My father (who lives in the depths of the British countryside with no local jewelry stores) had given me a budget to purchase something for my mother as a gift for their 50^th wedding anniversary. I didn’t know where to start! So I called my San Francisco friend because I have always admired her jewelry — and she recommended Cynthia and Amir very highly.
What a wonderful shopping experience. I had fun (despite being clueless). Amir and Cynthia were very knowledgable — and patient. My budget was at the low end for their incredible store but they couldn’t have been kinder. They brought in the perfect gold necklace that same day. My father was relieved. My mother was delighted!!!

My partner and i came here after being disappointed by the service from other jewelers while shopping for engagement rings. We strolled in to the Amir Mozaffarian store and the service was so welcoming. Cynthia gave us a rough run down of the whole process if we were interested in designing a ring with them. She encouraged us to make an appointment after we had shopped around with other jewelry stores to make sure of what we want. My partner and I both felt drawn in by the personal experience. Needless to say we made an appointment and went in. Before our appointment I emailed a bunch of pictures of rings I liked so Cynthia could have a good idea of what I was looking for. She worked within our budget to get us the best quality diamonds for our custom design. I didn’t get to see the ring until my partner proposed last week and I absolutely love it. It’s really cool how the ring was custom made for me, not only the design but the diamonds were picked out by Cynthia herself. It makes the whole experience feel more personal and intimate. Not only Cynthia but Amir was also very helpful through this process. I loved both their frankness and honesty and especially the beautiful ring they made for me. I am so happy to wear it forever. I was recommended to Amir by my soon to be brother-​in-​law and I am very glad that he recommended me. I started researching diamonds and rings in Feb of 2015 when I decided to propose to my then girlfriend. I exhausted every online resource I could to learn about diamonds’ specifications, dimensions, cuts, and angles. Since I was specifically looking for a cushion cut, my entire focus and goal was to find the most perfect cushion cut diamond there was. After I was through with my online research, I visited about 25 to 30 jewelers in the Bay area and in Portland, OR. From boutiques to big brand names, I compared and contrasted diamonds visually and based on their GIA certifications. I would consider myself, somewhat of a diamond expert at this point! Around June, I walked into Amir Mozaffarian’s jewelry store, located in downtown SF. Parking is a bit of a hassle if you’re not familiar with the city but again it’s worth it. At this point, I had purchased 3 diamonds, two of which I had returned and one (the best runner up) I still posessed. After meeting, getting to know, and consulting with Amir and his lovely wife, Cynthia, he showcased one of their fine FireCushion® diamonds. After comparing both diamonds side-​by-​side, his diamond was the most brilliant and perfectly cut diamond I had seen since the beginning of my research. I was immediately drawn to its appeal and I knew at that point that I could cease my research. Then, we started talking about rings and since I had a particular design in mind, Amir worked with me to custom make a piece of jewelry art that exceeded my expectations. The end result was exactly what I had pictured for my wife to be. Both Amir and his wife Cynthia, were great, helpful, and communicative through-​out the process. They are professional, very personable and friendly. I highly recommend Amir Mozaffarian to all my friends and family, and I’m glad that they partook in this amazing event in my life. They will be our jeweler for many years to come.

Over the past 15 years I have purchased many fine pieces of jewelry from Amir & Cynthia. From Faberge baubles to cuff links to even simple silver neck chains (even though I didn’t realize they sold simple chains until I asked about them). Just because you do not see it in their cases, does not mean that they can not get something for you. When I first walked by their storefront back in the late 90’s I was not sure if I was comfortable going in because the window displays are so stunning and almost museum like but I did go in and have never regretted that decision. I have always felt welcome even if in jeans and sneakers. After all they are there to sell jewelry that meets your needs and your budget.
Some of the jewelry you will find there is just stunning to see. But no matter what your budget is or what your tastes might be Cynthia has a great eye for helping you to match the right setting with the right stones especially if you only have an idea of what you are searching for. They can make your dreams a reality and have earned my respect as my jeweler. Amir makes sure that the product they sell is high quality and searches the globe (literally) to find some of the pieces you will see there.
My advice, don’t be intimidated. These are two wonderful people that just want to help you find the nicest item that fits your budget and makes your dreams come true. They certainly have for me.

