Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy William Shakespeare — Hamlet It was an easy decision when I saw the invite for Albie’s from Omar. I had been wanting to see the legendary painted PSA ladies lining the walls and have some good beef. Inside it was dark. Omar introduced us to the owner Ted who seemed distracted. He was running around making sure his restaurant was running perfectly. Crowd’s were making their final visit to Albie’s. Guitarist played old bar tunes. Waitresses rushing from table to table. Omar’s guests trickled in. Omar’s UYE’s are different from the standard Unilocal event. There isn’t any free food to swarm over nor lines for free drinks. Typically there are under 10 guests and you are encouraged to talk to people. Conversation centered on genomes and arcane science but I was distracted by the half naked stewardesses, fried zucchini, and bacon wrapped filet mignon with mushroom gravy. Food was very good here. Hope Ted reopens elsewhere. There aren’t many places where they have great steaks with mushroom gravy. If I was a smarter man I would have helped make improvements to the genome but the world needs ditch diggers too. Thanks Omar for the impetus to get down to Albie’s before the closing and the excellent company.
