I honestly love this. I was really concerned about leaving my puppy here with all the terrible Unilocal reviews but I didn’t have a choice and needed a doggie daycare. I’m so glad I tried it ! My dog loves coming here and his wiggle butt tells it all. Very happy with this place !

There are only a couple of places I would leave my little girl dog, Emiko, then with Castle Pets. She loved her last vacation there because I had an emergency a few days after getting back from my vacation and she couldn’t wait to go back in through the office. She didn’t even look back to say good bye. So Emi must love it there. The people are very nice and appear to be very good to Emi. I would leave her at the Castle the next time I go out of town. And I always leave my vet’s phone number with them just in case she gets hurt. I love my little girl and let them know.

We were leaving the country and in a last minute need of a boarding kennel for my Pit bull. I wasn’t fascinated with the place but since we were in a tough spot, we left him there. There was a gal there that took special interest in him and sent me private texts while I was gone. This made me feel good.
On 7÷6÷15, while out of the country, I received a voicemail and email stating that my dog had been frightened of the fireworks and had busted out of his kennel and had cut his leg pretty badly and might need stitches. The message stated «I’m sorry for not letting you know sooner, but we have been so busy with the holiday and he wasn’t the only one that managed to injure». Hugh??? He was hurt (2) days ago and you’re letting me know now??? I left specific instruction to Adam the so called manager that I would be out f the country and that if anything happened to call my dad. Well, he was never called!
I asked for pictures to be sent, the gal sent them to me and he was cut badly and in fact did need stitches. When I emailed back to Adam stating this fact, I NEVER received an email back. I sent my dad the next day to check on my dog and my dad was told that «Trouble» wasn’t there but at the vet getting stitches. My dad called later in the day and Trouble still wasn’t back so my dad went again the next day. He was finally able to see Trouble and left me a voicemail that Trouble seemed fine and that he didn’t get stitches after all. On 7/​12, I went to pick Trouble up and when given his bag that I left, there was still (5) bags of his dog food left! I only sent him with enough to last through that morning. When I asked why he had so much food left, I was given the excuse that he ate at the vet. OK, that’s BS since he would have had to have food that morning and again upon returning that evening. (5) bags of food left!!!
When we got home, I looked at his gash and saw a metal piece sticking out. I had to wait until the next day (Monday) to take him to the vet that they took him to and what I found out was that it was a metal stitch that was coming out. I don’t understand… my dad was told that he didn’t get stitches!
I emailed Castle pet resort (3) more times while on my trip with no response. The day that I did speak to Adam when he told me that Trouble had gotten hurt, I was very clear that I wanted management there when I picked Trouble up. Guess what… no management, no owner, nothing but a gal at the front desk handing me my bill. She stated that the owner knew I wanted to talk to him but that he was not answering her call or returning her call.
I later sent pics of the metal stitch coming out and asked what it was, as I thought it was a staple. The only email I received back was that the owner would call, what time was good and I never received a call! Surprise, surprise.
Court, here we come…

Somehow my review here got deleted. This place is HORRIFYING. They lost our family cat, yes LOST him. We went to pick him up (he was the only cat they were watching), and they said «oh, he must have got out…» They literally suggested that we just take one of the stray cats they had there. Mind you, this was a cat my sister and mom picked out a few years before she died, and they just told us to basically pick another one! I was out there looking for him 3 times a day, before school, before work and after work. Castle pets did NOTHING. We posted flyers saying Castle Pets lost our pet, and they ripped them all down. Our little guy showed up at our house (4 miles away) 10 days later at 4am. Luckily, he came home, but this place is so horrible and I can’t believe I even have to give them a star

This place is great! Maybe in the past here do really have some problems but now it absol is a pet hotel i will let my little Skipper come back. Actually i just picked Skipper up from here yesterday, I have a 3 day long trip in vegas, so i ask them to take care about Skipper, a four month old english bulldog. He s doing all good when he come back~eats a lot, bites a lot, every thing is nomal. I think they did a very good job！

I’ve tried a few other boarding places, mostly in Pasadena, and never had much luck, so we’ve mostly gone with a sitter. Admittedly, some of the fault is ours since our bulldog can be a bit of a bully since she’s never learned to share as the lone dog of the house. But our sitter had to back out last minute and we were in a bind. Thank goodness for Castle Pet. They were extremely helpful and had available room. When we picked her up, she was freshly bathed and healthy. At home she was tired and went into her usual post-​playtime funk, like a kid after spending the day at an amusement park. Since she seemed to have a good experience, we signed up for doggy daycare. She’s always super excited to go, starts whining and racing around the backseat when we get close. When she greets the employees, she’s happy and playful. Her butt doesn’t stop wiggling.
I did tour the facilities before boarding her to judge the space and cleanliness for myself, especially since the house at the front was very run down. But the kennels were clean and roomy. There were plenty of space for the dogs to run, lots of fresh water available. It didn’t smell any better or worse than other boarding facilities I’ve visited. When you get a lot of dogs in one place, it’s gonna smell like a bunch of dogs have been there. But they do hose down several times a day, so it doesn’t get too bad. As for the old Craftsman house, they’re in the process of restoring it, and it looks a lot better than it used to.