30 years ago my husband bought my engagement ring from Amir Mozaffarian on Post street. It is a humble band with small diamonds. I receive so many compliments on my ring and happy to say, 30 years later it is beautiful! Unique and beautiful jewelry.

I walked in to Amir’s with a very specific idea (brought on by months of not so subtle hints) for the ring I was looking for, and walked out with a customized ring that is everything I could of possibly wanted. This ring is absolutely amazing!

Merry Christmas!!! The special gift was a hit! Cynthia was so helpful in creating it. When we first went into their store, years ago, I was somewhat intimidated, because it is such a high-​end store, but both Amir and Cynthia are very approachable. Even Though, we only go in every couple years, Cynthia has always remembered my name since the first visit. Cynthia has impeccable design ability, she knows how to scale the piece to the person, how to scale the stone to the setting, and even the chain to the piece. We have never been disappointed, and today was no exception. Even Though, I was anxious about whether my boyfriend would like it, i had no reason to be, he loves it!!! And the quality is top notch. Their prices are also very competitive and reasonable. We will be back.

No need to look further, Amir H. Mozaffarian is the solution to your ring search! Not sure why a few people wrote less glowing reviews, but I had a great experience.
Worked with Cynthia and Amir on an engagement ring project and I could not be happier with product selection, their experience in the industry, their very exacting eye for design, and professional demeanor. They are great about following up by email or phone… although I worked mostly by email since I didn’t want my fiancé to know about the surprise!
Cynthia is very warm and easy to talk to. I had quite a few questions which she answered patiently and helped guide my decision making process rather than pushing for a hard sale.

Don’t go if you ever need to get something simple done! I brought in a watch, that was required a few links added to the wrist band. I was told, by the owner that it would be no problem and should anticipate a 2 to 3 weeks time frame and I would simply be charged for the links, as they would put the links in for «free.» Well, nothing is «free» at Amir Mozaffarian. The total process took almost 3 months! During that time, the watch company determined that the «movement» was off a bit (despite the fact that I brought the watch in working — new battery) and required service and that since the watch was older, the links would take more time. Therefore, the initial cost was now up to $ 425.00, which was put in writing. I arrive to pick up the watch — the watch was working, but the watch company forgot to add and/​or send the links! The owner never even checked that out prior to my coming into the store to pick up the watch — something simple like that and, again, the watch had to be sent back to the manufacturer. Clearly «apologies» all around for the inconvenience, etc. Finally, when the watch is picked up, the cost jumped up to $ 550.00!!! Clearly, this experience was not a positive one. The owner left me a message, after a stern voicemail and email, letting me know that he can explain the additional costs. At this point, clearly, he is not going to take ownership for anything. At the very least, I believe that the store should have incurred some of the additional and «hidden» costs.
The store does have beautiful pieces and I am sure worth the high prices. However, if you don’t have alot of money and time, walk by.

What a fantastic experience. I can’t say enough good things about Amir.
I was shopping for an engagement ring and got a recommendation to go see Amir. I knew some beginner info from doing research online. Amir helped me understand the intricacies of picking a diamond and took the anxiety out of the process. I felt extremely comfortable and bought a beautiful ring at a price I was happy with.
After proposing my fiancé she wanted to make some small changes to the setting. Amir was extremely responsive and made the changes quickly and free of charge.
I will happily go back to Amir for all of my future jewelry needs.

