Business Owner

Dr. Raffy Dorian was born and raised in Fresno, CA. He studied animal science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from U.C. Davis in 1996. He also went on to complete a Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from U.C. Davis in 2000. Dr. Dorian has been in private practice since graduation from veterinary school. His special interests include internal medicine, preventative medicine and emergency medicine.

Dr. Dorian is currently the owner of Market Street Veterinary Clinic, a small animal clinic in downtown San Diego, Mobile Veterinary Practice an equine ambulatory practice in east county, and part owner of WindanSea Veterinary Clinic, a small animal clinic in La Jolla.

He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association and San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. He and his wife have three horses named Brio, Ulana and Quitana and one cat named Jack.

I want to upgrade my review to five starts for this vet’s office. They are awesome. We just got a new puppy, and brought her here for all the standard new puppy stuff. Seriously, they are the NICEST staff, everyone is so friendly. They seem to actually like their work and enjoy their patients! This makes it so much easier for me to ask questions and learn about what’s best for my animals. I’m lucky I found this place years ago on Unilocal

Thank you Dr. Olsson! My cat has a history of being very anxious during her veterinary exams and gets very upset during claw clips. At her last vet on the east coast she was being regularly medicated and house calls were also recommended. As a new client at VCA Market Street I was concerned about my cat’s anxiety during our first visit.
Enter Dr. Olsson, who remained extremely kind and at ease with my sweet cat. For the first time in years, my cat remained calm and still on the exam table to the point that she let the doctor walk her in her arms right into the next room. I heard no screams or cries (!!!) where she (silently) had her claws clipped and had her rabies vaccine updated. Dr. Olsson is a miracle cat doctor.

We’ve been very happy with Market Street since we got our pup a year and a half ago — we took her there day one! Everyone is incredibly friendly, super helpful, kind to Aeris, and really care about what they do. And they’re downtown/​super accessible for us. The pet partner app they offer is very user friendly and easy to make appointments, get reminders about vaccines coming due, and order her trifexis. We were in a pinch the other day and needed her glands done ASAP and when I called they were able to fit us right in… amazing customer service! We couldn’t be happier!

We are new to the area and needed a local vet for our dog. The experience was great start to finish. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Scheduling the appointment was very easy and the follow up text reminder was a nice touch. When we arrived the place is clean and nice. I enjoy the complimentary coffee and tea! Also, loved the pens (very cute dog and cat design haha). Everyone was friendly and the service was quick. Dr. Dorian was very nice and all the assistants were friendly and informative. I’m glad this will be our new local vet!

Well this review is a little on the late side, but they deserve the praise. I took my cat Adonis aka Donnie here when he was knocking on heavens door with a strange illness. The staff was really sweet and friendly, office was super clean, but had a down home feel. Busy office just shows that people come back for seconds, but my wait was not that long. The doctor was so nice and super helpful, and because at that time i was a little down on my luck he totally worked with me without sacrificing my babies health or care. He was so understanding and not judgie or dismissive, and that is SO rare these days. More then anything they all understood that i would give my left nut (if i had one) for my pets, and thats all i could ask for.
I can’t say it enough THANK YOU!

So this place lives up to its reviews! This is the 3rd vet I tried and have been searching far & wide for a great fit. The place is clean and well taken care of and everyone is so nice! My pup is shy but he did very well considering! The vet was very educational but let us decide what’s best for our pup. I love that. We got his rabies update done in a jiffy. My pup barely noticed! I’m super impressed with the vet, nurses, and customer service. Thank you VCA for providing healthcare with everything I was hoping for. Such a rare find! Hiro and me are proud to announce we have found a vet for life. (:

Love bringing my Boston terrier to this vet! They take great care of him and are always honest about care and procedures to keep him in tip top shape.
They have parking in front which is great and they are also super close to the trolley and quartyard (so we can have a little fun before and/​or after our appointment).

I just moved here from jersey where it was imperative I find an amazing veterinary clinic for my mutts Bryce and Tina. After a quick internet search and a few tries… I landed market street and LOVED IT! Reminded me of my home back in jersey where it was a local establishment that took care of its customers. The staff especially and I mean ESPECIALLY Doc Long, Megan, Gigi, Amy and the rest of the crew is simply amazing. What a place, I tell you. If I didn’t have to eat id spend all my money there on my pups. Very kind and respectful of your needs and ability to be on a budget. loved it and Will make this my Permanent veterinary clinic for as long as I live in San Diego, and perhaps even if I ever return to jersey! I loved its and will be back!

