Yelpers Killed The Radio Star Elite Event

A little late on this review, so what hasn’t been said? But here’s my two cents:
An 80’s theme party
Hot, fun, new downtown venue (has karaōke… are ya shieting me!!)
VODKA
If you know me, each and ever one of those has my name written all over it! Absolut (ly) all over it. Okay, it was Skyy and skies the limit for the next 2 hours on the vodka! (That just put a smile on my face) /​smile
I’m digging the setup, I’m loving the martini that one of the awesome bartenders concocted for me, enjoying the company of my fellow Unilocalers, and happily inhaling one of the tastiest and juiciest mini burgers around. And that lobster corn dog, well, that’s pretty clever.
Thanks Danny W and crew! This sneak peek of Analog will totally have me coming back. Oh wait, I think I may have already. ;)

Haha! That was one loooong night!

My review is low, mainly, because I came to this event straight after work, and was starving. I didn’t get a single piece of food. Elites sure do turn savage when free food is within range. I could have gotten a shrimp cocktail several times, but I’m a vegetarian (and no I don’t eat shrimp!). I don’t even think they had a single vegetarian item available, at least nothing I saw.
The «best grilled cheese ever» on the menu was taunting me.
The drinks were good and the bartenders were friendly. I feel bad for the servers who had to battle the throngs of people clearing their trays before they were even able to get out of the kitchen area. They did a good job of keeping their cool.
All in all, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» is the perfect description for how I felt about this event. Too bad, because I was super stoked to go!

I went with my ~B.F.F~ and it was nice to just chillax after a long day of work.
Even though all the tall people ~bogarted~ all the food, we managed to try the burgers which were delicious! The shrimp cocktails and skewer thingies weren’t bad either. SKY vodkas and ~freddies~ were flowing and the party got ~crunk~
I loved the pacman game set-​up even though all the gamers were quite upset that the controllers stopped working…
This party was ~legit~ and ~you know it~

Sooo. I was one of the losers that didn’t dress up =(I surprisingly felt very uncomfortable and out of place for dressing normal.haha. My excuse is that I had just come back from out of town at 3am the night before, woke up early to study for a quiz and had class 2−5pm.legitimate enough excuse? I hope so. I promise I’m not lame! Haha.
Anyway, loved the lobster corn dogs! Hated the fact that food wasn’t coming out fast enough so everyone was like vultures. I mean, this happens at every event. people scrambling for food. but it was pretty bad at this event. Surprisingly, the bar was always open so I sure got my drank on. Mixed drinks with Skyy Vodka wasn’t strong enough for me so Briget P. and I just started taking straight shots and chasing it down with a beer, haha!
Shout out to Mikey, who just moved here from Texas! We all went to Las Hadas after the event and mingled some more so yay Unilocal for bringing people together =) Another shout out, of course, to Danny W. for throwing another great event! You did it again!

WoW My First Elite Event
My homeboy Ron invited me to a Unilocal Party and it was 80’s so I was like «Dude, I’m there»
It was very hard trying to come up with an 80s outfit I admit that. I looked online looking at various of styles. In the 80s it was all about Neon and we pretty much searched all of the southbay thrift stores for hours… but the only thing I found was a pair of poalrized Ray Ban sunglasses.
As we were walking to the event I bumped into an old friend Victor P. His wife Honey just became an Elite and it was her first time at a Unilocal Event as well. Victor asked «Where we were going» I replied, «At a 80s Unilocal Party can’t you tell» showing him my acid washed jeans and ray ban sunglassed… he looked at me and said «so am i, cant YOU tell?!» He was wearing nothing 80’s. LOL. So we all walked into the Analog bar together. Ron was kind enough to show all of us the ropes and what to expect since he is known at these parties as a Unilocalstar!
To be honest, I really didn’t know what to expect, but all in all this party was the SHIZZZNIT! Free Drinks & Food with tons of friendly people… i told myself «this is too good to be true…» Once I got tipsy i was like Whatdahayll a photobooth?! We snapped several pictures with cool people and had fun with all the props. :D
The Food:
Awesome Sliders, a bit to «pink» on the inside for me but i still ate it.
Shrimp cockt-​ailthe cocktail sauce was really good, it just a hint of spice that left my tatsebuds tingling.
When the lobster corndog came out I was one the first one to grab one off of the tray and I was so excited that i burned my tounge :(I just wish my hunger didnt exceeded my good judgment. If I just waited a little longer for it to cool down I would have enjoyed it more.
All in All I definitely had a blast at this event

Fun times for sure! All of my favorite people all in the same spot.
The cocktails were yummy and I thought that the tall cans of beer were great! The food (what we tasted) was super yummy… the lobster corn dogs and the mini sliders were excellent! Not really a fan of the shrimp shooter thing, kind of tasted funny, but other than that all was good.
The layout of the place was nice and efficient. I like all of the design that went into the place especially the cans above the bar that looked like an equalizer (think thats what it was supposed to be)

