I had this attorney do a living trust for our family and it was done in a most professional manner and precise to our wishes. DO NOT GO TO THIS ATTORNEY, MARJORIE ARCHER IS AN INCOMPETENT AND LAZY ATTORNEY WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT GETTING PAID, SHE HAS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, DOESNT RETURN PHONE CALLS, HAS EXCUSES FOR EVERYTHING AND HER OFFICE SMELLS LIKE AN ASHTRAY! I recently filed for Chapter 7 BK and at first, she was very responsive to our messages and questions, (this is before we paid her the $ 500 retainer fee of course), once we gave her the first part of the retainer fee, she was hard to get a hold of and she never set up a meeting with us before she was ready to file. Once we were ready to file, she then requested for the remainder of her fee ($ 1000), which we paid her, however there was no advice or counseling on her part as to what would take part, what to expect, etc. We left her numerous messages and she’d NEVER return any phone calls. The worst part is she failed to mention that if you have any money in your bank account, and you also have a loan or credit card with that same bank, they can simply freeze that account and take your money. And thats what happened to us, our credit union froze our savings account for several months while the BK was being processed, when the BK was discharged the credit union simply took my $ 4800 from my savings to recover there loss, even though it was already included and discharged in the BK. This process was never explained to us by our «attorney» Mrs. Archer, after repeated requests in person and on the phone to help us with this situation, she simply said, «theres nothing i can do for you», when i asked her if the loan contract I had with the credit union, took presedence over the BK and if it was CA law, she simply said, «I dont know». This is the attorney that cost me $ 4600 plus the $ 1500 I paid her to screw me over. Stay away from her.
