Good customer service but the burritos are nasty. I would not go back here even if you paid me to go back here. The meat was way to soggy especially just for steak. And a $ 6.75 burrito to boot? I’m better off eating at a fast food joint.

I’m giving this place 5 stars and here’s why: This is my 3rd time coming here and I have received consistent GREAT food, good customer service and the price is fair for downtown. Truth be told — I can only speak of the burritos. I haven’t had anything else but I’ve seen other menu items being prepared and they look good. Many taquerias steam the tortilla. This place puts it on a hot grill to warm up plus this method melts a nice layer of cheese on it. I prefer this b/c I like the brown marks it leaves on the tortilla(like my abuela used to do). I get the regular which comes with meat, rice and beans & pico de gallo; all the ingredients taste great individually, so when wrapped in a tortilla, you have a great burrito. I don’t get extras but their menu clearly states what the upgrades cost. Bonus — they give you a small serving of chips included with your meal — and these chips aren’t from a humongous bag from costco. these chips are freshly made right there and taste it! So good!!! My last observation is this: today I went there and it was busy. very busy. there was a long line snaking around the tables. often, when I’ve ordered food during rush hour, my food is prepared, well.. . rushed. it’s sloppy and lopsided and made half @$$. not this time. the guy who made my lunch prepared it with care and took the time to assemble it correctly. he wasn’t a slug but he wasn’t rushing. he did a GREAT job and I appreciated that b/c how many times have you eaten a burrito or sandwich where the meat is on one side and not distributed evenly??? all this for $ 6.99? THANKYOU!

The super nachos are addicting. Bien hechas las salsas, y te preparan tus nachos al gusto.

Two words: Nickel and dime. Food is admittedly pretty good, but they will nickel and dime you to the point that you never want to give them business. Got a nachos the other day and the lady barely put any pico de gallo. I asked for extra, since, you know… you hardly put any, and then I get to the cashier and she slaps on an extra buck for it. In the grand scheme of things $ 1 is not a lot, but they should have told me before doing it and I would have been fine with it or just said no to extra. In principle, getting nickel and dimed(whether it be getting charged extra or being cheap about the ingredients) is a pet peeve. And its not like the place is cheap — the nachos came out to 12 bucks. Most stuff there is 9 – 10 dollars, which is steep for a taqueria. I asked the cashier to take it off given i wasn’t told about it(and cut me some slack I go there once a week) and she was just shady about it. I told her I wouldn’t be back if she didn’t(I’m not one to make threats but she was being really petty about it so yea I went there) and she didn’t back down. Alrighty then. If you wanna lose a frequent customer over a dollar I’ll happily go back to Chipotle then where the customer service is good and they are not cheapos. Bad customer service will lose me every time…

It was that time of work week, my lunch with a friend. He works in SoMa and I work in FiDi, so we try to find a place in between us. We usually get OSHA to go or Perilla, but I decided to put an end to our usuals. I suggested Chipotle or any other mexican restaurants if he knew of any. He suggested 201 Taqueria, and I was hesitant to go based on reading the reviews, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. This taqueria was in the most unusual of places, inside a Bistro Burger. I got a burrito and the suggested chicken chile verde. It sounded good, chicken stewed in some green sauce. I got the super burrito with the works which came with chips and salsa. Meh. Em, eee, ehce. meh. Everything lacked flavor and my burrito was a little soggy. I did get a good amount of chicken, but it felt like it was boiled and didn’t absorb any of the seasoning of the sauce. I don’t think it would have helped much as the sauce wasn’t that flavorful. A lot of people still go there, but I guess there aren’t that many mexican places nearby. I ended up getting mexican food the day after because I didn’t get my mexican fix from eating the burrito. Next time I’m having my friend come to me and we’re getting Tropisueno. Yum.

Ehhh. Silly me, thought I was smart and avoided the long wait for a burrito at the local taco truck and decided to try 201, despite the ‘meh’ reviews. Somewhat resembling a food court, 201 is situated in the same space as Bistro Burger. I will give the team credit in terms of how quickly the worked– the line snaked a bit around, but moved very quickly. The menu is simple and pretty straight-forward for any of those familiar with burritos(which, you are pretty much required to take Burrito 101 upon moving to San Francisco, right?) Unfortunately, the food is just. so. meh. As some reviews have mentioned, there aren’t many taquerias in the Financial District, so you may be saying, «Well, if I have a craving and this is my only option…» but after my burrito, that craving wasn’t satisfied. I’d much rather suppress my craving until it can be satiated by one of neighborhood favorites. Of course, I still ate the entire thing, so it wasn’t inedible. but a repeat visit is not in the future, especially in a city that celebrates its burritos as much as we do.

