Outstanding tacos! if you’re looking for authentic Mexican tacos this is the place to go. Food came out quickly, service was great and very low prices on all their foods. Highly recommend

I had their tacos de asada and el pastor and a quesadilla with carne asada and they were amazing. It’s hard to come across a good taco place now but their food is delicious and we didn’t have to wait long. Quick service, major plus! They also have Agua de Piña(Pineapple water), Horchata, and Jamaica. The Aguas were the right amount of sweet. They don’t have a parking lot so you do have to try to find a spot on the street. The inside is very small, it only has about 7 tables as the kitchen takes most of the space but they do have a couple of out door seating tables. There is a bathroom though it is very well hidden in the kitchen, just ask the cashier and she will point you to the bathroom. All in all this place is a great thumbs up definitely coming here again!

We just tried this place yesterday, and must say its pretty good. Nice and simple descent size tacos. Late night craving. The sauce is pretty good. The Horchata is amazing. Its very small so consider taking out. Hard to find parking.

Great local eats. Open late. Really like the tostada de camaron and torta with asada. My wife loves the tacos el pastor which has little bits of pineapple served in the tacos. Hands down the best tacos in the Sylmar/San Fernando area!

The food is great !! Good tacos. Good Burritos … & Good Tortas. They even have tostadas de Camaron that very good. The restaurant is clean and the prices are more then fair. But the reason why I give them 3 Stars is because of the *customer service*. They’re rude here. Never see a smile on they’re faces. Or never get a welcoming feeling. You say«thank you» or «gracias». and your lucky if you get a response. People skills is not they’re thing. If it wasn’t for the good food. I probably wouldn’t come back. But over all. It’s a good taco spot.

We came here for a quick bite after reading some decent reviews and wasn’t disappointed with our meals at all. The chilies and tortAs are to die for. I see so many reviews for this place on their asada but no one comments about the amazing tortAs they serve here. If your in the area make a quick stop at el faro tacos. It’s not in the nicest neighborhood but your not here to go for a walk in the park, your looking for a meal to hit the spot! This place is on point . 2 ‘d up guys.

This review is mostly based on the customer service I received here. It was my first coming here and I had a hard time finding parking place because it was rich hour and on a min street. I wasn’t too bothered by it seeing that I was just going to get fast food. I go inside and the place was rather small and a little busy. I go up to place my order and I asked the lady at the register she could make me a veggie burrito seeing that I was vegetarian. She said she could and the proceeded to write it down. Then I was ordering food for my friend and I said«tres tacos de carne». The wait for my food was short but when I got my order I found it she gave me tacos del pastor instead of carne Asada. I wasn’t too bothered as I thought it was a simple mistake that could be immediately changed. I go up to the register and told the lady that she took my order wrong and she was like«no you ordered tres tacos de al pastor.» No, I did not. It’s as if she didn’t care about customer service wrong. I asked if she could just give me tacos I had originally ordered and she rolled her eyes and informed me that she would have to ask the cook. I told her that at this point I was willing to pay for the tacos I originally ordered. A few minutes later she gave me tacos de carne Asada. Now I know it’s a fast food Mexican restaurant and I was not expecting to receive the best service in the world but this was just unacceptable.

This place has some of the best tacos I’ve ever had! Though staff can be uptight and not so welcoming, the burritos and asada tacos are worth it. They have a great variety of salsas and toppings in which you can choose from to add to your plate. Very good and great prices!

This place is the best mexican food i’ve had in such a long time, its a bit on the small side, no parking lot. They only i would like for them to start serving is nachos. They do charge 35 cents for credit or debit transaction but i guess its better than a dollar per transaction that Rigos Tacos charges.

This place has legit carne asada! This is my second visit and the quality and service have been great both times. The indoor eating area is small but enough space. They have an outdoor patio thats nicely lit and clean to enjoy day/night. I love the tacos. There is a side bar with grilled onions and jalapeños, as well as sliced cucumbers. Green sauce is pretty good. Just the right amount of spice. Horchata is also on point. :)

Was working down the street and came By here because a co worker spoke highly of it. Damn good eatin! Straight up street tacos for $ 1.25. I only got asada and pastor but they were very tasty. And they were quick with the order and all the toppings are a serve yourself. Which I lived cause I like lots of extra lime and cilantro. As well as perfect grilled large jalapeños and a warm bin of grilled onions. They have a very simple menu, not a lot of choices but so far the food was great and if the menu is small, usually everything on it is very good! Small place. Seems like they just have street parking. They sell the Mexican cokes as well. Definitely coming back!

