Don’t come here if you have an urgent need for care.
Came here on a Sunday around ~8:30p. They’re supposed to be open until 10PM, but this location was completely empty.
My girl had dislocated her foot, and was in an awful lot of pain. A quick search showed that this location was closest to us. Their site, a billboard on the way, and even the signs on the front door all indicated that they should be open until 10PM. They weren’t.
No message on their phone explaining that they closed early or why. No note on their door explaining that they closed early or why.
Not a great experience, especially given the urgent nature of the care we were looking for.

It’s Thursday December 31 at 3pm and I called this urgent care center to see if they were closing early since its the afternoon of NYE. I was right in thinking they might close early since their normal hours are open until 10pm but I thought it was still early enough to go in. I found out via calling that they do close today at 4pm, and it’s 3pm so I thought if I left now I could be there 40 minutes before they close. I asked the receptionist. She said they’re no longer accepting patients (but it’s an hour before you close???) and I asked her to ask the doctor if I could just come in and that I think I have an eye infection. All I would need is a simple prescription to help alleviate. He said no he would not be taking anymore patients because they need the extra time to close. What a crappy doctor if you ask me. Who denies a patient the right to be seen when there is a whole hour left of the clinic being opened? I just feel that is totally negligent. And now I have to spend this holiday in pain with swollen watery eyes and constant drainage that causes a headache. This urgent care center does not have their patients’ best interests at heart. Seems like they care more about getting off early.

Overall I had a good experience at this Urgent Care.
I came in because I had cut my shin open at the local skatepark. The receptionist was nice enough and clearly showed empathy for my condition. I was taken back fairly quickly and the doctor stitched me right up.
I had to come back in for 2 follow up visits to check the progress of the wound. I was told I wasn’t going to be charged for follow ups since they were literally a 30 second look at the wound…
I get the bill for the initial visit along with each subsequent time I had come in. Each follow up visit was $ 87 dollars. Luckily my insurance covered most of the bill and I was left with around $ 300 for a 4 stitch job on my shin.
I would recommend this urgent care but advise you refrain from the «free follow ups»
Would use again if I get injured at OB skatepark a second time.

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned the fruit fly infestation! Using the bathroom in this urgent care, I counted 30 small flies perched on the walls, sink, paper dispenser, etc., with more emerging from a filthy grate in the floor. Truck stop bathrooms are better maintained than this «medical establishment.»

It’s one thing to get bad service at a restaurant. But when you’re in pain and somewhat petrified as to what might be causing it, the last thing you need is Midway Urgent Care, or whatever they call themselves now. The lady in front is rude. The doctor could care less. He misdiagnosed my problem. And he told me to go to the nearest er immediately. I explained that I had no insurance but he told me my life was on the line. I decided against the er visit. I waited a couple of months for my new insurance to set in. It turns out he totally misdiagnosed my condition. If I had gone to the er as the doctor insisted, I’d have paid for an er visit, a cat scan, and who knows what else, only to find out he had it wrong in the first place. On top of that, a couple of weeks after my visit, I went back to get a renewal on a script he gave me and the doctor, and his office, insisted they had never written a script for me. I knew they wrote the script because I used the script they wrote. They were sure that since it wasn’t documented I was making it up. I had to plead with the lady at the front desk to check with the pharmacy. When their call to the pharmacy confirmed the script they didn’t even bother to offer me an apology. If you’re reading these words, listen carefully. The details of my experience at this urgent care aren’t important. What is important is that these people should not be in the medical field if they have no empathy for the patients they treat. And you should urgently avoid this place.

I’ve been to this urgent care three times.
When you’re in pain and you need to be seen, your instinct is to go to the closest place fast enough.
Each time I was in enough pain, not to consider that the experience I had prior wasn’t the best, but hey, my pain/​problem went away.
So this last time I needed to be seen, I broke my toe, and I was in a fair amount of time considering. As I’m completely the paper work at check-​in, I am beginning to realize how insanely rude the receptionist is… not just to me but to others and they are beginning to grumble about it as well. One couple leave. I would have, but: broken toe… so I’m not going anywhere fast. So, after she asks me for my payment… ask her if she can get it because: broken toe… she comes over huffing and puffing, snatches my card and walks off.
At this point, I told her how rude she was – and I would have said more but they call me back. Now, with this woman who calls me back, I can see her, she’s around the corner and she keeps yelling my name though I’m telling her I’m coming, I broke my toe so I can’t walk that fast – she too looks irritated. Finally when I get to the back, I ask her what is the deal with her and the receptionists attitude? Suddenly, she becomes a bit nicer.
Eventually the doctor comes in, it ask me why I’m there. I say I think I broke my toe, he orders an X-​ray, reviews it, tells me it’s broken, and the woman who called me back taped it up.
Again, it’s an urgent care, so you’re going to be taken care of. BUT, I can say this is the worse urgent care customer service I’ve ever seen. And it’s been fairly consistent with 1. The other times I’ve been here 2. Other people’s reviews

