Ann Wei, DDS

This is long time over due, but needs to be said (or better yet, written)
Dr. Ann Wei has been my dentist since 2013. I was recommended to her by a sweet couple I met while working as a park ranger in 2012. They gave me her card. And thank god I kept it! A few months later, and old crown can off and I had no idea what to do or where to go. Thankfully, I found the card and contacted Dr. Wei’s office. Allison, her assistant, set me up with an appointment to assess my issue. All the time Dr. Wei inspected my mouth, she went through her method in full detail. I had to go back a few times after that before the crown replacement was completed to get a fitting for a temporary one. 1 month later I was done with the nightmare. I have been a patient of Dr. Wei ever since. It is truly wonderful to have her as my dentist. Thank you!

All in all, if you want to look for a very ‘gentle touch’ and yet meticulously thorough dental examine, you will ENJOY Dr. Wei’s examine style.
My upper right tooth had a root canal 20 years ago and on May 17, 2016, it grew a lump like ¼ inch size and I couldn’t eat through the dinner, the 2^nd day when I got up, it grew like a delta shaped ½ inch size and ballooned up.
After looking up my insurance plan I went to DDS. Alfonso Gonzales, as the list showed, his daughter, Maria Gonzales, is also a DDS, examined me, told me that an extraction of the tooth was needed on the Friday. And she gave me antibiotics to suppress the tooth lump till next appointment for an extraction. I got frantic.
Then I was lucky, my friend, told me this dentist Ann Wei, originally from Taiwan, the type of dentists that I were searching for. Then I emailed then on Fri., her front desk receptionist, Sandy, called on Sat., she was extremely empathetic, heard my description, decided she would have Dr. Wei to call me to see if she could see me at earlier time. That was a Sat., and Dr. Wei called me around 18:00, after having her day and asked me to come in her Mon., when that was her day off at the clinic, her receptionist would not work at the time to take my money.
So on Mon., I went, Dr. Wei, did a thorough examine — SHE TOUCHED THROUGH OUT MY GUMS AND PALATE and then told me that the front tooth was broken inside the bone and thus there was not way but to extract it.
She also told me that just an implant right back to the front tooth would not work for me and made a phone call right away to Dr. Reed Rayher, to make an ‘urgent’ appointment, the NEXT DAY!
Dr. Reed Rayher received me the next day, and because time was tight, or he would have given me the tooth extraction that day.
Then I read a couple of stories here, learned that Dr. Wei has helped several emergent situations for people (well, to each of us, it is all emergency to us).
I’m also sooo happy that Dr. Wei told me that a simply front tooth implant would not help me, if I don’t solve other periodontitis problem. Dr. Maria Gonzales didn’t tell me that!
I feel Dr. Wei is providing a whole scope view of my dental problem and I was very happy with the chance to see her.
On Wed., the first work day of a week, I went back to Dr. Wei’s office, so that I could pay her consultation, only found that her receptionist was talking to my insurance company and the way she talked was so throughout and sweet. It was very pleasant to speak with her.
Now I’m hoping that my dental plan to switch to Delta next year, so I can follow up with her with a ‘better’ plan.

I found Dr. Ann on internet recently. I had very complicated case and was looking for the good dentist. From my first visit I understood that Dr. Ann is the doctor that I was looking for. She is not only good doctor she is the perfect person. Very knowledgeable, patient, really cares about you. I believe everything she tells me. If I found her early I would not had the problem that I have now. Every time I come to this office I have excellent support and care
She and her staff are great. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Wei is kind and excellent at what she does. I fractured multiple teeth in a bike accident on Market Street and was lucky enough to find her office in my panicked state. Dr. Wei stayed very late that night beyond her regular business hours fixing my teeth, and my family and friends all commented at how nice they looked and how they could not tell they had ever been fractured. Her staff were also fantastic and helped calm my panic after the accident. I am extremely grateful for her care.

