With Love

I always feel taken care of by the exceptional customer service that Jimmy & Val provide at this wonderland of a store. I joked that I have to make laps in here bc I always see something great that my eyes skipped over. The layout of the store is like an art gallery, designed w intentional storytelling. I come here when I want to give a unique gift; & I feel great by I’m supporting local artists & small businesses who you are likely to meet at one of the many parties hosted on West Lewis street!

This off-​the-​beaten-​path shop is one of my favorite places to go anytime I need a cool card, special gift or just feel like browsing through all of the treasures they have packed into this little neighborhood shop. Everything is so beautifully & thoughtfully displayed, (How do they keep it so dust-​free with all the smalls??) and the ambiance makes you want to stay all afternoon. When you are done, make sure to check out the other cool shops across the street too!

This place is a little gem in Mission Hills, great selection of cards for the romantic at heart.
Jimmy and Valerie are wonderful people and really care, not only about their customers but about the neighborhood.

I’ve been on the hunt for letter stationary from three separate stationary shops, and none of them carried any, including With Love. What gives? I am discouraged by my recent attempts to bring back antiquated courtship through love letters, but I have found more than just stationary goods at With Love.
Every corner of this store is filled to the brim with baubles, jewelry, and greeting cards that offer the right amount of snap and cheek. The whimsical and amusing gifts found here provide that personal touch, and make it seem like you’ve given your giftee much consideration and thought. All of this, and it lacks any claustrophobic pinch.
Jimmy is an excellent purveyor, attentive but not intrusive, and very kind. I’ve learned some during our two minute conversation at the counter, two boutiques in the area, run by his wife and daughter that I will be checking out. He let it slip that his wife first opened her store here, 20 years ago, when she was just a baby; his words not mine. At 23 I felt oddly comforted by that, and told him as much.
« – Oh, you’re just getting started.» he said, and shot me a smile.
I managed to get away with just a humble bookmark featuring a drawing from «Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats» and a Valentine’s Day card that is oh-​so-​punny, minus the sap, that will hopefully take the cake for my boyfriend.
Check them out. The store is run by Jimmy, a human with a sense of humor, and a genuine passion for what he does. You don’t need to know him particularly well, just take a look at what he has in stock.

This place is really neat. My girlfriend and i loved it. Lots of unique items. There are almost too many things to look at. The owner was also extremely nice. We will be back!

With Love is my go to boutique when I’m looking for a unique and special gift. Jimmy always has wonderful suggestions and new gifts to choose from and also gives great life advice. Not just a shop owner but a friend too… When it comes to holidays or my bday I make sure and hint to my boyfriend to go to With Love. He knows anything he gets me from there I will LOVE!

Amazing place. Has best collection of cards and unique gifts. Jimmy is amazing. He let me go through the entire store and also gave me few things for free because I had travelled from far. I’m certainly going back there soon.

So glad Unilocal led me to With Love! Finally found my go-​to card shop with cards for every occasion or even «just because.» The owner hand picked every card in the shop… so your bound to find something special. In addition to walls covered in cards… With Love also has jewelry and gifts.

The previous review made by me was given to this shop by mistake. It was actually for another bar. Apology for the shopkeeper. And I’m sure I’ll go to this shop next time if I got a chance.

My only complaint is that by the time I leave Le Bel Age across the street, I have spent all my money, lol.
Seriously, «With Love» is another hidden treasure tucked away on W. Lewis Street in Mission Hills. I truly feel transported into a little bit of heaven when I am shopping or getting my hair done on this block.
Jimmy has a little bit of everything… gifts, cards, jewelry and décor. I find something different every time, and I also like to steal Jimmy’s playlists. He always has some awesome music playing.
If you are looking for a unique and meaningful gift for someone, this is the place to go. Just a joyful little mecca of nice things, run by nice people. With Love, Le Bel Age, Château Bel Age and Salon Bella make this block like a mini vacation for me. Enjoy!