I was pretty excited about this event as I wanted to meet up with some new Unilocalers! Unfortunately, some bailed and def missed their presence.
Walked in and the party was poppin’!!! We met up with Nino R. in the patio and walked over to the bar to get a couple drinks. Ordered a cranberry vodka and beer. Our bartender was super nice!
We walked around a bit to see if we could score some food. I was famished!!! The only items we were able to try were the ceviche and the lobster corn dog. We decided to hang out by the kitchen, but were ousted as the servers took the food to the opposite side of the restaurant. We never got any sliders :(
During this time, we met some really cool Unilocalers — Jules, John, Chrissy and Alex. (Can’t wait to hang with you guys again!!!)
The music was great and the vibe was happenin’. We took some pics at the photo booth with the 80s toys. Nice touch!!! Loved the 80s music and the people who dressed up! Great event put on by Danny and the Unilocal crew.

How can you NOT have a great time surrounded by neon aerobic outfits, cut off shirts, and headbands galore?
Be Aggressive! Be Be Aggressive! *pom poms* To get any of the tasty tidbits you had to be! Unilocalers were like ravenous monsters (hey, I was one of them) attacking as the trays of shrimp cocktails, sliders, and lobster corn dogs (so good! I would order them off the menu) came out from the back. My heart sank every time the tall server came out… even in my comfy converse I wouldn’t be able to manage jumping high enough to reach.
The bartenders were awesome, the Skyy vodka drinks were beyond generous.

I was all about this event and was stoked that I got in! We flew in Monday night and were so ready for Tuesday!!!
We arrived totally decked out. Bruce with his cuffed jeans, white socks with shiny black shoes, and his cuffs folded over the arms of his black blazer. And then there was me… Black leggings, mens shirt, big belt, tons of bracelets, lace gloves, blue eye shadow… We were totally digging this theme.
When we got inside to Analog I was stoked to see how many people dressed up! I caught Kristin F. first and said hi to her, and then made my way to the bar. Now Sky isn’t really my thing, but the Citrus Vodka Lemonade we were drinking was delicious!
I enjoyed this event. I saw A TON of new faces as well as all my favorite Unilocalers (Ace, Ferdi, Jay, Heather, Vanessa, Bill, Javi, Paige… The list goes on!!!) The energy in that place was awesome, you could tell everyone there was ready to have a great time! Music was a great blend of the 80’s as well as hits from today, photo booth was tons of fun.
I think the only downfall was the food. I felt bad for the servers, they were literally being attacked by all the starving Unilocalers. It seemed like a lynch mob ready to attack. But at the same time I got a little pissy when I realized the only thing I was going to get my hands on was a slider. I didn’t try anything else. :”(So I can’t say anything about that portion of the party.
The slider was good. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bun didn’t fall apart when I ate it. (That’s a BIG deal to me!) I ate two and was decently satisfied.
All in all this was a good time! I’m so happy I was able to make it to the event while I was in town! Seriously, I miss my SD Unilocalers. NOTHING like the crowd in DC. You guys seriously know how to party!!!

Met up with a bunch of strangers, drank a pint of vodka, wolfed a meaty slider and my Unilocal Elite Event cherry has officially been popped!
My +1 (hubby Victor P) and I had a great time! Thanks to Ron C for introducing us to all the cool peeps and scoring us some hard to reach food! Unlike the grub, the drinks were a lot easier to come by. Bartenders were quick, attentive, and generous. What’s amazing is that I didn’t wake up with a hangover! No added drama getting to work by 6am the next day. Overall, a super awesome evening spent at Analog.

Let’s go back, back into tiiiiime.
FLASHBACK to the 80s when shit was legit, when music was vinyl spinning on a needle, when Frankie just wanted us to Relax, hit song-​sound kits were simple keyboard strokes, and Ah-a’s music video for Take On Me was the best animation-​meets-​real-​life to hit MTV.
Analog was the perfect pick for the theme and Danny W. couldn’t have done a better job! Now that’s how you bring the 80s back!
Although, appetizers could have been prepared in advance because there were a lot of antsy hungry people waiting for a chance to grab a bite.
Scored a 2025 Unilocal latch-​lunchbox with thermos… SUPER!!! I’m so ready for the future.

