American Pool Plastering

We had a very positive experience with American Pool and Safety Inc (APSI)
Our Pool-​Spa combination was over 30 yrs old and black bottom plaster was in desperate need of redo. Large amount of tile on braised bond beam, some of which were falling off.
We did quite a bit of research and interviewed 6 different companies.
Luis Marquez is the owner of APSI and has been in the business a long time, working under his father’s company years ago and now owning APSI.
He was very easy to deal with and spent a good deal of with us during the interview stage, answering many, many questions.
His bid was not the cheapest of the six, but was in mid range and very competitive.
After interviewing and visiting 4 of his past clients, we decided to go with APSI for the remodel (also which included installation of new 400,00 BTU gas pool heater, new standard lights, and some minor plumbing work)
We were very pleased with the work.
All workers are APSI emplyees (i.e. no subs)
All phases went very smoothly (empty, demolition, tile, pebble sheen, equipment, plumbing. lights, retile)
Each phase has different group of workers and all were pleasant to deal with.
Luis oversees all the work and was available for all questions.
There were no major problems and all was completed rapidly.
Clean up was fantastic.
I was truly dreading the remodel experience prior to becoming involved with APSI, but can honestly say they made the whole process very easy to deal with and with no headaches.
We choose a pebble sheen finish with Fujiwa tile and the pool looks brilliant!
Would highly recommend APSI.
There are tons of horror stories out there about pool contractors and subs, you can rest assured you will not experience any problems with APSI.

OMG these people don’t return my phone call. I spoke with the salesperson and they came to measure for a pool cover. Never heard from them again. They won’t call me back. If they can’t help me, why not just say so???

Our project is ongoing with Luis and he continues to show us that we chose the right person to work with. We have multiple contractors working concurrently and sensing our frustration with one of them, Luis surprised us with a tile installation that is everything we imagined, and brought us closer to our final vision for our pool and patio. I can’t be more pleased with his professionalism and service. If you are searching for a trustworthy pool company, look no further.

Luis came out and told me as much as he would like to have the work my pool didnt need the work that another pool company said it did. He told me the issues were cosmetic. Wow what a stand up guy that saved me $ 27,000. When my pool does need repair I’m calling him.

Luis Marquez came to our home to give us an estimate on resurfacing our small splash pool. That was the last we ever heard from American Pool. After about a half dozen calls to people who couldn’t find our address, told us the guy who had our estimate went on vacation, etc. We gave up. It had been 7 weeks since we rearranged our schedule to accommodate an estimate. At this point, we aren’t stupid enough to give a company our money, or access to our home, if they can’t even return a call or follow through with an estimate. I guess the job wasn’t big enough for them to give us the decency of a call back. My time is precious. I’m hoping this will save someone else the time we can’t get back.

Last Aug., I had the pleasure of doing business with Luis Marquez as we needed to redo the pool in our home. After getting bids from numerous companies, I am overjoyed with the decision that I made and could not be more pleased with the outcome of the project! Professional, responsive to my questions and easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend!