Been a loyal customer for years and these motherfuckers just raised the prices on the burritos Over priced for a burrito from a hole in the wall type of location. Food is food but prices are wack now!

Visited both the restaurant and truck. Bomb tacos for sure! The asada and suadero are amazing and the pastor is the best I’ve had. I enjoy this place because of all the fixins’ they have for the tacos. Salsa is great, but I love the caramelized onions and fried jalapeños. They also have thinly sliced pepinos and rabanos which make taco life so much better. The restaurant is hot and stuffy, but it doesn’t matter, I’m down to eat there. I go to the truck for tacos only, not sure what else they serve. Never disappointed! Everything is fresh. Salsa and condiments are iced. Tacos are 1.25, but if I want more bang for my buck i go to Don Cucos tacos down the street where they have handmade tortillas for their $ 1 tacos.

There are a bunch of taco places on Foothill Blvd but after a couple residential blocks turn onto Maclay and you’ll soon find the bright spot in the darkness. I love carne asada tacos but the salsa plays a big part of it. I like the fact that they have an open salsa bar and you can dress your meal as you wish. They even have a warmer to keep their grilled jalapenos nice and spicy. Nothing else is open after 9:00 in the area but there are a lot of empty taco shops along the way. I could see in their windows and they were packed! When I pulled up to Faro’s, I got lucky and a car parked right in front was leaving. It’s always nice to get VIP parking when all the other reviews mention how bad the parking situation is. Others might call it a hole in the wall and it is kind of surrounded by a lot of nothing. But It’s larger and more accommodating than some of the other«hole in the wall» taco spots I’ve been to. There was a mass of people crowded around the cashier, it was hard to distinguish where the line ended. The cashier wasn’t the happiest person I’ve encountered but I could tell she was tired and business seemed to be non stop. I wouldn’t blame her for being a bit worn out and impatient with the customers. Their menu isn’t a 5 page booklet. Pick taco, quesadilla, burrito, tostada, and maybe a couple other items and you pick the meat of your choice. But this still seemed to be an issue with the people ordering their food. I spit out my 2 carne asada taco & pescado taco order. The only problem I encountered was they didn’t have a small drink, and I had to get the medium horchata. No biggie. done. Their tables are all for groups of 4 and I could tell families started to come in and I felt bad for taking up a whole table by myself. But there was a good flow to the people coming in and going out. No one had to wait around for a table. They were mostly waiting for their food. 5 – 10 minutes for a couple tacos might seem like a long time. But considering the fact they were putting together each order from scratch and the nonstop orders they were getting. I didn’t think the wait was bad at all. I wasn’t a fan of the red salsa. It had the consistency of chili paste and it was super bright red. The salsa verde had flecks of red chili pepper and it still packed a punch. I was happy with the spicy kick I got with the salsa verde and my grilled jalapenos.

Great tacos if you ever find yourself in sylmar! Just what you want. Hole in the wall joint with a clean salsa bar including grilled onions and roasted jalapeños! The meat was soft and non greasy! Asada was good and the al pastor was sliced thinly with fresh pineapple. Quesadilla has good gooey cheese. The tostadas with shrimp are fresh and tasty! Come one! Come all!

Let’s look at Faro’s as a representation of classic tacos. Not your«new american» take that some disappointed reviewers seem to have searched for. The flavors behind some of their tacos(namely their Pastor, Lengua, and Asada) are classic flavors: nothing overbearing or innovative, but right. I will admit that the salsa bar(onions, cilantro, lime, and salsa verde) really helped complete the tacos, and without it, the tacos could fall short. Otherwise, the folks here are kind to the Asian soul, and I love this place. A whole meal for less than $ 6? Down!