I waited a long time to own a real Members Only jacket and this event was the perfect one for its debut. Analog is a hot spot in a couple ways: 1) need to crank up the AC and 2) Awesome layout, décor and theme.
Seeing cans of tall boys reminds of some good house parties back in the day, some with episodes of violence. Bittersweet, I guess you could say, but the night at Analog was all good! Strong drinks and a good crowd. The sliders were a bit hard to come by, but when I tracked a couple down they were well worth the wait. Anda, the photographer was super cool as we abused the free photo-​op. So very nice and soooo easy on the eyes too. Should I look at the lens or the hot photographer? I think I only took ONE photo though… from what I remember.
In the review by Anthony P. of this event he suggested that I’m part of a «bunch of lovely people» and that I’m a college graduate. That’s AWESOME!!! F U C all the way.

If I judge these parties based on my hangovers, I have no choice but to give this one 5 stars.
The new owners have done an awesome job updating the space, the bartenders had the free Skyy cocktails flowing (which I kind of hate them for) and everyone seemed to be having a blast.
I only got to sample the lobster corn dog but it was super yummy. Watching the looks on the poor little servers’ faces when they realized how insanely rabid we were was priceless. I even saw one server carry her tray of food OUTSIDE and around the bar to the other side so people could get a chance. Awesome.

What a better way to start up my reviews again then to start by this event… Plus it’s my birthday today!

I would open this review with some sort of witty 80’s reference but I don’t know any. I was born in 1987, mmkay people
With that being said, I had no idea what to wear. I wasn’t into the whole Jane Fonda/​flash dance thing so I asked around, asking what else was 80s appropriate. Apparently everyone I asked only thought of work out attire.
I wish I would have planned it out and worn a pink prom dress a la Molly Ringwald circa Pretty in Pink. Sigh…
To recap this shindig:
Analog was awesome and hip
The waitstaff were cool and friendly
The food was nom noms
The photobooth was fun
The Unilocalers were a blast to mingle with
I got completely wasted and surely made a fool of myself
Happy hour + free drinks at event + drunkenly roaming the streets of Downtown bar hopping afterward = HILARIOUS photographic evidence
At least no picture shots up my skirt were taken this time ;D

It feel like forever since my last Unilocal party and what a welcome I’d have back to the scene! Analog stands at the old Mr. Tiki location and is a nostalgic throwback to the things we used to rage about back in the 80’s. Leg warmers anyone?
While there weren’t many food items to sample, the ones that were passed were pretty tasty. The sliders were super juicy and really delicious but I found the lobster corndogs to be less lobster and much more corndog. The ceviche was pretty tasty, but tiny, and I found myself wolfing down quite a few of them. The Skyy drinks were fairly stiff and beers were being served out of the big, king-​sized cans, making everybody happy, and tipsy, in the process.
It was great seeing some old friends and meeting some really interesting new ones. I love the throwback theme at Analog and it’s a great variation to the normally glam or blah places in the Gaslamp. I can’t wait to come back! Danny’s parties as always so much fun and this was no exception. I can’t wait till the next one comes along and I only wish that I could throw such awesome shindigs and hootenannies!

PROS:
— Great sliders, which have improved in quality since their soft opening.
— Servers moved food around efficiently and even got to serving people in the front who weren’t camped out near the kitchen like vultures.
— Quick service from bartenders.
— Fun 80’s costumes donned by all the Unilocalers and +1’s alike!
CONS:
— No karaōke? I wanted to belt out 80’s tunes in their karaōke room! =(

As always Free Food and Drinks brings out the best and worst in us but in this Party in the newly opened Analog Bar, the best won out.
Good food to taste (this is not dinner). Free libations, I will have a Tall Boy please — oh yes the one in the can ;-).
Danny was welcoming new Elite and I managed to see new and old. After more than 2 years of Unilocaling, I have become comfortable talking to everyone even if they are old or new in these events.
Besides showcasing the new venues, its an opportunity to talk to fellow reviewers and share. I hope everyone goes out to the next Elite event with every intention of introducing themselves to some new people.

Oh baby, talk about a packed house.
I was a bit tired from the commute, and still being in my suit didn’t add to the mood. But the event was awesome nonetheless!
I was finally able to meet some awesome Unilocalers.
The illustrious Anh V., Lisa T., and Joanne A. were very gracious. I’d like to apologize again to Joanne for knocking her drink out of her hand, nice first impression eh? haha I totally forgot to flick it up, I was definitely still in work mode, I’m blaming the suit!
The bartenders at Analog were phenomenal and the waitstaff were equally ravishing! I didn’t partake in the free eats or booze, but instead went with several Crown Royal’s on the rocks. 3 drinks came out to $ 13.50…ya gotta love happy hour!
It was great to see señor Ferdi, the lovely Miss Vanessa, my homie Maria C., and of course the fabulous Katie B. (of LA CM fame!). If I wasn’t so tired I would’ve been less anti-​social, but everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves. What more can you ask for?
I had to knock a star off cuz I was trying to play some Street Fighter but the controller wasn’t working. Bummer!
I left soon after…