If you are like me… a gift is just not a gift without the perfect card. When an occasion graces your life to respond to the fact that a significant friend or lover is having a birthday, has accomplished a goal, or has tied the knot, etc,…‘With Love’ will have thee most original card to celebrate the occasion.
In the age of text messages, facebook, laptops… & ‘bags ‘o’ gifts’ [ I shutter, please pass me the hand-​made paper for fine wrapping ] [what’s up with bags?] #hashtag lame and worse — -giving a gift without a card??? Wha? NO!
The owner, Jimmy Ferrari — love that name. btw, has you covered. He is obviously a sensitive guy with great taste because his card and gift shop is adorable!

I really love this store! A friend introduced me to it last week when I needed a few cards and a gift quickly. The card selection and unique gifts are the best I have seen anywhere, the store did not disappoint. The owner Jimmy was so thoughtful and nice, I can’t wait to come back in when I have more time!

Was looking for a card different from something you’d find in the grocery stores with some meaning and good olé humor and I found it here! There’s a card for literally every occasion! I love this place! Looking for a little gift for someone special to go with your card this place is also perfect for that. Not to mention the amazing smelling candles that last a long a time. There’s also decorations for every season. The perfect place to visit for the holidays and every occasion actually! You will not find another store like it in Mission hills. I will definitely return often:) ohh and the caramel sauces are a must try;)

Since discovering With Love, I will drive from all corners of San Diego just to go there to find the perfect card or gift.
Last time I was there a woman asked Jimmy the owner which of the wedding cards she should get for her mother and he said «well, it depends on what you want to say». This store gives you a chance to really refine what you want to say without making it overwhelming.
A card is the best opportunity to express emotion to another person, a generic card goes in trash, a unique card is kept forever.
The store itself is so much fun to look around, high and low there are wonderful and unique gifts. The prices are good, the vibe is very friendly and they play great music.
This is definitely one of my favourite hidden gems around town.

I didn’t know what to get my friend who was moving and wanted to get her a unique card/​gift. Thank goodness I Unilocaled it because this store is definitely a hidden gem! I was greeted upon entering by the owner (Jimmy), but wasn’t harassed by him when I was looking around the store. There is a myriad of odds and ends here, I could barely stop looking around at every little trinket/​artwork/​stationery. I had to circle the shop at least twice, very slowly, just to take everything in and I still didn’t know where I could start!
It is a mom-​and-​pop store with many unique items you couldn’t find at a large chain store, as well as an old European charm to it. Excellent music playing, and Jimmy was more than happy to help me when I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. His wife and daughter run the women’s boutique across the street, which was equally enticing!
I will be making this store a go-​to for all my gift needs!

The owner is very nice and so is his lovely wife who owns a few clothing shops on the same street. I also had a chance to go into one of their clothing boutiques where I met his wife and daughter and loved it as well. What a lovely family. A local family running small business and doing it well! Kudos! So glad I was out of time or I would have gone to their other boutique and been in trouble. I can’t wait to go back.

How do I describe «With Love»: Charming… Beautiful… Whimsical… Romantic… Lovely… Classy… Elegant… etc, etc ;-)
One evening, the owners hosted a fundraiser for San Diego Ballet, donating a percentage of profits to the ballet. I would’ve never known this adorable shop existed otherwise. That night I scored two sets of «fun» earrings for the wifey for only $ 22.50…buy 1 get 1 half off! Every girl needs a set of robot earrings right?
Come to think of it… I probably should wrote this review BEFORE Christmas, doh!

In absolute adoration with this store! It’s kind of hidden in the neighborhood of Mission Hills, but a gem if you are to ever meander over this way. Also located next to a few other shops within a one block radius, so don’t be scared to come over and visit them all.
SO MUCH CUTE DECOR. I wanted everything, everywhere. Granted, it’s Halloween time right now and everything was spooky/​creepy/​black, but that’s the stuff I love and even the window display was done really well.
This place sells everything from cards to gifts and little knick knacks for your home. I totally suggest popping in.