Best Vet in San Diego! Great location, atmosphere and the whole staff is amazing, friendly, warm, and caring. I have seen both Dr. Long and Dr. Dorian, both extremely knowledgable, friendly, and truly care about your pets. I take both of my dogs, Coco and Callie here and they love it! My older dog Coco just had knee surgery a couple weeks ago. I was hesitant about putting her through such an intense surgery at her age, but Dr. Long assured me that it was the best possible decision and she couldn’t be doing any better today! As a former vet technician, I can appreciate a veterinarian that is truly compassionate about theirs job. Market Street Vet has far exceeded my expectations and can’t see myself taking my pups anywhere else! Craig, one of the vet techs is amazing, super friendly and has taken great care of my pups! They love him! I recommend this vet to everyone I know :)

First time experience was excellent. The Veterinarian actually talks to you and there is no 3rd party, really! Compared to other vet clinics I have gone to, which tends to be confusing. My poor baby needed meds and antibiotics from a sudden injury and the clinic allowed me to bring her in, even though they were fully booked! They helped cleaned her up and treated her, we were good to go half a hour later. My dog hates going to her original pet clinic, but perhaps this will be our next location. She seems happy to be there and happy to leave! So, if she enjoys the atmosphere, so do I. This fur mama was very impressed with staff and how they treated my fur baby. They didn’t just treat her as an assembly line. We will see how our follow up goes this week.

I STILL love this place! I’ve had my dog in three times for check ups and then a shoulder injury. I really appreciate that they’re ready for us at our appointment time (compared to vets I’ve had to wait a long time after we were supposed to be seen). They’re all polite and friendly. My dog is Deaf and can be nervous with people he doesn’t know, but they have done wonderfully with him and he always comes away a happy pup! Echo has seen two vets there and they both were awesome at letting us know all of our options while respectfully letting us make our own decision without judgement. I feel like our concerns are always heard and thoroughly answered.
Tl;dr: they’re awesome! my dog loves it, I love it, you’re gonna love it too ;)

Our standard poodle puppy actually runs to the door of Market Street VCA! After 3 visits for vaccinations, he comes out wagging his little poodle tail and looking for treats. Next trip here will be for neutering, so we’ll see if his enthusiasm wanes! Love Dr. Dorian!
So far has been a great experience. Happy this wonderful place is actually walking distance from my house.

I recently brought my two pups here. I am from Los Angeles and was willing to drive to San Diego for proper care of my pups due to sub par experiences from vets in my area. The first visit with Dr. Long and the staff was absolutely pleasant. Everyone here fits into a culture of a hard work ethic, courteousness, and excellent customer service. I felt Dr. Long was honest In answering our questions and concerns no matter what it took. We will definitely be back. I’m thankful for this establishment.

I took my cat there for the first time. All the staff was very attentive and very warm and friendly. The veterinarian called me to speak with me about my cat, he communicated to me very thoroughly and professionally as well.

Dr. Dorian is the BEST! I work in the pet care industry and decided to see him for my furchild’s most recent dental cleaning. He is so nice, patient and explains everything so you feel comfortable. The day of the surgery I had some concerns about a particular tooth and he took the time in his busy day to reassure me and explain everything in detail.
I am so happy he performed my dog’s dental and would recommend him highly for all Veterinarian services. The front desk staff is so friendly too!

I moved to San Diego and was a little nervous about finding a good Vet since my 8 yr old Corgi mix had the same vet since he was a puppy. This location was the closest to me so I figured I would check them out.
As soon as you walk into the waiting room you are greeted and there is coffee/​water for you and treats for your dog. Dr. Steffes is amazing. He is super friendly and always makes my dog feel comfortable (after all most dogs are a little nervous when visiting the vet). I’ve come in to get flea medicine and to get medicine for my dogs allergies. I’ve never waited more than a couple of minutes to be seen and they always get me in and out quickly!
This last Halloween they hosted a Howl-​o-​Ween party for all of the pets. We (my dog and I) had a blast! All of the dogs were dressed up and roaming around the office. There was a photo booth set up, a spin the wheel and win a prize area and treats for everyone (humans and pets). They even had wine and beer! I can’t wait for the next event that Market Street Vet throws!
