History

Established in 1978.

A & A Legal Service has grown from a two person operation to a team of process servers, private investigators and trained court filing and research representatives. Established in 1978 by Paul and Bobbie Anderson, husband and wife. A & A Legal Service has on staff, licensed California Private Investigator #22 224. The company is also registered as a deposition officer. Our General Manager is a 20 year veteran with the company and provides our clients with a wealth of knowledge. In the investigative department in addition to the lead investigator, the investigative assistant has been with the company for 20 years. She first worked in the field but now shares her experience supervising field investigators. Our Process Manager has been with A & A Legal Service for 9 years and is certified by CalsPro in her capacity. Our field staff consists of all independently registered process servers experienced in process law, court procedures and investigative law.

I was referred to A&A Legal Service by a Paralegal BFF of mine.
She’s been in the business over 10 years, and she recommended.
Her words are like the Bible to me. I follow them verbatim.
I started using A&A for just about everything that they’re capable of.
After using W. Messenger and getting my deliveries delayed, or never showing up for a pick up service, I had it with them. So, I gave A&A a chance.
Fast forward 3 years. We’ve built a strong relationship with them.
Liana, Bobbie, and Paul are very knowledgeable and the messenger is great.
So far, this month alone, we’ve had daily if not twice, up to three times a day fire drill.
A&A answered every s.i.n.g.l.e. one of those emails and followed up upon completion.
I am not sure how their rating is so low. I am shocked.
They are definitely my ride or die vendor. HA!

When I worked at a large Palo Alto law firm, I used A&A frequently and was extremely pleased with Brian and Lianne, who were in A&A’s Burlingame branch.
When I moved on to another large law firm in San Francisco, I called the Burlingame office for help and they in turn forwarded the work on to their San Francisco office, where no one seemed to follow up on the serving status of subpoenas. Even worse, my calls weren’t returned. I kept trying to get Brian and Lianne to handle my work but dang, A&A would STILL forward it on to their San Francisco office, even after I complained that the SF office was generally incompetent. The second time I complained, I received a bad attitude. That clinched it. Tally hooooooo!
Five stars for Brian and Lianne in Burlingame. Zip for whoever works at the San Francisco office.
I’ve moved on to another agency — Nationwide — and they’re excellent.

After 3 weeks, they were not able to serve my papers to either person and the court date had to be changed.
When I paid for the service, I was told I would get regular status updates. The only time I’d hear anything was when I called. There were several times times when they said they’d call back and no one did. Each time it was the same, not served yet.
When I finally called today to speak to the manager, the person who picked up (who eventually identified herself as Bobbie Anderson) was immediately short with me before I even told her the problem. She flat out lied giving me a quote of the number of times people had called me. She then told me she didn’t like my tone and «for the 20th time» something or other. The call was not long enough for anyone to say anything «20» times.
Horrible customer service and they didn’t provide the service they said they would. For all I know my papers stayed in their office for the whole 3 weeks…

I had an excellent experience with A&A. I’m suing a landlord who is slightly evasive. They E-​mailed me after the first attempt (failed) service, then called after the second was successful. The whole process took just a few days. I hope I don’t ever need another process server but if I do (or I need any other legal services) I would not hesitate to call on A&A again.

My experience with them was sort of mixed. At first it was good, they served all documents that they were supposed to, no problems (family law case, personal service).
However, on a different case, they did cost me $ 4,800 because the judge vacated a judgment due to the fact that the person who was served denied having been served. I asked the process server they used to look at some pictures and identify the person that he served but he didn’t remember! WTF! My case was affected because of that!