Absolutely horrible place. I’ll never return. Customer service has been horrible my past 3 visits. On my 3^rd visit I walked out due to how horribly the front desk staff was to myself and my husband. I can’t say much for their patient care either. I would not recommend. US Healthworks in Kearny Mesa is a much cleaner facility, has great staff, and treatment was great!

Not sure what issues people had here. I had a wonderful experience and they likely saved my life.

went there about 7 p. m weekday
waited no more than 20 mins to see nurse, another 5 to see Dr.
they did xray, urine analysis and a swab up the nose all right there in less than 30 mins and i was diagnosed with pnemonia. If i had continued, without treatment, who knows what could have happened.
I spend three days in bed, slowly working back to normal and now i’m a raving fan. The female Dr. with the red hair (so sorry i forgot her name) had great bed side manor and was very thorough.

I’d also give it zero star if possible. My son was recently attacked and possibly inhaled a bridge from his teeth. We went there to have X-​ray done. First was told that they wouldn’t treat him because he was attacked. Being as its a criminal case. So I said I have ins and the DA said to go get treated and have x-​rays. So then nurse says NO we don’t do X-​rays here. I said I already checked & they do do X-​rays. So then her reply was we had to go to ER/​Hospital because they have a better X-​ray machine. Seems like they DONT want patients… Could it be its a front for something else ??? Mmmmmm I wonder

I wish I could give a zero.
I rushed to get here after class at SDSU with horrible, horrible back pain, showed up 20 minutes before ten (their close time), and they were all locked up and gone.

Hmm is it possible for a zero star experience based on our last one with our toddler son?
I’ll preface it with the fact that I had a decent visit with another physician at this facility when I was sick myself including the doctor calling at home after hours to check on me. Not bad.
But this past experience was pure crap. I’ve never been made to feel like more of a number than at this visit and zero bedside manner. We brought our two year old in for a lingering cough and the nurse doing triage couldn’t even get the thermometer to read properly! So no telling if he was running a fever or anything at that point.
Doctor comes in, listens to his chest only, proclaims bronchitis and sends us on our way with a Z Pack and cough medicine. Doesn’t even bother to check anything else. Felt like a cattle call.
Fast forward to today, now we have a runny nose, fever, the works. Not trusting that doctor, we bring him to his ped who swabs him for RSV and sure enough that’s what it is. Think we will stick to minute clinic at CVS as weekend alternative as their bedside manner and thoroughness is far superior!!!

I had a hand infection that had a red streak growing up my arm. I told the clerk regarding it and how critical it can be and to either ask someone about it or look it up. The lady at the desk acted like it was not a big deal and did not care. After waiting an hour and a half the I go to remind her again that this is a big emergency after them telling me it would be only 45 minutes. I watch someone walk in and gets seen before me. I get upset and I tell them to go ask a professional about me right now. As she finally gets her lazy self Up and tells the doctor. He immediately rushes to me and says I need to go to the emergency room and this can be a big deal. All that time wasted because of an associate and her lazy work culture. To top it off. She forgot to give me my ID. so after left I had to turn around to get it and she didn’t even say sorry. Thanks urgent care. You are a part of the reason people don’t believe in the medical care that Is provided. If I knew her name I wouldn’t have an issue posting it. I really hope she doesn’t work there any more and please believe. Never going back

I went first thing in the morning for a sprained ankle and everyone was super sweet and sympathetic. the doc was great and the nurse (NP? not sure…) was even better. they got me in and out quickly and did everything they could to make sure i was comfortable. so glad to have this so close!

I took my sweet man here to get an antibiotic for an inner ear infection. We were lucky & got in & out within 30 minutes. The front desk gal was friendly enough and the physician was nice and thorough. The medical assistant, only fair. As a healthcare professional who’s worked in healthcare for 27 years, a licensed OT for 19 years, I am acutely aware of protocol in the healthcare arena.
First of all, to be told, «we don’t allow anyone to come with the patient» is bullshit. If the patients is asking another person to accompany them, AND, both patient and guest have offered to sign a HIPPA release, the patient can have another person with them. I offered this and wasn’t even acknowledged. Very rude. I entered the exam room with my man, stating,“I’ll just stand out of the way. Thank you for your help“
Remember, YOU can accompany your loved one in a medical exam, especially if you sign a HIPPA release. If you become unruly, disrespectful or intrusive, you WILL be asked to leave the area/​room as you should.
Overall, service was good, clinic clean, Dr. was professional and we received what we needed.

