St Ferdinand’s Catholic Church

Today was my first mass at St. Ferdinand’s in decades! Yes, DECADES! I used to attend St. Ferdinand’s in the late 90’s for elementary school (back when the uniforms were blue) and even had my first communion here. Everything more or less looks the same (except that my K classroom is apparently now where the youth group congregates) and everything is much smaller than I remember… But after coming across a late Sunday mass, my mom and I decided to attend. Now, we haven’t been to mass in a while but hearing Father Steve’s sermon today was amazing. I’ve never actually been captivated as I was with his words. Before I found out that it was Father Steve, I noticed that the newsletter said Father Tom was having a farewell dinner (or something of that sort) on Thursday and immediately thought: «great! Now that I found someone that I loved hearing speak, he’s leaving. Just my luck»… But I just found out it was Father Steve and I definitely will be back to mass on a regular basis now!!! (Disclaimer: I’ve never been to mass during Father Tom’s sermons but I’m sure he’s great as well… The newsletter just led us to believe that it may have been Father Tom running the 5pm mass). Anyway, I’ll definitely be back.

I totally agree with above… Love Message F. I love this church, the energy is great… but I HATE the fact they had to put that big screen in AND have it down ALL THE TIME… YUCK! Can’t you have one service on the weekends possibly that you can raise that and let us enjoy the beauty of the church…

I went to St. Ferdinand’s back in the early ’80’s and I will always have love for this parish.

I love father Steve’s sermons!!! I have been a member for years although I don’t attend enough. My time of choice is Sundays at 8:30am. What I don’t like is the giant screen that covers the beautiful altar but I suppose its required to keep peoples attention. Sad to have that giant thing in front of you, instead of helpful I find it extremely distracting and disrespectful to the cross that hides behind it

Yes I am going to review a Church and if you say negative things about it, you will all go to HELL!!!
Look only reason I am reviewing a church is because believe it or not I actually like this church. I have been to like 7 different churches and not by choice. I am not the most religious person in the world but somehow this one got my attention. NOw I have been to a mass a few times and been late a couple of times, but even when I am a few minutes late and the mass is packed there is parking still available outside in the streets or inside the parking structure.
The mass is in English, which even though I am hispanic, I prefer an English mass. Every other mass I have been has always been in Spanish and I fall asleep half way through the mass and yes I know I am going to hell for that.
Hey their late night mass is not bad and I recommend it if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed. I will be in the back cause I am always late.
