I had an amazing first and last tattoo experience here 3 weeks ago. I thought long and hard about the sentimental flower I wanted on my wrist. Thought about it for four years, in fact. I did my research and finally decided (and hoped) this was the place for me. Nice, nice people and the artist (Casey? Wife’s a hair stylist, mil also works there?) couldn’t have been more professional and kind. His work is excellent! My 2″ flower is delicate and feminine and exactly like the photo I brought him. So impressed. Also, if you’re a middle aged woman and not comfortable with the idea of a «tat parlor» per se this salon atmosphere is the place to go. A high 5 star experience.

Carrie Podrup is amazing! She had been my hairdresser for many many years until she decided to take a break to focus on her new family. However, she is back and this last Saturday came to me and performed her hair magic on me and my entire wedding party before the wedding. We all looked so beautiful! Carrie is very talented and knows her hair! I highly recommend her for any and ALL hair services. Thank you so much Carrie!

They fixed my resting bitch face eyebrows (lol) and had my hair done by Emily. Oh… My… Gawd… She did an AMAZING job! The best my hair has ever looked. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. This is now my official salon for all my beauty needs. It’s like family in there! Everyone is so incredibly friendly and professional.

Tried their new microblading service today and was very impressed! Not just by the quality of work but by the instructions and teaching given by their new Esthetician Kim. She was very thorough and explained the procedure before, during, and after with post-​care instructions. Everything was clean and sterile. I naturally do not have thick eyebrows and was fascinated by the concept. For those of you looking for a semi-​permanent option and alternative to shading in your eyebrows, microblading is the golden ticket! You also get a touch up with the price and have options for your shade color P. S. I thought it was going to hurt a lot more than what I experienced. Kim also has numbing cream to make things less uncomfortable. But overall, it was a great first time experience. Will definitely be using this service again in the future! Thanks Kim and Tokyo Blaq!

Went in yesterday to have my hair colored by Emily! The entire staff is friendly, it was great to find out they do tattoos! Emily transformed my hair from boring purple to an amazing teal, green, blue, purple and pink combination. My only requirement was lots of teal and my hair is absolutely beautiful! Definitely the place to go for fun creative color!

I’ve never been good at taking care of my hair. I’ve also been in San Diego for 10 years and have never gone to the same salon more than once. I found Tokyo Blaq because I’ve been coloring my hair purples and blues and haven’t been able to find anyone who is particularly experienced with Asian hair. I reached out to Linh, who responds quickly, a bonus these days. She is personable, down to earth, and most importantly she knows hair and color. I told her I wanted to have a silver ombré which is a multiple visit progression so we brainstormed the interim options that would help my hair get to a point where it would take the color but still look good. We ended up with a purple and silver ombré and it was beautiful! She also gave me a simple layered cut and voila my hair had new life! I just went in for my second visit now it’s a purple blue steel gradient. My hair’s been stubborn in taking the color and Linh has gone to lengths to make it work.

By far the best place that my wife and I have ever gone to for our hair, linh and the team there at Tokyo Blaq make our 100 mile trip worth it every time.

From nails to hair and tattoos this place is amazing. Linh is always fun and does an amazing job on my hair. My son is now even going here and seeing Emily who is awesome. Casey also gets a shout out for the 4 amazing tattoos he’s done for me. I recommend them to everyone.

Casey is a PRO!, excellent customer service, fair prices, super clean, he cares about you and about what you want, will listen to you and show you some samples before your final pick, he explains the whole process in detail, listens to your questions, tells you how to care for your tat after is done, I will never go anywhere else in San Diego. this place is the best! and the final product is of high class! Just had my nails done here for the first time and it was a great experience! Heidi was able to take my sister and I in as walk-​ins. She is so friendly and really tries to get to know you! She is also very quick and does a clean job!
My brother had gotten his first tattoo done here by Casey and it turned out just the way he wanted!
This all inclusive place is perfect! Prices are great and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

My friend and I were getting tattoos on our wrists for the first time. Joseph was vey patient and took the time to answer all our questions about the design to make sure we were totally happy with the tattoo. Joseph had great attention to detail and I’m extremely happy with his workmanship and the final result!!! I would definitely recommend Joseph if you are looking to get a tattoo!!!

