I called this preschool to inquire if they have any space for my son.
A guy answered and seems like he didn’t understand me.
So I repeated myself and then he said no vacant then hung up.
Wow…great customer service.
I don’t know how all the others got in but if you know you have a business and put your phone number for people to call, at least teach anyone answering the phone to have manners.
Thanks for saving me time.
It is obviously not the right place for my son.

Absolutely a great daycare… no hesitation about 5 stars. As a first time mom it took me forever to find a daycare I was comfortable with for my 4 month old son. I search for months, exploring all options (center, nanny, nanny-​share, etc). The first time I spoke with Carmen by phone she invited me over for a visit that same afternoon. I appreciated this as I felt it would give me a general sense of how things were on an average day (minimal time to prepare on their part). I was very impressed. The home is always very, very clean and organized. Carmen and her staff were very kind, sincere and I could tell immediately they would provide a very nurturing yet education environment for my son. I especially liked that the daycare is small (2 other children)…felt very much like having a personal nanny.
My son started a week later… initially he had a hard time napping (was used to being home alone with mom). Carmen did a wonderful job of getting him into a new routine and long naps soon followed. She provided me with lots of really helpful information which was great as a new mom… she is very well educated in early childhood development. Every day they provide a detailed report of feeds/​diaper changes/​naps and activities. Toys are always clean. I especially like that they do many educational activities (yes, even for a 4 month old) to stimulate growth and development.
Overall, I have only positive things to say. This is a great environment for an infant or young child… they will thrive. Most importantly Carmen and her staff feel like family. As I stated above, I have no reservations about 5 stars.

Carmen helped our couples group take care of our 7 little monsters every other week. She not only establish quickly a friendly relationship with our kids, but also prepare creative educational activities to promote reading, social, art and comprehension skills. She does above and beyond to provide child care service that always exceeds our expectation.

We are very pleased with Amy Child Center. My daughter, 5 months old, is happy & thriving there. She has a sensitive temperament and they are highly attentive to my child’s needs. The first week that our child started at Amy Child Center, I was stressed out and worried all day. Carmen, the owner, encouraged me to drop by anytime unannounced or call to check on her. They went to great lengths to get to know my child, make her comfortable, and respond promptly to her needs. My daughter made a great transition in less than a week. My child smiles when she sees them in the morning. She doesn’t cry during the day. When I pick her up at the end of the day, she’s too busy playing to notice me!
Carmen has a BA in Early Childhood Development from SFSU. She is extremely knowledgeable of developmental stages & age appropriate activities, and is an excellent resource. When my child is awake, she is always engaged in an activity with them. They constantly talk to her in English and Cantonese. They read & sing to her, play music, have her work on motor skills (ie. grabbing toys from the palm of their hands), sitting up on a boppy, tummy time, etc. The other day, a tent was set up in the play area for camping, and the kids were playing inside the tent with a flashlight, and outside with plastic food.
The place is clean and organized. On our first visit, we filled out a visitor’s log. When we decided to enroll our child, she emailed me forms to fill out so they can get to know my child and her habits. Each child is designated a box to hold extra clothing, bottles, etc. They follow my child’s routine at home. At the end of the day, they provide a verbal and written report of the times of the diaper changes, feedings, and naps. Also included is a summary or something extraordinary that happened that day.
Their daycare is conveniently located right off 19^th Ave + Sloat (near SFSU). Not only that, their prices are very affordable — $ 68 a day. Carmen is also very flexible in offering part time, such as 2 or 3 days, and drop in. We send our child there two days a week.
