Not happy!!! My apartment complex hired Jim and his assistant to rewrite the entire building 2 years ago. They have 22 units to rewrite and update and they are still not done. I expected there to be some professionalism when they entered my apartment. It really upset me when I found stuff was missing from my apartment. I confronted Jim and his assistant about the situation both played it off as not their issue. They were the only ones allowed in my apartment besides myself and my partner.
Needless to say, 6 months later, police report filed my stuff is still missing. And the work done by these guys is crap. Broken glass and wires all over the place. I would not recommend them to anyone. I have dealt with many electricians in the past on different projects.
Please feel free to contact me and I will tell you all the issues with these guys. Do not hire them.

My husband and I hired Jim to rewire our house and install a new lighting plan for a kitchen remodel. First, he was prompt, friendly, and cleaned up after himself. Second, he takes great pride in his work and the finished product reflects that pride. Third, as we were acting as our own general contractor, he is extremely knowledgeable and gave excellent advice about code compliance, placement of lights and outlets, and reminded us about things we needed to tell other contractors that related to electrical work (sheet-​rock, cabinet and granite folks), without making us feel like children. I highly recommend Jim. He will come in as a contractor and leave as a partner in your remodeling project.

I have to say that Jim Hillstrom has been nothing but kind and reliable. I have been going through a nightmare with a general contractor, but fortunately had Jim do the electrical work in my bedroom and bath remodel. Definately old-​school, I agree with Samantha! Very trustworthy and honest, and he even did some extra safety work without charging me, and came over to help out with my final issues even when the general contractor wasn’t paying him. I highly recommend him when you don’t know who to trust — he’s been doing this forever and knows the San Francisco inspectors! Thanks Jim.