No goal. El Tri couldn’t score a winning goal: El 201 couldn’t make a winning burrito: $ 7 for a grilled chicken, salsa and black bean replication you can get cheaper elsewhere. It was OK. Appreciated replacing cheese and rice with lettuce. That move might have got them three stars overall but a $ 0.50 surcharge for a wheat tortilla costs them one. Total was $ 8 and change. Way too much for a burrito that won’t change your life.

This place is mediocre in every way. Why do you charge 50 extra cents for a wheat tortilla? That is absurb. I should be able to choose the tortilla of my choice and not have to pay for it, especially if I am paying extra for guac and sour cream and everything else taquerias love to charge you more for in a burrito. The food was bland, the service was whatever, and I was overall not impressed at all. I would rather have chipotle any day of the week than this place.

This place looks really appetizing. Quick service. But after all, I’m here for _food_above all, and their food was bland. Very.

The carne asada burrito was sooo good! Even the left-overs the next day tasted yummm. One of the best burritos I’ve had in a long time. The chips are super good too. I prefer this place over Bistro Burger any day. The long lines at 201 Taqueria indicate that I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Located in the same room as Bistro Burger, 201 Taqueria is anything but authentic, but it’s fast, tasty, and relatively cheap. The food is plentiful, and the salsa isn’t bad. The guac is actually pretty tasty too. I recommend the quesadilla suprema, which comes sliced and fried up, sort of like a crêpe. What more could you want for a quick bite in between meetings?

This is my go-to spot for veggie burritos! I used to be a regular at El Faro 15 years ago, but now I know what good food should taste like. Try the quesadilla suprema, veggie burrito, super burrito or s-load of nachos! The avocado salsa is pretty tasty and not too spicy. The line moves relatively fast, but now after the remodel, the line moves super fast. This is what I need for a quick lunch when im too lazy to walk to the Ferry Buildingi.

There aren’t a lot of authentic Mexican cuisine places in the Embarcadero/FiDi area so this will do unless I want to venture off to the Mission district. The burritos are pretty big depending on what you want in it. They have the usual meat options(chicken, carne asada, pork, and veggie). Carne asada isn’t as flavorful as others I’ve had but they give you a fair amount. This place reminds me of a less Americanized Chipotle– cafeteria style. It can get a little crowded here during lunchtime since the seating area is shared with Burger Bistro.

If you work in the Embarcadero/Financial District, you know that there aren’t many options as far as Mexican food is concerned so I was glad to find 201 Taqueria tucked away in a corner of Burger Bistro. I checked out the menu and it reminds me a lot of Chipotle’s concept. You can choose from tacos, burritos or taco salads. There are also quesadillas, nachos and chips and salsa and guacamole. I ordered a regular chicken burrito. They make it right in front of you and ask you to pick your fillings like at Chipotle. The burrito was pretty standard. I wasn’t thrilled with the rice and I wish I had asked for no rice, and more beans or extra chicken like the customer that ordered before me. The burrito was &5.99 and quite filling. You can take your food to go and there are also options for calling ahead or you can dine in. Because the taqueria shares the space with Bistro Burger, there is plenty of seating. I think I will definitely come back when I get a burrito craving while at work.

Normally when lunch time rolls around I start the dreaded lunch decision time. Usually I end up picking something different each day. However, when I want a good reliable Burrito I go to 201 Taqueria. I like that the food is prepared quickly(for the most part) the second you order it. Their chicken quesadillas are very very good too, highly recommended with guacamole. Why the 2 stars you ask? The place is still a bit disorganized. As an example, they sometimes have two people making the burritos but have nobody manning the register, so one needs to walk over to the Bistro Burger counter and pay over there. Doesn’t make much sense, does it? Also, while Bistro Burger is open early, the taqueria is usually lagging a bit when getting ready for the lunch hour. They should have everything set up by 10am so that when early lunch eaters(like me) start coming in they don’t have to scramble. That being said, I do see some room for improvement and hope they fix their issues. Top Dine Top Tip: There is no extra charge for meat on the quesadillas.