as of today still have not heard back from these people. They were supposed to give my $$ back since I paid upfront when I got there… just some more BS from them&&so many more complaints since my Nico’s stay… This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. The owners are rip offs who aren’t sure who they hate more people or animals. I have suggested to the ASPCA to go in with hidden cameras to see how this place is really ran. LOSERS

I have been reading all the reviews on this place and am shocked at what has been said. I am sure this things happened but it was probably the old management. My husband and I have been taking our lab/​boxer there for a while now and we all love it! Before taking her there we looked at a few places and this was by far the best! The cleanest, most space, great employees who know how to deal with dogs, very friendly, and super reasonable in price with all kinds of packages along with options that fits your dog.
Our dog is crazy hyper and they are great with her. They go outside with her and play with her. When she gets home she is exhausted which is not an easy task! She gets to run around on an acre of land with other dogs and if she wants to go in the office with people she can do that too. A lot of other places keep your dog in a kennel most of the day to only let them out for a bit or if you pay extra on top of daycare they can get extra play. At castle pet resort they are running free at doggie day camp. If you leave your dog for over night you pay a discounted price to put them in doggie day camp which isn’t unreasonable.
I love this place! It’s the best thing that has happened to us because it gets our hyper dogs energy out so she is well behaved at home. The employees are awesome with her and we enjoy dropping her off and picking her up and chatting with them.
Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

DONT PUT your pet there!!! This is a warning!!!
They lost my parents cat!!! I dropped my parents cat there before vacation. After we came back, we got a phone call saying the cat ran away!!! No one seems cared. From the people I talk to, make me feel like they just lost an item. My parents are devastated!!! The owner said very sorry. They will post the cat picture around the neighborhood. It’s been a week, we haven’t heard anything.
All they said they will buy us another cat if they can’t find our cat. But you know how we feel when you lost a family member…

So my dogs stayed here maybe three times the past year the first time they came back super depressed which I though okay they just missed me the second time they came back almost scared and hand shy and depressed which is really weird because iv had both my dogs since they were about 6 weeks and they have never been hit once. the third they came back they both got sick and which was a huge vet bill. after the 3^rd time never again I now take them to pet smart the come back happy wagging there tails I pay extra for there play time I went even a few times low key to see how they were doing they were great. I don’t no if the owners of castle pet keep track of the dogs or there employees but never would I take any of my dogs there again.

Wow, What a dump this place is, looks like a run down insane asylum??? I didnt even take my (2) dogs out of the car when I pulled up, I told my wife NO WAY!!! this place is spot on with the name «Castle» but more like «Castle Frankenstein» I am being very honest if you value your pets or your sanity DONT STOP THE CAR… KEEP GOIN. Unfortunately my wife said «we came all the way here and always drive down this street so just go in and check it out» we did need to have our dogs boarded and I was given the old «Never judge a book by its cover» speech, As I hesitantly approached the front entrance, I said to my wife still barricaded in the car «Hey Honey» lets play a game its called «NAME THAT STENCH», I wil start Urine? Feces? (possible human feces?, maybe even my own at that point dont know I was in a trance) vomit? decaying body? busted sewer line… You get the point Oh my goodness. IM OUT!!! smells like that really need to be investigated, listen when this «Castle» looks like its was in movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or PSYCHO, you know you are in trouble, I cant make this stuff up folks, As I have read other «frightening» reviews by others I know IAM NOT ALONE in my opinion, One last thing I would like to add, the door to the mausoleum did open and a «disheveled» looking soulless woman came out and attempted to talk to me I just ignored her (sorry Im not disrespectful to people at all but Im not talking to or looking at Medusa) This is NOT happening, I got back in my car and high tailed it out of there… joking aside but if pets are coming up missing, maybe they should also start looking into missing people as well at this dumpy dive…

I had an interesting inside look at this place and would not leave my pet here. I believe their intentions are good, but their execution is very lacking. They are extremely disorganized and have a hard time keeping track of dogs, feeding, medication, and billing. If you are a regular, please make sure your receiving the services you paid for.