Horrible service, walk in the lady does not speak clearly, won’t look up from her computer to talk to us with the customer service we deserve. Tells us to fax our card over with an app and gives no further explanation. Luckily a girl was nice enough to show us how to do it and give us the number for the fact machine that the First Lady failed to do!!! They hardly accept any insurance «we don’t accept that but we can still see you» I heard them say to 5 different people. Doctor was rude. Just a horrible experience and a horrible service. Such a joke.

I had a pretty awful experience here. My primary care provider is in another state so I was looking for an urgent care place and was referred here by another clinic. I should have checked Unilocal and seen the negative reviews… but I was in a rush to be seen and frustrated by an entire day of trying to find places that would accept my insurance. This place is dirty, unprofessional, and has unpleasant staff. The doctor who saw me (Timothy Cannis) was unpleasant, rude, interrupted constantly as I was answering basic questions, and incredibly patronizing. The back of the office had lots of fruit flies flying around. The exam room was dusty and outdated. The front waiting room wasn’t perfect, but definitely did not give warning signs like the back of the office did, so I didn’t feel apprehensive until it was too late. I’ve never experienced a medical office this bad.

I was referred to Urgent Care & More because my regular doctor didn’t have any appointments available within 48 hours. After reading the Unilocal reviews I was kinda freaked out by what I was walking into. However, my experience was nothing other than pleasant, quick and uncomplicated.
I really liked that it was a walk in. The location was convenient and easy to find. I went around 0845 and there was no one else in the waiting room. I filled out simple paperwork and was seen within 10 minutes. The receptionist and nurse were very nice and patient with me. I was kind of out of it due to a massive headache/​sinus infection so they had to repeat things a few times but they were a great help. I had Dr. Cannis. He did everything I thought he would do with my symptoms. He assessed what was going on and told me the plan to make it better. He listened to my concerns and was knowledgeable on the symptoms. He sent me home with prescriptions and pamphlets describing what the diagnosis was. It has only been a few hours and I already feel 10x better than I did this morning.
I would have given it 5 stars but there really wasn’t any privacy at the place and it was kinda cluttered with random stuff all over. It was fine for me since I was the only person there but if there would have been multiple patients, it might have been uncomfortable. I would go back though if I needed to.

There really is no other rating I can give these folks, because that is the level of service they provide. I don’t see how they can operate as a medical facility because they didn’t seem to consider my medical issue when I was turned away.
The posted hours for this establishment is 8am to 10pm. I arrived at 9:20pm, and patiently stood in line behind someone settling their bill. There was one other person in the waiting room. I waited approximately 10 minutes before the person at the desk finished up with the other patient. When I approached the desk, I greeted the lady and pointed to my eye, which was visibly swollen shut. She then explained that they are not accepting any more patients tonight.
Now, I wouldn’t be as critical of these folks not abiding by their own posted hours if any one of the 3 employees I observed would have told me that I won’t be seen. Instead they made me wait 10 minutes to turn me away. And apparently they do this regularly, since they have a printed list of alternative providers (aka emergency rooms) to hand to the people they won’t see so they can get home early.
On a positive note, even though Sharp’s urgent care also closes at 10, and even though I got there only a few minutes before that time, they welcomed me and provided me with excellent care. So, thank you, random terrible urgent care, for forcing me to go somewhere superior!

I’m amazed this place has not had their medical license revoked. First my wife was prescribed penicillin for what was later diagnosed as carpal tunnel.
Later we went with my infant daughter. She was diagnosed as having a throat infection but he never even swabbed her throat. Our pediatrician later indicated that infants don’t really get throat infections and you certainly couldn’t tell without swabbing. She said this just isn’t pediatrics and stay away from this place. Also the medicine prescribed was worthless.

Don’t know what to make of other people’s bad experience here, but mine was good. Front desk was nice, doctor was nice and they resolved my problem pretty quickly.
It helped that I went in the middle of the day during the week. I was the only one there, they didn’t make me wait long. Doctor thought I needed a tetanus shot and I got one. Didn’t even hurt.
So far, I would go back here for the small stuff. I am on Medi Care, so they were on my list of places to go that I don’t have to pay for. Sweet!
