2010 San Francisco Giants Filipino Heritage Night @ AT&T Park

Pinoys bring good luck.
We weren’t planning on attending tonight since we saw the forecast as rainy. Sure enough, it had been raining the whole night and this morning. However, by the time it was past noon, the sun had decided to show up. My wife called me at work and said my youngest son was bugging her to get tickets for tonight’s game. I relented and she scored some cheap, bleacher seats at Craigslist. I was checking friends’ and family’s FB status and it seems like all the Pinoys were attending tonight’s game.
Todd Wellemeyer was pitching so I wasn’t that excited. He hasn’t won a game and had been horrible. So I told a co-​worker that all the Filipinos will bring him good luck tonight. Got here just in time for the first pitch and sure enough, the Filipino mojo started workin since the Giants hit two homers, scored six runs and Wellemeyer was pitching like Zito.
Who would have thought that those words would utter out of my mouth?
We were seated eight rows back from Left Field and the company we had was fun, entertaining and amazing. We saw Nate Schierholtz gun down Ryan Howard (who was hustling to 2^nd base like Barry Bonds) and Chase Utley from Right Field. (These should have been on ESPN’s Top Plays instead of the double play turned up by the Phillies where Panda clearly beat the throw to 1^st base.)
A regular Bleacher Bum sitting behind us caught the second Giants homer by Matt Downs. Gotta love that Panda… whatever he does is brilliant. And just listening to the conversation between the regular Bleacher Bums had us cracking up all night long. They were capping on a guy sitting in the front row wearing a green, puffy jacket. They were referring to it as a «Project Runway Jacket.» Priceless!!!
All in all, it was a great game and a great time at the greatest ballpark in the world.
I’m telling yah, Dem Pinoys brought some good mojo tonight.
