After an early Sunday morning break in and robbery (in extreme rain, no less) at my business in Fisherman’s Wharf, Ace was the only company answering their phones after hours, and the first to respond and give an estimate for the work. After, I received bids on the project from several other companies to replace the glass, and they were also the best price by far! The owner personally came out and did the work, and I simply can’t recommend Ace enough!

Ace Glass did an excellent job on creating triangular pieces for me at very good prices and quick turnaround time!

Did an awesome job with duplicating a small glass panel (15“x15″) for an end table, completely up front with the exact price, and it looked nicer (higher quality polish) than the original glass!
But the best thing is that they’re open Saturday and Sunday! All the other glass shops around the city I’ve looked at are only 9 – 5 M-​F, which basically prevented me from ever coming in since I’m always working. And when they finished the panel, they brought it directly to my apartment in the evening!

When some knucklehead broke a window on the front of my house I had no idea who to call. Lucky I called Ace Glass. Alex and his team were amazingly customer-​focused, quick and responsive. By the end of the day the window was replaced. I just have to touch up the paint in a week or so. And their price was extremely fair.

I am really disappointed in the lack of response from this business. I have a small window needing replacement glass. Twice, I have called and left the particulars and requested an estimate. Both times, I was told that Alex would call me back. Another week has passed, and «crickets». I appreciate that this is a small job and may not be worth their while, however I would expect some kind of response so I would know to go elsewhere. Well. I will now!

I don’t really make too many reviews but I thought that Alex and his team were so helpful in replacing a window at my store. Not only were their prices fair, the job was done very well and with speed.
Couldn’t of had a better experience! I’d recommend Ace to anyone looking for window replacement in SF!

Called, scheduled an appointment for them to give a quote. No show, no call back. No thanks. I’ll find another company.

I contacted them needing a simple bathroom mirror which should be standard work for this place. I spoke to Robert who told me repeatedly they had the exact piece I need in stock. Robert told me that I could pick it up within a day or two and he’d sand it down for me. Sounded perfect! Robert kindly told me he’d call me back to confirm within 20 minutes. Few days later — no answer. I called back and spoke to Robert again who, again, reassured me they had the piece I needed. He again said he’d call me back within a short time. Once again, zero response. I called back the next day and Robert handed me off to Alex who asked all the same questions again that I’d now answered three or four times (maybe keep a log somewhere?) and said he’d call me back within an hour to tell me the price and lead time. I’m beginning to think they probably don’t have the piece, and are trying to blow me off. Several hours later, no answer. I called back again and left a voicemail. I get another return call from Alex saying he couldn’t help me until he got back to the office. End of day — surprise, surprise, I didn’t receive a call. I call back again this morning and speak to Robert who now remembers me but AGAIN asks for my god damn measurements and finally admits he does not have the piece, but he can order it by Thursday (which is too damn late). Nah dude, I needed that thing like a week and a half ago when I first started calling you. Horrible customer service. Seems like based on the other reviews they do great stuff if you have a big job to do because they know they can make the big cash, but a simple thing is just beneath them. Thanks for nothing Ace Glass.

I have a food cart in SF and I needed a sneeze guard installed around my grill. I found this company on Unilocal and from the other reviews, decided to give them a try. Biggest mistake ever, this place gave me nothing but a headache.
If I could, I would give this place and the owner, ALEX, 0 stars. They market themselves as a mobile business yet they are never willing to come to you and are never on time. I waited over 3 months for my glass to come in and when it finally did, it was the wrong size. Naturally, Alex blamed me for giving him the wrong measurements. When I had emailed him photos of what I wanted exactly and he took the measurements HIMSELF.
The day after installation the glass fell apart. He came in a few days later and tried to repair it. But while he was repairing it he dropped my grill and broke the nobs and ripped the pipe. When I called him on the damages, he denied them. Finally after debating, he had the grill repaired, but wanted ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. HE BROKE IT AND HE WANTED ME TO PAY FOR IT. Does this make sense to anyone?
At that point, I wanted a refund. But not only would Alex not give me a refund, he wanted me to pay him more to order new glass and fix the repairs he CAUSED. As angry as I was, I put my faith in Alex one more time and took my food cart into his shop on a Friday and asked that it be completed by Sunday because we operated on Monday. I had to close my business for 2 days because he said he needed the whole weekend AT HIS SHOP to properly install the glass. I came in on Monday morning and Alex was still working on it. Like the first time he was rushing to get the job done. And what do you know, the glass fell apart AGAIN.
And this time, Alex refused to fix it. Honestly, I think he CANT fix it, but can’t say he is not capable of doing the job.
I would not recommend this place at ALL. They are WAY too expensive for their lack of quality and service.

I have worked with several glass companies in SF and have found Ace to be the fastest, most responsive and affordable. No job seems to be too small.