I had the occasion to meet Amir and Cynthia today as I needed to modify one of my watch bands. While my initial purchase was quite small, I DID look with keen interest at some of their new Zenith pieces that had just arrived. Amir is a consummate professional who graciously accorded me plenty of time and made me feel like a valued customer as I consider a future purchase.
I would highly recommend this jeweler if you are looking for a high quality shopping experience from product quality to professional service.

We’re looking for some nice jewelry for an upcoming event & already had the dress — just needed the adornments to go along w/​it
Staff was super-​friendly & even though we weren’t in our high-​end couture, we were treated w/​the utmost respect & not an eye was blinked as we asked to try stuff on. Let’s just say those chainlink earrings were SO becoming!
But not to be outshone, the nice woman also asked me to try these other statement earrings in rose gold & I can say I’d never have pointed to those for myself but she definitely had an eye & a vision for fashion & what would go w/​my dress
My current quandary is which to choose b/​c I love them both!
Only thing I saw as room for improvement — wished their website had a more accurate accounting of their inventory & there were absolutely no prices listed… but small suggestion as the real beauty is beholding in the actual shop!

Walk through this shop and you will notice an amazingly high ratio of beautiful jewelry to square footage. It’s not a super big store, but there seems to be cool things in every display case. Not like the typical jewelry store where you go in and come out feeling like you’ve wasted your time.
The first time we came into this store, we were just strolling by and the window display caught our eye. Since then it has become a «destination» for jewelry occasions. The pieces we bought have been impeccable in quality. The service is always professional and attentive and trustworthy.

I’ve purchased my engagement ring and both my and my fiancée’s wedding bands from Amir and Cynthia.
They run a beautiful store with a really impressive selection. When I was looking for my wedding ring, Amir had close to 200 different ring designs to look at — and he let us take our time to browse the selection without pressure.
The pieces we’ve gotten are custom or based off of an existing design, and they did a wonderful job of guiding us through that process. They’re really good at helping you figure out what you want without steering you based on their taste.
They’re patient, helpful, and deliver a wonderful product.
Other jewelry stores felt very pushy and mass-​manufactured, but Amir and Cynthia made us feel at home.

We came in here for ring shopping and the service is great! They are friendly and attentive which is unlike many stores around them… including the SF original who ignored us!
In any case, they delivered the custom work earlier than expected with flawless results!

Awful, awful service. My girlfriend and I visited this place while ring-​shopping (and even being dressed up for it!), and we received the snootiest, most arrogant quasi-​service we’ve ever been subjected to.
We were immediately put off by the sales-lady’s condescension and her calling us out for mis-​using terms (in a condescending way). After determining that none of their engagement rings suited our tastes, we wanted to take a look at their wedding bands.
She AUDIBLY SIGHED, and retrieved a box of men’s rings. When my girlfriend attempted to adjust the box so she could see the rings more clearly, the «sales”-lady applied force to the box so that my girlfriend (and bride to be) could not see the rings. PROTIP: If you want to sell wedding bands, make it easy for both of the customers to see them.
Ok, so one sales lady is having an awful day and/​or will be fired soon, right? NOPE. The proprietor of the business was on a call right next to us, so this is obviously her modus operandi. Also, there were NO other customers in the store (Monday afternoon), so we weren’t drawing her away from other business.
Don’t waste your time here. Even if you ARE wearing an Armani suit and are willing to drop the money for a 2+ carat ring, there’s absolutely no reason to support this sort of idiocy.

My boyfriend and I came in to look at engagement ring settings and men’s weddings bands, only to receive terrible service from a female salesperson.
We were the only individuals in the store at 1pm on a Monday afternoon. Service was un-​educational and cold. When the woman brought a box of wedding bands out into the customer shopping area she kept the box closer to her side of the glass cabinet. When I politely began to slide the box toward myself and my boyfriend she leaned on the box to prohibit it from sliding.
She was essentially preventing me from seeing merchandise I guess because they thought we’d run away with the entire box?
We were dressed well and should not have received such terrible customer service. Will not be back here and will warn others against visiting here.
