owners are a nice couple with good taste.

Threads: Tailored urban wear with a twist. They offer men’s staples such as button downs, woven t-​shirts, and lightweight jackets, but with unexpected details. Prices range from $ 34 for a t-​shirt to $ 180 for a tailored jacket, but almost all the clothing looks and feels more expensive than it is.
Space: the space is really small, but they have done wonders with it. There is no hint of its former tenant (mattress store). Exposed brick walls (effect) and worn furniture give the space a more homey feel, and contribute to the casual shopping atmosphere.
Staff: Approachable, helpful and just easy. No pretense here. Ron and Tricia (husband and wife) make the shopping experience fun again.
Lots and lots of potential here, and I think it will only get better by their December grand opening. (Soft open until then). A welcome addition to FIllmore!