Just like the previous reviews, this place is pretty fucking nasty. I came by to pick up my friend’s dog Francesca while she was out of town. Poor Fran’s feet were covered with shit, she smelled like urine, and even though my friend said she paid in advance, these people still demanded that I pay them again. I had to ask my friend when she got back to reimburse me because this fucks charged us twice.
The building itself was pathetic. I felt like I was in part of the deep South where inbreeding still happens. The plants are mostly dead or wilting, and this awful stench is just so pervasive. I’m tempted to take Maria B’s suggestion and go in with a hidden camera to document the atrocities of this place.
Thank goodness for parking down the street — I ended up vomiting my lunch all over the sidewalk while I was walking back to the car with Fran. Noxious smells are something I can’t handle.

Our dog Maggie was left in their care during the last week of July. Maggie escaped, and was found three miles from Castle Pets. The owner did not seem to concerned about the incident and still charged us for a partial stay. One would think that a full refund would have been given since Maggie was not supervised properly. However, this did not happen.

Our two large dogs have been going to Castle Pet for regular day care for about six months now and they – and we – love it. The dogs have plenty of room to run and play, and the owner has plans to expand the play area. Staff are friendly and helpful, and spend a lot of time playing and talking with the dogs, who have free reign over a large outdoor area and the small indoor office. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you purchase a package. Our dogs come home totally exhausted from running and playing all day. On-​site grooming is an added perk as we can arrange for baths at the end of the week and have nice clean pups for the weekend. Our only wish is that Castle would stay open until 7pm like most doggy day cares as it is very difficult for us to pick up by 6pm (thankfully, early drop-​off is available with prior arrangement).
Note that the more negative reviews on Unilocal are 3 years old when Castle was under different management. I can’t speak to kenneling there as we do not kennel our dogs, but day care is awesome if you have a friendly, active dog. Based on how great the staff here are, I would imagine the kennel would be very well-​run and dogs well-​cared for, too.

I took my two dogs here for the weekend on the recommendation of several friends. I was quite pleased with the level of service, care, and attention my dogs received. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and clearly loves animals. The facility is clean and inviting for the animal guaranteed, as well as the human visitors. My dogs were groomed and came home happy… they clearly had as much fun with the doggie day camp activities as they are as tired as I am after my Vegas weekend:) I don’t know what that other reviewer (the one who posted twice) issue is except that she clearly cannot be referring to the same place I entrusted to care for my pets… Castle Pet Resort is a must use for everything from grooming to day care to overnight stays for dogs and cats alike.

This past week we left our 2 Jack Russell Terriers with Castle Pet Resort for 3 days. Before we left our dogs I took a tour of the place. Everything was neat and clean. The place looked like it had been redone in the past year or two. There were a bunch of dogs there for doggie day camp and they all looked happy. Our dogs were left in the inside dogs runs with small yards. I signed them up for hotel day camp and got the impression they were out happily running around all day. The staff seemed caring and listened to what I said. The only negative thing I can say is that my dogs came home a teeny bit thinner. Could have been from all the running around or perhaps they did not eat as much while there. The grooming they did was great. My rough coat Jack Russell has never looked so good. He will be going back for regular grooming with them.

This place is nothing like the pictures. All of their grass is dead, which is the best part. They do not have staff there all day everyday for starters. I know for a fact that when I was there last year the cage my poor dog stayed in was only cleaned once a day, maybe a quick pick up here and there, but never intensive scrubbing cleaning. I also happen to know that If you walk to the back there is a whole are of shephers that are completely abused. They have to live in stool and urine and constantly have diarrhea and never have water. The owner of castle pet restors thalia also breeds these dogs. They are living their life for breeding and they are misserable. Breeders do not love or respect animals so what do you think she thinks about your pet when you go there. And you know how they say they take animals out on boat rides, yeahh right. They also never take them for walks. This place needs to be shut down, please please do not leave your animals here. they would be better off left home alone trust me.

I’m glad that Amy C. had a great experience it seems this place caters to dogs more than cats and that’s where the difference in reviews and impressions are I am guessing…
I took Roxy (the princess) here because they were so close and this is before I found Kim her groomer now. I went to this place and it looked like a run down house (things must have changed by now). Then this lady that looked like she needed to be groomed herself walked out and asked what I needed I told her Roxy needed to be groomed. So she took Roxy and I was on my way… Literally 15min later she calls me and I was like Yes… She says she can’t get roxy out of the cage because she is hissing at her… I had never heard this before. Roxy was always good with groomers in fact she always got an A+ on her report card from her old groomer… Hmmm… So I go back and see her and my poor baby is petrified I don’t know what this fat bitch did to her but Roxy was not having it… I picked her out of the cage and she was shaking WHAT… THE… F***… Then fatso was like I can’t groom her I was like ok if I hold her will you clip her nails. She obliged… but the clippers were rusted and old and she almost clipped off Roxys paw… I paid her the $ 2 for one nail and swore never to go back… So I warn you if you have a cat I don’t think this would be the best place… Roxy recovered and I have never looked back at Castle «Pet» Resort.