This place is pretty good! My boss LOVES it so I am here 2 – 3 times a week getting him a burrito. He’s addicted! The line looks crazy sometimes but it moves pretty quick. I enjoy their quesadilla supremas, burritos and tacos. The nachos look great but I think it’s the kind of thing you have to order and eat there. If you like spicy then ask for the spicy pico de gallo, it comes with chopped raw jalapenos! Service is cool too.

Nothing too exciting here, but still a solid burrito in the Financial district which is pretty scarce of Mexican food. Prices are pretty decent for the quality.

This is my new spot! I love Mexican food and have been truly sad since Baja Fresh closed down sometime ago. I went in to get a burger and found this little gem hidden inside Bistro Burger. The food all looked very fresh and I appreciated that the prices were not outrageous. I went with the super nachos no meat on Friday and really enjoyed it. I like that they have two types of pico, one with and one without jalapenos. I also liked that they were pretty quick and they had jarritos. The person in front of me ordered a quesadilla that looked very good. I will definately be back!

This review is really 3 ½ stars, but to give them the benefit of the doubt, I’m rounding up. 201 Taqueria showed up recently as a subsidiary of the Bistro Burger here. To test it, I had the standard order for any new taqueria: a carne asada burrito. It was pretty good. They toast up the(good quality) tortilla and melt the cheese on it first, but they don’t sizzle up the beef prior to putting it in – it just comes directly from the steam table. The condiments are fresh and good and applied liberally. The burrito tastes good, doesn’t cost much, and comes with chips. It’s about time we get a decent burrito in this part of SoMa, and so here it is, 201 Taqueria. I will go back.

Let me preface this saying that my review is relative to the financial district. Don’t compare this to 4-star burrito joints in the mission. Located inside the building connected to the bistro burger, 201 Taqueria is a fine complimentary restuarant that makes a pretty dang good burrito. I had a super burrito with rice, black beans, chile verde chicken, and all the fixins. They add cheese while heating up the burrito which I always love, and the chile verde chicken was moist and really tasty. Too often burrito meat is dry cubes that just bring down the whole burrito. This is not the case hear(can’t speak for the meat cube options). The difference between the super and regular burrito is $ 1, for sour cream and guac, but my super burrito looked noticeably larger than my co-worker’s regular burrito. For the $ 8 super, you get a really big burrito that’s probably bigger than one more can eat. I was really pleased that after getting one small scoop of guac, they were fine with putting more on when I asked for more. I thought the tortilla was a little thin and messy, but I’m fine with that. This was the first place I’ve ever seen flash steam a burrito after it’s wrapped in aluminum foil. I couldn’t tell too much difference, but the burrito was nice and soft. This is a solid financial district mexican restaurant with reasonable prices, tasty food and friendly service. *** They’ve only been open 3 weeks as of this review, and the guy behind the counter told me they’re still looking for new ideas or ways to improve, so let them know if you have suggestions.

Finally was able to try this place after I’ve walked by so many times. It’s a little hidden since it’s in the same space as Bistro Burger, and I think they’re still run by the same owners. I ordered the Super Burrito with grilled chicken(which also comes with beans, rice, cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream). The meat was tender and juicy, ingredients were fresh, and there were other separate sides to fully customize your burrito/taco/quesadilla. I added jalapenos and also a side of avocado salsa. The burrito itself was tasty, filling, and very worthy of my $ 7 and change. Get here early. The space they have to make burritos is very small and the line starts to build at noon for the lunch rush. They use 2 crêpe machines to heat the tortillas, so it takes them a little longer than normal Taquerias which usually have a huge stove to warm them on. Lastly, the cashier at the front was flirting it up with the lady in front of me(do you really need to know what kind of meeting she has after lunch?), so watch out for him. He probably added another 1 – 2 minutes to my wait time. Still a solid 3 to 3.5 star kinda place. After my first try, I’ll definitely be coming back for more. It can’t really compare to the stuff I get in the Mission Dist., but it’s not bad for the FiDi. I’ll probably go for the 3 tacos instead so I don’t fall into a food comma again.