Absolutely amazing. I’m writing this while in the chair that’s how compelled I am To say how great a dentist this is! Flew into San Fran for a vacation and had a crown came off mid-​flight. Panic, of course, ensues as I am thinking about how the next day is Saturday, I’m starting a week long road trip through Oregon, and what on earth am I going to do for the next week with a loose crown and extremely sensitive tooth while in the middle of no where? First thing Saturday morning I started making the phone calls –begging every dentist who was open to see me. I met a lot of reluctance and down right ‘no’s’ until I reach Dr. Wei’s office. Their answer? That’s terrible, come right in! A little bit of a wait which was to be expected but nicest staff –from the receptionist to the dental assistants and of course to the dentist herself. I’m a bit of a chicken at the dentist (who isn’t, really?) but they took great care of me and talked me through everything patiently. No doubt she is a gem and one of the best dentists I’ve ever been to!

Dr. Wei is fantastic! When I had an emergency with a chipped tooth, Dr. Wei came in to fix the tooth off hours, even finding someone to cover teaching her class at UCSF so she could make time to see me.
Dr. Wei is really friendly, always remembers her previous conversations with you, and generally just makes going to the dentist a breeze.

Dr. Wei has been fantastic. Had 5 crowns done by her 6 months ago and they turned out great. No pain or issues. She takes great pride in her work and makes sure everything is perfect before letting you go. I highly recommend Dr. Wei to anybody who needs dental work.

My favorite dentist! I found Ann by word of mouth referral from another dentist on Unilocal that had tons of positive reviews and hence, too many patients and no space for me. I saw her after I had another visit with a dentist in Berkeley that just didn’t rub me the right way.
I saw Ann, and she took care of me. I wanted a conservative approach and not have to get a root canal if I didn’t need to. Ann took care of the teeth and we were able to save the tooth (for now) and will keep an eye on it for the future.
She’s sincerely friendly, not pushy, very intelligent, and knows what she’s doing. She’s not one of those dentists that will try to push other services onto you to make money. She does what is best for the patient, and that can be rare nowadays.
Also, she has the latest equipment, unlike the other dentist I saw.
Finally, her office manager Allison is awesome. Smart, sincerely friendly as well, and on top of everything. She knows what she’s doing and dealing with my insurance was so pain-​free for me, I was surprised. She simply took care of everything. Plus, I mentioned she’s a sweetheart, right?
My son also saw Ann, and I was pleased with her care as well. The thought that I shouldn’t leave this review on here, because she may get inundated with patients and it might become harder for me to get appointments, did cross my head. But they deserve to be recognized!

Dr. Wei did a wonderful job coordinating complex care with several dentists and performing the actual implant procedure. She was always friendly and patient when explaining what was being done and she didn’t try to push you to get unnecessary treatment. Her professional assistant, Allison, was always responsive to email/​phone calls and worked with us to manage the covered & non-​covered insurance procedures.

Ann Wei, her assistant, and her secretary Allison are all so kind and professional. I had 3 fillings done and they were painless and positive experiences. Very easy to get appointments that worked with my schedule. Thanks so much!

Dr. Wei is an amazing dentist! Definitely the best dentist I ever had.
I recently started invisalign and my orthodontist recommended I get a cleaning and checkup before I started treatment. I didn’t have a local dentist since I recently moved to the area so she recommended Dr. Wei. Specifically, she recommended Dr. Wei because I mentioned my fiancé also needed a new dentist and he has some rather complex dental needs and also was not a huge fan of going to the dentist.
I called Dr. Wei and left a vmail and she got back to me the next day. She was able to see me that same week which is great because I was eager to get my invisalign started. The office is modern and very nice. Dr. Wei was super friendly, gentle and calming. She took her time and let me know whenever there might be something slightly uncomfortable. It was definitely the least painful cleaning I ever had!
My orthodontist mentioned me and my fiancé to her before I called for the appointment so she was genuinely interested in understanding his situation. No pressure for him to make an appointment for her but wanted to answer any questions we might have and ease and concerns for him.
The following day I went into my orthodontist for the impressions for invisalign and he commented on clean my teeth were! Just proves what a great job Dr. Wei did!
Unfortunately, Dr. Wei was out of network for my DMO but I will probably change my coverage plan so I can continue to go to her.