It started out great — responsive service, set up an in-​home appointment right away for a Saturday too measure our windows (for replacement). Come Saturday, Alex (who was supposed to arrive at 9am) still hasn’t shown up by 9:45am. I call, and he says, «Yeah, an emergency came up. I’ll be at your place in the next hour.» No apologies — and couldn’t he have called to let me know he wasn’t going to show up on time? Then he arrives, and the measurement went fine, and he tells me to email him so he can email me a quote. No quote for a week. I call, he says, hes’ waiting for the manufacturer to give him a quote. Fine. Again, nothing for a few days. I call again, he says, email me and I can email you the quote (guess he just ignored my previous email). I email him AGAIN, and now 1.5 weeks later, still nothing.

On time, on budget, fast and efficient. Alex and partner came out to replace 3 single glass pane windows on one of my rental units. I emailed them photos, they emailed me back with a quote and came out the next day and did the work. They even cleaned the adjacent windows upon completion so they all looked shinny and new. Would definitely call them again for quick single window replacement.

Very poor experience with Ace Glass Co. so far.
I talked to Alex on the phone on a Friday and had a good conversation. We agreed that I’d send him specs over the weekend, and I did. Alex wrote me and told me he’d get back to me with a quote within 48 hours.
Late afternoon Wednesday, I didn’t receive anything so just called to make sure I didn’t miss it. He told me he’d have something to me by Wednesday night or Thursday morning. By Thursday evening, I still didn’t receive anything so I called to leave a message with Alex to see if he had a quote for me.
It’s now Friday evening and I still haven’t heard anything.

I’ve used Ace on 2 occasions for commercial window replacements. One was an emergency situation. Based on the service I received at that time I called them again for regular replacements on another building I work with.
Their prices are fair, and I’ve always received prompt professional service.

Awesome team. Answered all of my phone calls and emails promptly, arrived on-​site on time, provided consultation that ended with him suggesting a solution that required less work for him but was safer and more practical for our business. As a business owner, I appreciate someone this dependable and with this much integrity. Looking forward to working with Alex and team again.

My house was broken into and I called Ace to secure the kicked-​in door.
I was charged $ 255 by their guy, whose work in total consisted of screwing in three pieces of 2×4 with long anchored screws. It’s a competent job. it’s not worth $ 255.
I would have let that slide, except that the work was done on Saturday, and I was told I’d have an estimate for the full repair of the door on Monday at noon. It is now Tuesday at 6pm and i have not heard a word from Ace.

Ace Glass Co is the pinnacle of customer service; Alex went far and above the call of duty to help us with our window issue and then proceeded to save the life of a pigeon.
I called him asking if he could help remove a french window so we could ‘get something’ that was outside our window. What I didn’t tell him was that a pigeon was stuck on a set of pigeon spikes adjacent to our windows and was desperately tangled up and trying to get loose; it was intermittently flapping and shivering. Oddly, our landlady had just installed pigeon spikes outside our windows that would no longer allows us to open them so they were completely blocked. We were at a standstill.
The pigeon had been stuck since the early morning, it was in the process of building (or rebuilding) a nest and sadly got trapped mid-​way. Amazingly, its pigeon partner stood by throughout the day providing silent pigeon comfort while this guy hung upside down, flapping desperately to escape. After spending hours talking to our landlady, her contractor, a fire-​fighter friend, my mom, and a few animal-​savvy folk, my boyfriend and I came to our own conclusion that the only way to remove the pigeon was to somehow dismantle the window.
Alex to the rescue: Alex arrived and opened the window by pulling out the pigeon spikes that were blocking it (the fire fighter said that it was expressly against the law to have any exit or entrance of any kind blocked). Then, (remember, I failed to let him know what I need to ‘reach outside the window, so I had no expectation that he would help beyond getting the window open) he put on some gloves, hung out of the window three stories high, with my boyfriend holding only his legs, and untangled the pigeon. Finally he carefully lifted it into the house. When he discovered the pigeon had an elaborate tangle of threads around his feet, he snipped the thread and cleaned off his legs. Finally, he sweetly laid the pigeon outside, who had gone into ‘play dead’ mode. Minutes later, the pigeon had gone. We hope it flew away and didn’t become someone’s dinner, but either way that pigeon wouldn’t have had a chance at life if it weren’t for Alex. To restate, how amazing Alex is, he removed illegal pigeon spikes blocking our window, risked his life for a pigeon, untangled the pigeon at 3 stories from the ground, carefully snipped thread from it’s legs, all for $ 165 with a 45 minute arrival time.
If I have anything even remotely resembling a glass or window issue, I will call Alex and be thrilled absolutely thrilled to work with him again.

Alex was great! He came out the same day and boarded up my broken window, ordered the replacement and had it installed within a week. Very professional and organized. His name and number is stored in my iPhone for good!

I broke my glass cabinet door and it was simply was my fault. No way I could try and have my landlord fix it. I found Ace Glass Co. on Unilocal.Called, the owner Alex picked up right away and he was polite, efficient, and speedy throughout the entire process. Picked up the glass thursday afternoon by friday evening my glass cabinet door was back in place fixed and looking great. I highly recommend Ace Glass Co. to anyone who has a broken glass cabinet door. Best part is my girlfriend is having some friends over tonight and there is no broken glass cabinet door in our kitchen.