Just got my nails done here with my cousins and it was such a relaxing experience. The two nail technicians are so sweet and was very personable. Prices are great. Will definitely be coming back here again:)

After doing research and being present at several locations i can tell you this:
Don’t even bother checking other locations because despite the fact that casey is a real artist, his price are reasonable and he has a unique personality. He will surely make your experience a life time experience and you will come back for more! I am more than satisfied with the way he welcomed me to his place and the fact that he is reachable to answer all your questions either by phone or by walk in’s. Thank you casey and till next time!

Went there for my first tattoo, right away walking inside I was greeted by a very family oriented woman who helped introduce me to the kind man who would be giving me my tattoo. I show him the design I’d like and he very kindly resized the picture and put it on the perfect place I wanted it to be. Not only with my tattoo, but with my friend who came along with me she ended up getting her nails done there while I got my tattoo. The woman was very sweet and talkative, and you could tell she put heart and effort into what she was doing. Both nails and tattoo turned out perfect!

My first 2 tattoos. Casey was great, quick and didn’t hurt as much as I thought. The design was simple but he did exactly how I wanted it. I will go back again!

I took my mom, here for her first tattoo. Casey is the bomb when it comes to tattoos. Her tattoo came out beautiful. She wanted a tattoo of our first and second beagle. And it came out looking like our fur babies. And this Friday I’m going back for my second tattoo. Make an appointment and bring cash!!!

As always Casey has impressed me with his skills. I just received my second tattoo from him and it came out awesome! :-) He really captured the idea i had in mind.

I work at a bar in north park but live in Mira Mesa. One of our regulars came in and I loved her nails. She recommended this place to me. So I called right when they opened and got an appointment with Hai. She did such an amazing job !! I absolutely loved it and she did exactly what I wanted. The shop is so cute, and I love that it’s a tattoo and beauty salon at the same time. Hai even gave me a cute little TokyoBlaq care package for my nails for my first time there, it had a nail filer and buffer. Amazing! If you want your nails done make sure you make an appointment ;D

I hardly if ever write reviews and let me say this place is AMAZING!!! Granted I will end up spending much more money than expected, but I LOVE that it is a one stop shop place. Linh did my hair today and I was really nervous about it because I wanted to be shaved on both sides of my head along with hair color. Linh was really really helpful on giving me her honest opinion and doing an amazing job with cut, color, and conversating. There is nothing worse than to go get your hair done and your stylist isn’t talking to you. I feel it makes the whole thing not as fun as it is supposed to be. I have never been so happy about my hair getting done in years. Not only did my hair turn out AWESOME, but I freaking love it. I have found me my perfect hairstylist!!!
Now on to the piercer Sofia she is also AMAZING!!! I went in thinking I was going to either get my Monroe or Eyebrow done, but left with my Tragus and Monroe and I am coming back in 2 weeks to get my eyebrow and industrial. I am a nervous person when it comes to piercings surprisingly since I have some already, but Sofia is fast and is very informative about how to handle the healing process and does it when you yourself are ready. Sofia is also great at conversating I ended staying much longer than expected because we were talking so much. Next up tattoos by Linh’s husband. If your looking for a place that knows their stuff and does such an amazing job at it I would say hands down go to this place. No matter how far you live from the shop. I live in Hillcrest and have no problem driving there!

I have had several sessions and tattoos by Master CaseyTattoos. This dude is wicked when it comes to color and always takes his time. He handled all of my projects with care and consideration. It wasn’t price based and he was rushing through it. He took the time to make sure that I was happy with my pieces he was working on. Casey is a true artist with abilities that went beyond my expectations. I have referred several of my friends and they are all happy with both the price and the work!
